Islington Bandit Territory Tonight 30/3/19
"It's now 'Retribution' time - the final track on the album - the band signing off with the message of how governments have sold out our planet and it is now payback time. More like 'Retro-bution', given Edwards soaring Skynyrd like lap slide solo, once again consolidated by Brooks and Naumann's solid foundations plus some awesome keys. A real cracker to round off an album that has everything musically: attitude, experimentation, energy, diversity and thought provoking messages, whilst at the same time having the beauty of the manoeuvrability of another dimension in a raw, live, environment. This is real Rock 'n' Roll as we know it, personified. On this evidence, Wille & The Bandits are certainly heading down the right path." That was part of our take on Wille & The Bandits recently released CD 'Paths', and the guys complete their current UK tour at London's O2 Academy 2 Islington tonight supported by Rainbreakers.

Drawing on seventeen years of heart-and-guts songs that have shaken the Blues-Rock scene, the Finnish slide-guitarist finishes her tour in Bromsgrove tonight. Excellently supported by Cheri Lyn and Blues Engine (pictured), and with a review to come, check out today's Photo Gallery here courtesy of Bruce Biege.

Zombies Boisdale Review/Photo Gallery 29/3/19
"Two of Colin’s solo hits from the 70’s kept the momentum going, the gorgeous ‘Say You Don’t Mind’ (a personal favourite) and ‘I Don’t Believe in Miracles’. There were cries of disappointment from the audience as they announced that the duo would only be playing four numbers from their classic (misspelt) album ‘Odessey and Oracle’ following a description of it being Paul Weller’s favourite album. ‘Care of Cell 44’, ‘A Rose for Emily’, ‘This Will Be Our Year’ and ‘Time of The Season’ were rattled off in quick succession, as some in the audience no doubt became misty eyed at hearing these ultra-melodic gems from the past. There were more good natured stories and other songs, including of course ‘She’s Not There’, all of which left the feeling that this was one of those special occasions when it was a real privilege as well as a total pleasure to share the experience of listening to two such talented and likeable musicians, displaying all the skills gained over a life-time of performing."

Rock And Roll 29/3/19
Last night we were lucky enough to witness a unique musical meeting of three of the most inventive performers of our time – for perhaps the only time – all to benefit Resonance FM! As co-founder and legendary multi-instrumentalist with Led Zeppelin, John Paul Jones needed no introduction. A restless and radical musical innovator for over half a century - as composer, arranger and producer across genres ranging from Pop to Opera to Electronica – he was joined for this intimate performance at London's iconic 100 Club by like minds in the form of Thurston Moore and Steve Noble. Thurston’s ground-breaking use of extended techniques as guitarist in Sonic Youth, the most enduring of America’s experimental Rock bands, was matched by the extraordinary dexterity of improvising drummer Steve Noble, collaborator of choice of free Jazz iconoclasts including Derek Bailey, Joe McPhee and Matthew Shipp.
Raven Age Underworld Tonight 28/3/19

Not only that, but they will then continue the year as support to Iron Maiden on their North and South American leg of the ‘Legacy Of The Beast’ tour from July to October!
Circu5 Comes To Fiddler's Elbow Tonight 28/3/19

Circu5 (pronounced 'circa five') also playThe Water Rats in London on Friday 14th June (with Mellotronanism) and The Cellar Bar in Devizes on Sunday 16th June. Their globally acclaimed debut Circu5 album was released in September 2017 with Steve performing almost all instrumental and vocal duties, with guest spots from musicians including Dave Gregory (Big Big Train, XTC) and Johnny Warman.
Hands Off Gretel Tonight 28/3/19
South Yorkshire Melodic Grunge/Punk band Hands Off Gretel release their new album ‘I Want The World’ this Friday 29th March on their own label Puke Pop Records and their London Album Launch is at the Nambucca tonight, with the band on stage at 9.30pm. Fronted by the whirlwind of style, creativity and attitude that is Lauren Tate on vocals/guitar, they are an explosion of colour and sound, much needed in 2019! Inspired by the volatile and liberating melody fueled noise of bands such as Hole, The Distillers, Nirvana and PJ Harvey, the album features twelve-tracks hugely addictive, and sometimes vindictive, Melodic Rock that is unafraid to blend the heavy screeching distortion of Grunge Rock with the catchy hooks of Bubblegum Pop, whilst keeping true to their original roots in Punk Rock. Also featuring Sean Bon on guitar, Sam Hobbins on drums and Becky Baldwin on bass, watch out for when they return to London at Camden Rocks on Sunday 2nd June.
Royal Festival Hall Review 27/3/19
"Well there's only so much you can do with an acoustic guitar right? Wrong! Tommy further demonstrated his versatility with a drum solo! No mass exodus to the washrooms here, as we looked on in disbelief given Tommy's snare drum percussion shenanigans using his mic'd guitar. Time for Emmanuel to take a deep breath as he finished with his poignant 'Rachel's Lullaby', written for his baby daughter - in Tommy's own words - his 'Blackbird'. "It was in tune when I bought it" Emmanuel joked as he tuned his guitar, whilst again saying how lucky he was to do what he does, as he invited JD back on to the stage for a jam and a joint vocal. Tommy and JD finished with '(Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay', Otis Redding's classic that they both recorded on 'Accomplice One', leaving us with one last duelling guitar salvo. There was one more from Emmanuel, 'Sail On', movingly dedicated to his late brother Phil, albeit with his amusing heaven anecdote, before Tommy returned for a very short instrumental encore. Emmanuel proved that he's a breathtaking live artist as much as he is on record, and his performance was one of irresistible showmanship, exhilarating finger picking and outstanding musicianship. A performance not to have been missed."

