Drinks With Infinity 30/6/20
Acclaimed American guitarist Geoff Tyson (born in Berkeley, California) releases his first instrumental guitar album, 'Drinks With Infinity', on CD, vinyl and digital on Friday 31st July, distributed by Cargo Records. Geoff’s story is an interesting one. In 1983, at the age of 13, Geoff studied