Another World At 100 Club Last Night 27/3/19
European Blues Award winner Erja Lyytinen stopped off at London's iconic 100 Club last night as part of her 12-date UK tour in advance of the release of her brand-new studio album 'Another World' on Friday 26th April via Tuohi Records. Drawing on seventeen years of heart-and-guts songs that have shaken the Blues-Rock scene, the Finnish slide-guitarist finishes her tour in Bromsgrove this Saturday. Excellently supported by Cheri Lyn and Blues Engine, and with a review and Photo Gallery to come, check out today's Video Of The Day.
Erja 100 Up Tonight 26/3/19
European Blues Award winner Erja Lyytinen will release her brand-new studio album 'Another World' on Friday 26th April via Tuohi Records, and to coincide with this, the Finnish slide-guitarist is currently on a 12-date UK tour that stops off at London's iconic 100 Club tonight which finishes in Bromsgrove this Saturday. For seventeen years, we’ve known her as the award-winning slide goddess whose heart-and-guts songs have shaken the Blues-Rock scene. This is an artist capable of flowing from the primal Blues of international debut 'Pilgrimage' (2005), to the orchestration of 'Voracious Love' (2010) and the soulful Elmore James tributes of 'The Sky Is Crying' (2014). But following the shattering breakup that fuelled 'Stolen Hearts' (2017), Lyytinen found herself tearing out the page and writing a brand new chapter.
Elles Bailey CD Review 26/3/19
"Elles maturity as a songwriter is displayed on the final track ‘Light In the Distance’, a beautiful song, all her own, inspired by the final days of a friend: “these are weary bones I carry, all I once was, gone before, time to sleep in, endless dreaming, a light aboard from distant shores, but for now hold my hand as I leave for the promised land, because there’s a light in the distance, calling me home, I’m not afraid, this broken body is ready for its soul to roam.” Accompanied only by solo piano, played by Jimmy Nichols, this is a moving piece and shows that the singer is not afraid to move away from the Blues/Country territory she is associated with. There are no duff tracks on this collection, which bears repeated listening and is highly recommended. Is it too soon to ask when the next album is coming? I can’t wait."

The band has released five albums, culminating in the #2 Hard Rock album release 'Undeniable' in June 2016.

Connie At Barleylands Today 23/3/19

Bridge Of Sighs 23/3/19
Well it doesn't get much better than the Blues line-up we witnessed at London's Under The Bridge last night. First up was The Connor Selby Band (pictured) who we last saw on a beautiful Summer's Day at Ramblin Man in July last year, with the meat in the sandwich being 2015 WRC 'One's To Watch' award winners Southbound, who we last saw at The100 Club in May 2017. Both young bands were awesome, as was headliner Henrik Freischlader, who we last caught at London's Borderline in September 2017, before the release of his latest album 'Hands On The Puzzle' . With a Photo Gallery to come, in the meantime check out today's Video Of The Day.

Simo (pictured) also performing a solo set. On the night, Emmanuel proved that he's a breathtaking live artist as much as he is on record and his performance was one of irresistible showmanship, exhilarating finger picking and outstanding musicianship – a performance not to have been missed.
Southbound Under The Bridge Tonight 22/3/19
"Tom Ford’s vocals on ‘First Time Love’ proved what a charismatic frontman he is – again ably backed up with solos from Carter plus what could only be described as an ‘All Along The Watchtower’ moment from Stout. Very cool. The guys rounded off their set – as they did at The Horn in December with 'Lonely Blues', 'Rock Bottom' and the rockin' 'The Desert' - with Tom kindly thanking the WRC for their deserved award. No ‘Lover Boy Blues', no 'Book On A Shelf' nor 'Georgia Peach' but just thankful that this was not their farewell gig!" That was our take the last time we reviewed 2015 WRC 'One's To Watch' award winners Southbound supporting Shooter at Putney's Half Moon in March 2016 and the guys are back in London tonight playing just down the road at Under The Bridge with Henrik Freischlader (pictured) and The Connor Selby Band (Video Of The Day).
Colt48 Hope & Anchor Review 22/3/19
"They smash straight into the single 'Disconnected' with high energy riffs coming from Adam's semi-hollow guitar and Matt’s powerful drum beat getting the crowd going. It's not long before the expense of energy gives Matt a rather 'wild' look behind the drums and Adam's racing between microphones at either end of the stage creates a similar look for him too!"

Touring extensively and playing the major UK festivals including Glastonbury, Bestival and The Great Escape, Flight Brigade have garnered a reputation from fans and critics alike for exceptional and explosive live performances. Their sound is as distinctive as it is unique. Infectious melodies and hooks flow through songs that at times exude fierce energy and at others gentle poignancy. With grand orchestral sweeps, crunching anthemic guitars, strings and synths, their explosive performances feel like it’s their last day on earth!

Bernie Tormé 20/3/19
Irish Rock guitarist, singer, songwriter, record label and recording studio owner Bernie Tormé died on Sunday, the day before his 67th birthday. Inspired by England's burgeoning mid-1970's Punk Rock scene, Tormé formed the Bernie Tormé Band in 1976. With this group, Tormé toured with successful groups of that period such as The Boomtown Rats and Billy Idol's Generation X, among many others. However, Tormé is best known for his work with Gillan, as well as his brief stints with Ozzy Osbourne's backing band and Atomic Rooster. Today's Video Of The Day is dedicated in Bernie's memory.

Brocarde's Last Supper 18/3/19
Brocarde is an incomparable British songstress with a singular vision. She first tasted success as a jewellery designer when her brand of unusual, alternative accessories exploded into the mainstream. But then she became disillusioned with celebrity culture and, after destroying her famous creation, set off to Los Angeles to write and record her debut album. ‘Last Supper’, the incendiary first single from the album, set for release on Good Friday 19th April, begs the listener to question their relationship with celebrity culture, social media and loved ones and asks the all-important question “What will you consume at your last supper?" Indeed, 'Last Supper’, is the first hard hitting song she wrote when she got to Los Angeles, and is a song which won’t get out of your head once it has wormed its way in, let alone a perfect introduction to Brocarde’s inspirational, arresting, matchless musical concoction.

Need A Little Lovin' (Sometime) 18/3/19
Was it really way back in August 2016 that we introduced you to one of the best songs of that Summer - or in fact any Summer - namely 'Sound Of The Summer' by Jamie Porter. Then, two years ago, they followed that up with the release of their acclaimed 'Sonic Smile' album. Jamie's a musician living in North Wales, writing and playing Country Rock infused with Blues and taking them out live with his band. Anyway, the Jamie Porter Band are currently in the process of recording some new material, and have have just put out an excellent new track 'Need A Little Lovin' (Sometime)' which is today's Video Of The Day.

Underworld's Pearl Tonight 17/3/19
The unmistakable voice of Jizzy Pearl, one of the most loved Hard Rock bands of the early 1990’s, returns to London's The Underworld in Camden tonight supported by The Brink (Track Of The Day), a band who bring new life and energy to the British Hard Rock scene with their vibrant 21st Century form of balls-to-the-wall Rock 'n Roll. Jizzy of Love/Hate returned with his highly anticipated new solo album ‘All You Need Is Soul’ in May last year, which was released via Frontiers Music Srl. They first burst onto the scene in 1990 with the debut album ‘Blackout In The Red Room’ and proceeded to take the UK by storm with Best Album of the Year from Kerrang! and Metal Hammer magazines. Playing sold out shows and opening for Skid Row, AC/DC and Dio put Love/Hate on the map. MTV hits ‘Why Do You Think They Call It Dope', ‘She’s An Angel' and the band’s follow up album ‘Wasted In America’ has ensured a loyal following to this day.
Elles Bailey Lexington Review 17/3/19
"A more Rocky feel was demonstrated on ‘Medicine Man’ (inspired by a music industry charlatan that the singer encountered, to her regret) and the big drum led groove of ‘Road I Call Home’ with its chunky chord motif. The evening closed with early recording ‘Howlin’ Wolf’ - a song inspired by Janis Joplin; musical inspirations clearly acknowledged. A superb performance that left the crowd happy and, judging by the long queue to meet the singer and buy some merch’ after the show, further consolidated her growing fanbase."

John Doe Blues At Barleylands Today 16/3/19
Was it really just over two years ago that The John Doe Trio (Video Of The Day) played some short acoustic slots throughout the day at our BluesRockFest at Leo's Red Lion, Gravesend, in September 2016? Now with their debut studio album ‘Stranger’ taking pride of place in many a CD collection and prestigious venues such as The 100 Club conquered, the band are going from strength to strength. Now fresh from their set on the "Introducing Stage" at Skegness in January, today at 2pm the band are taking to the stage at Blues At Barleylands, Barleylands Social Club Barleylands Road, Billericay, Essex CM11 2UF. The very best in modern British Blues!

The album is the follow up to 2016s ‘Inmazes’. Vola also play the Prog In The Park stage at Ramblin' Man Fair on Saturday 20th July.
Trevor Babajack Steger CD Review 16/3/19
"Been So Long’ has that really early Quo (Yes, Status) style before they went out and out twelve-bar blues, whilst ’Stranger in Hell’ takes us down tempo with an open a beer and chill mode. ’Something On My Mind’ picks us up kind of Hillbilly in it’s manner, while the closing track ‘Went Out Walking’ rocks with the harmonica/filtered vocal only tune, cleverly bringing us to an end. While I may direct this to the mid-week Blues and Roots Club goers - it can easily be appealing any day or mood of the week. Get on it people!"

Sold Out Colt48 At Hope & Anchor Tonight 15/3/19
"The music is mainly Nu-Metal and Heavy Rock with powerful riffs, but with good melodies and it wasn’t long before the crowd were singing along. Not only are they headlining and selling out a major London venue, but are beginning to build a loyal fan base, and this could be the sign that Colt48 are on the way up." That was part of our take on Colt48's Borderline gig almost a year ago to the day, and the guys (Video Of The Day) return to London for a super intimate sold out show tonight at Islington's Hope & Anchor to celebrate the release of their new EP 'Negatives'. And not only is there great support from Stand Alone, Black Orchid Empire and an acoustic set from Jon Grayson, but every ticket sold gets an exclusive physical copy of the EP!
Tyketto/Kane'd Photo Gallery 15/3/19
We last saw Tyketto at last year's Stone Free Festival at the O2 Arena in June, and the band returned to London with an almighty bang at the O2 Academy Islington last Tuesday, as part of their 'Strength In Numbers 25th Anniversary Tour'. Anyway, with great support from Kane'd, check out today's Photo Gallery here from the gig courtesy of Mr. Rockrpix himself John Bull.
Big Red Piston Tonight 14/3/19
British five-piece Rock ‘n’ Roll engine Piston continue a run of UK shows tonight at London's The Big Red in support of their recent single 'One More Day' - taken from their upcoming album later this year. Piston have already appeared with various well-respected acts in the industry such as The Temperance Movement and Sebastian Bach and have filled venues throughout the UK with their raw sound and energetic performances. With free entry plus support from Red Thirteen and Thernic, why not go along and see for yourself tonight?
The Eighth Mountain 14/3/19
Rhapsody Of Fire hold a special position in the exciting and multi-faceted world of Heavy Metal. Like few other acts, the band from Italy stands for anthemic symphonic Metal presented with lots of speed, great pathos and technical refinement. At the beginning of their career in particular (at the time still under the shorter moniker of Rhapsody), their songs presented a mythical, album-transcending saga, such as 'Legendary Tales' (1997), 'Symphony Of Enchanted Lands' (1998) and 'Dawn Of Victory' (2000). Rhapsody Of Fire have now returned to the very strengths of those albums. Their latest studio recording 'The Eighth Mountain' released last month (see today's Video Of The Day), sees the band, consisting of Giacomo Voli (vocals), Alex Staropoli (keyboards), Roby De Micheli (guitars), Alessandro Sala (bass) and Manu Lotter (drums), combining spirited songs and epic chorus parts with lavish orchestral arrangements. At the same time, the album marks the beginning of a new, exciting saga that’s typical of Rhapsody Of Fire.
Neon Highway Blues 14/3/19
This Friday sees the global release of Gary Hoey's new Mascot Label Group album 'Neon Highway Blues' via Provogue. The album’s eleven tracks display Hoey’s confidence and assuredness alongside the freshness of someone who's still in the process of discovery and refinement. Hoey self-produced the album at his New Hampshire based home studio, while also enlisting friends Eric Gales, Lance Lopez, Josh Smith and his 17-year-old son Ian for guest appearances. 'Neon Highway Blues' will, of course, take Hoey back on the highways and byways for plenty of touring and playing, well, the Blues - and more. He can't yet predict where the next road will take him, but Hoey is confident it will be an adventure. In the meantime check out today's Track Of The Day - the lyric video For 'Your Kind Of Love'.

Mind Over Matter 13/3/19
The UK's Lethbridge Owen release their debut record ‘Mind Over Matter’ on Friday 5th April. Described as a 70’s Fleetwood Mac with Eric Johnson on guitar, they are a powerful combination of incredible song writing filling with heart and emotion with world class musicianship. ‘Mind Over Matter’ encapsulates the perfect blend of traditional and modern music and is simply beautifully well crafted from beginning to end. Every song has its own story to tell and Kelly Louise Lethbridge and Jimmy Owen are very good at telling those stories, as testified by today's Video Of The Day - 'All We Have Is Hope’.

Tyketto Academy Tonight 12/3/19
"Staying at the Indigo stage, we are treated by the appearance of Tyketto, the five-piece Rock band from New York. Fronted by former Waysted singer Danny Vaughan, they are another extremely professional act entertaining the crowd with what was, by their standards, a far more funky set than you would expect. As Vaughan quips during one of the funkier jams between bassist Chris Childs and guitarist Chris Green, "This has turned into a Barry White medley!" Vaughan is another hugely entertaining front man and the band seem to just be the most relaxed people having a good time playing what they love. Which pervades to the growing audience, Finishing with their anthemic 'Forever Young' the crowd warmly applaud them off the stage before rushing to see the closing act on the Orange stage, The Bad Flowers." That was our take on Tyketto at last year's Stone Free Festival at the O2 Arena last June, and the band return to London tonight at the O2 Academy Islington as part of their 'Strength In Numbers 25th Anniversary Tour'.

Through The Mourning Woods 11/3/19
Last month, Left Hand Solution (Video Of The Day) released through their original Swedish Massproduktion label, an updated version of 'Through The Mourning Woods' - a sweet nightmare that combines sounds from their early Doom days and Goth elements of their later days which puts it all in a new context. Formed in 1991, they released three albums and toured Europe, USA and Canada and made a large impression with their unique take on Doom Metal for more than ten years. What made LHS so special was their combination of hard riffs, dark melodies and Mariana Frykman’s dark and beautiful voice. Being one of the early Metal bands with a female vocalist, their influence has been largely overlooked but their cult following has continued to grow. Later this year, there will be another release from the band - a compilation of previously unreleased tracks.
Bull's Head Hitman Tonight 11/3/19
The Hitman Blues Trio featuring Russell 'Hitman' Alexander play the Bull's Head, 337 Lonsdale Road, Barnes SW13 9PY tonight, in a joint Bull's Head/Eel Pie Club production. Alexander from New York City is a larger than life Bluesman who writes excellent songs and creates unique versions of Blues standards. He's the real deal with a striking, charismatic personality, playing superb modern Blues, and his rich, powerful voice is reminiscent of the great John Fogerty. Hitman has music in his blood being the son of New York jazz scene vibes player Ray Alexander, and in the US, The Hitman Blues Band have been nominated for the Blues Grammies, as well as being one of the finalists in the Memphis International Blues Challenge. Doors open at 7.30pm with music from 8pm to 10.30pm.
100 Up For BBB & The LiMiTs Tonight 10/3/19
"There was just time for one encore, 'This Ain't Rufus', from the latest album, and if you closed your eyes you could just imagine Chuck Berry jumping around on the stage to this one, although when I opened them, my abiding memory was Paul Ronney's head poking out of the dressing room door with a drink in his hand! Once again, this literal larger than life performer had truly rocked the Blues, with his trademark dirty strat Roots and R&B, totally complemented by his humorous lyrics and banter. Yes, we were insanely happy!" That was part of our take when we last saw Big Boy Bloater & The LiMiTs at Camden's The Black Heart in September last year, and the guys return to London tonight at the iconic 100 Club.
Road Back To Ruin 10/3/19
Norwegian Rock band Pristine's fifth album 'Road Back To Ruin' is due for release on Friday 19th April via Nuclear Blast. The album marks a point of evolution as well as diversification in their sound, but despite the newly introduced variety this record is still unmistakably Pristine. Tromsö native Heidi Solheim, the driving force behind the band - plus the core of the band - Espen Elverum Jacobsen (guitar), Gustav Eidsvik (bass) and Ottar Tøllefsen (drums) - fuse musical as well as lyrical variety on all eleven songs that incorporate a wide variety of styles and influences with a great mutual musical understanding. Studio guests Anders Oskal and Hansi Enzesperger also add a unique flourish in the form of a Hammond Organ. May and June will also see the band bring back Rock to the clubs with their Road Back To Ruin Tour, but in the meantime check out their first single from the album, 'Sinnerman', which is today's Track Of The Day.
Savage Messiah's Demons 10/3/19
Savage Messiah release their new album, 'Demons', on Friday 17th May via Century Media, and their first single taken from the album, ‘Under No Illusions’, is today's Video Of The Day. The track is an explosive blend of frenzied riffs with anthemic choruses melded together to form an intense, Melodic Metal rocket. 'Demons' is Savage Messiah’s fifth studio album and sees the band deliver a fresh new sound that will infect ears and conquer minds. To celebrate the release, the band will also be playing three headline shows in Manchester, London and Glasgow in May. The band will also embark on an extensive 23 date European tour supporting Symphony X, which includes a date at London’s Electric Ballroom on Thursday 6th June.
Praying Mantis Dome Tonight 9/3/19
Praying Mantis released their eleventh studio album ‘Gravity’ in May last year, and the guys are back in their hometown tonight playing London's Tufnell Park Dome. After the positive reception afforded to the band's last studio release ’Legacy' in 2015, their latest CD saw the band return with another inspired, take-no-prisoners set. The album also saw Mantis retain the same line-up, with John Cuijpers (vocals) and Hans in't Zandt (drums) again contributing to the songwriting process. Alongside founder members Tino Troy, Chris Troy and Andy Burgess, they not only helped in the writing of the songs, but also in providing a new dimension in terms of sound engineering and overall production. A well established band of Melodic Hard Rockers formed in 1973, they spearheaded the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal movement of the late ’70’s.
Bright New Dawn 9/3/19
With their debut album, ‘Leave Before The Light’, being released yesterday, 2019 looks to be a big year for rising Rockers At The Sun, who have also released the brand-new video for their single, 'Only A Fool' (today's Video Of The Day). Formed in 2016, Harry (vocals), Kieron (guitars), Alex (bass), Chet (guitar) and Craig (drums) spent a year honing their skills on the live circuit before heading into the studio to record their new album late last year. With a driving but melodic sound, At The Sun believe in writing songs people can move to, combining big riffs with big rhythms and singalong choruses. With UK festivals lined up for 2019, along with a UK tour supporting the album that includes London's Black Heart on Friday 12th April, there's no excuse not to journey to see these guys in their natural habitat: live!

Coming Closer To The Day 8/3/19
It’s rare to find a 60's legend still on trailblazing form in their eighth decade. 73-year-old guitarist Robin Trower finds himself in a golden late-bloom of creativity. In recent years, his solo output has been championed by both press and public, with the impact of 2014’s ‘Something’s About To Change’, 2016’s ‘Where You Are Going To’ and 2017’s ‘Time & Emotion’ setting up some of his best-attended US dates since he conquered that continent with ‘Bridge Of Sighs’ in the mid-’70s. With ‘Coming Closer To The Day’, due to be released on Friday 22nd March, his songcraft and soulful performances have never sounded more alive – even on an album whose title track acknowledges that life is short and time precious. The calibre of the songwriting on ‘Coming Closer To The Day’ (see today's Video Of The Day) is matched by Trower’s performances, with the bandleader handling all instruments except the drums. His basslines are supple and rhythmic, his vocals growl and and the lead guitar work only adds to his reputation as an all-time-great soloist.

Space Elevator 7/3/19
Today's Video Of The Day is the captivating new ‘Keep Waiting’ single released last month by Space Elevator on Steamhammer/SPV. The consummate Classic Rock four-piece, the band were formed by guitarist David Young and flamboyant lead singer The Duchess. The second single to be taken from the band’s sophomore album ‘Space Elevator II’, ‘Keep Waiting’ is a soaring, powerful, perfectly performed, instantly memorable Pop infused Melodic Rock composition.
Rise Of The Dragon Empire 7/3/19
Since Fredrik Bergh and Tomas Olsson toyed around with ideas of founding a new Metal band in 2004, Bloodbound have secured an impressive fan following which increased steadily and significantly since vocalist Patrik J. Selleby joined the band in 2010. Their 2016 release 'War Of Dragons' was their first to achieve impressive chart results in numerous countries, the band played a successful European headlining tour and a big number of festivals. 'Rise Of The Dragon Empire' (today's Track Of The Day), due to be released on Friday 22nd March, is a continuation of the last two albums 'War Of Dragons' and 'Stormborn', but this time a clearer Nordic Folk music influence is mixed in with the typical trademark sound of the band. During the Spring of 2019 Bloodbound will once again head out on a headlining tour that will take them to many countries across Europe, taking label mates Dynazty and Manimal with them as special guests on the "Tour Of The Dragon Empire" – a huge, exciting “Swedish Metal Invasion”.
Eel Pie For Schorr Tonight 7/3/19
"Sari announces it’s the last song and intros the band - well done chaps - and gives a shout out to the promoters Gig Cartel for putting the tour together. The song is 'Valetina', another of the highlights from the 'Never Say Never' album. Not that there’s any lowlights, the album is all killer no filler - as has been this set. There’s a line in the song “Welcome the latest great pretender to the stage” Well, Sari’s no pretender, she’s the real deal and leaves the stage tonight with some happy new fans." That was part of our take when we last saw Sari Schorr supporting King King at London's Koko last month and Sari is back headlining tonight at Twickenham's Eel Pie Club. Doors open at 8.15pm with music from 9-11pm. WRC members are reminded that they can use their cards to get discounted admission.
Rock On The Ridge's Animal Drive 6/3/19
On today's WRC Award winning Rock On The Ridge Track Of The Day there's music from Animal Drive, The Raven Age, Mouth In The South, Backyard Babies, Dirty Thrills, Piston, Puppet Kings, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, Wolf Jaw, Demon Hunter, Burning Rain, Dream Theater, Saint Apache (pictured), Ten Years After, The Wayward Sons, Rainbreakers, Slydigs, Joe Bonamassa, Dogs of Peace, Creed, Whoopie Cat and on their Introducing Stage, two in a row from False Hearts.
Flight Brigade's Fury Road 6/3/19
Alternative Indie-Rock band Flight Brigade release their new single ‘Fury Road’ on Friday 22nd March which is today's Video Of The Day. The single is taken from the band’s new studio album ‘Chased By Wolves’ which is due to be released on Friday 6th September via Wixen Music Publishing. Touring extensively and playing the major UK festivals including Glastonbury, Bestival and The Great Escape, Flight Brigade have garnered a reputation from fans and critics alike for exceptional and explosive live performances. Indeed the coming weeks will see the seven-piece band hit the road once more, kicking off a four-week run of shows starting with a performance at Camden Rocks on Thursday 21st March, finishing off back in London at The Half Moon, Putney, on Thursday 18th April.
Snowy White's Situation 6/3/19
Snowy White And The White Flames release their new album 'The Situation' on Friday 19th April. Eighteen months after his last long-player, ‘Reunited’, the acclaimed British guitarist presents his new album containing twelve new tracks. Once again, Snowy called on his musical collaborators and friends, including Max Middleton (piano/keys), Ferry Langendrijk (keys), Jessica Lauren (keys), Kuma Harada (bass), Walter Latupeirissa (bass), Juan van Emmerloot (drums) and Jeff Allen(drums). Since the late 1960's, Snowy and his characteristic guitar-playing have made their mark on tasteful Blues Rock. Whether as a member of Thin Lizzy (on the albums ’Chinatown’ and ’Renegade’), working with Peter Green (Fleetwood Mac), as an indispensable tour musician for Pink Floyd and later Roger Waters, or as a highly-respected solo artist: Snowy has always remained true to his love for excellent, handmade music.
Bastards Of Beale 5/3/19
Tora Tora (today's Video Of The Day) was signed by Frontiers in 2018 to record their first all new studio album in almost a quarter of a century, with the resulting ‘Bastards Of Beale’, released last month, bringing back the magic of their Blues-rooted Hard Rock sound that gained them such a loyal following in the first place. Formed in Memphis in the late 80’s, their 1989 debut album ‘Surprise Attack’ (A&M) charted in the Billboard Top 50, with a non-album single entitled ‘Dancing With A Gypsy’ appearing on the soundtrack to the hit movie ‘Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure’ that same year. A follow-up album, ‘Wild America’, was released in 1992, but their third record was shelved in 1994 as the musical climate shifted. The band went on a lengthy hiatus before reuniting in 2008, initially to celebrate the 20th anniversary of signingtheir record deal, then subsequently releasing three albums of archive material. Always a far cry from their more polished peers and more spiritually connected to Blue Collar Hard Rock, the return of Tora Tora seamlessly picks up where they left off all those years ago.
More Sinner Than Saint 5/3/19
Returning to the fray after the release of her critically acclaimed second studio album 'Believe', the Black Country's Rebecca Downes, announces the release of her eagerly anticipated third studio album, 'More Sinner Than Saint', on Friday 24th May through her own label, Mad Hat Records. With exciting new material that continues the evolution of the music towards Rock, 'More Sinner Than Saint' is worth the wait. At the outset, Downes consulted with producer Chris Kimsey, to select and refine the twelve tracks and to achieve what she and co-writer Steve Birkett see as the perfect expression of their current writing. With her superb studio band that includes Dan Clark, Lloyd Daker and Magnum's Rick Benton, there was no shortage of artists queuing to join her on the odd track or two including guest guitars from King King's Alan Nimmo and Magnum's Tony Clarkin. With her signature voice, style and song writing, it was little wonder that last year she was voted Female Vocalist of the Year at the FORM UKBlues Awards. The album was mixed by Chris Childs (Thunder) and Bill Drescher (Rick Springfield & The Bangles) and takes her music into a Rockier sound than before.
Playing For Your Pleasure 5/3/19
Today's Blues On The Radio Track Of The Day is another hour of great music from great musicians including Elles Bailey, Mary Lane, Sugaray Rayford, Mike Ross, Kyla Brox (pictured) and more. And all you need do is click play and turn it up!
Lynne Jackaman Notting Hill Review 4/3/19
"One song - ‘Beautiful Loss’ - is a lovely tribute to lost friend Adam Green and is performed with just Lynne and Jamie - as are several songs tonight - but the majority of the set is full on and Funky with brass section Johnny O’Neill & Nick Etwell parping away giving extra welly away at the back. If you’re curious to hear these songs, Lynne has released an ‘Unplugged’ set performed at London’s Palladium last year on a support slot with just Jamie on acoustic. Sadly it’s poorly recorded - it sounds like an audience bootleg - but at least it gives an outing to some of the songs while the album is in gestation. But I have the feeling that 2019 is the year that Lynne will at last come back with a huge bang with an album that will get her a LOT of attention."

Bernie Marsden Photo Gallery 4/3/19
We were once again blessed to be in the presence of Bernie Marsden at London's Under The Bridge last Friday night. With great support from The Cinelli Brothers (today's Video Of The Day), check out our initial Photo Gallery here from the night which also includes our presentation to Bernie of his 2018 WRC Best Blues Rock Performance award (pictured). Understandably, the majority of the ex-Whitesnake guitarist's set comprised of the band's greatest hits including 'Fool For Your Loving' and 'Here I Go Again' plus Fleetwood Mac's 'Oh Well' and a fitting tribute to Gary Moore with Jimmy Rogers 'Walking By Myself'.
Reese Wynans Sweet Release 4/3/19
Produced by Joe Bonamassa, Stevie Ray Vaughan bandmate Reese Wynans released his first solo album 'Reese Wynans and Friends - Sweet Release' (Track Of The Day) last Friday on Provogue Records. Since the late 60's, Reese has played with everybody from Duane Allman to Boz Scaggs to Jerry Jeff Walker to Carole King, before his famous stint in Stevie Ray Vaughan's band Double Trouble. Since 2015 he has been an integral part of Joe Bonamassa's band, playing to worldwide audiences. On 'Sweet Release', Reese is joined by his Double Trouble bandmates Tommy Shannon and Chris Layton, guitarists Joe Bonamassa, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Doyle Bramhall II and many others, to pay tribute to songs from his recording career with Stevie Ray Vaughan and Bluesmen like Otis Rush and Tampa Red. Highly recommended for fans of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble!
Jackaman Notting Hill Photo Gallery 3/3/19

Let Me Be The One 3/3/19
"Following on, and now playing to a full house are Myke Gray. For those unfamiliar, the namesake guitarist was an integral part of nineties rockers Skin. His current incarnation is a vehicle for the Joe Satriani lookalike to play like a Joe Satriani soundalike. For this festival however, the instrumentalist has had the inspired idea of recruiting Kim Jennett, from Voodoo Blood, for vocals. What a powerful little powerhouse she is. With only a week or so to learn a back catalogue of Skin tracks, she - and the band - really kicked it in. Classics like 'Take Me Down To The River', 'Look But Don't Touch' and 'Shine Your Light' were belted out with the force of a West Wales weather forecast. Great band, great set, easily the find of the day." That was our take on Myke Gray at Hard Rock Hell last November and today's Video Of The Day is the second single of Kim Jennett's upcoming album - written and produced by Myke.
Captain Obvious 3/3/19

Marsden Scores At Chelsea 2/3/19
In the early 70's Bernie Marsden was the original guitarist for UFO before becoming a member of Paice, Ashton & Lord in 1977 with members of Deep Purple. After PAL split up, Bernie joined David Coverdale in the newly formed Whitesnake, helping to establish the band as one of the most successful live Rock bands in Europe and Japan. Marsden co-wrote many of the band's hits including 'Fool For Your Loving', 'Here I Go Again' and 'Lovehunter" before leaving Whitesnake to form Alaska. Bernie Marsden was also a member of Cozy Powell's Hammer, Babe Ruth & Wild Turkey. Over the years, Bernie has worked with Joe Bonamassa, Jack Bruce, Walter Trout, Ian Gillan and many more. Anyway, we were lucky enough to catch 2018 WRC Best Blues Rock performance award winner Bernie at London's Under The Bridge last night, and with more photos to come, check out today's Video Of The Day.

Ariel Posen Borderline Review 2/3/19
"Disappearing briefly before returning for an encore, Posen dedicates his final song to his wife who, when talking him into moving to Ireland, opened him up to a whole new range of music. Including John Martyn who has had a huge influence on his music and songwriting. So how better to end a great night of music than with his cover of 'Angeline'. With an Irish lilt and slow almost ethereal slide guitar, it was a ten minute master class of tone."

Bernie Under The Bridge Tonight 1/3/19
"We were blessed to be in the presence of the great man at the iconic 100 Club during London Blues Week. With ex-Whitesnake mucker Neil Murray on bass and a guest appearance by Danny Bryant - it was a memorable journey covering all of Marsden's legendary music from Whitesnake's 'Here I Go Again' to 'Shine's 'Latino' to Bobby Bland's 'Ain't No Love in the Heart of the City'." That was our take on Bernie Marsden's 2018 Best Blues Rock performance WRC Award at The 100 Club in January last year (pictured) and Bernie returns to London tonight at Under The Bridge with support from The Cinelli Brothers.
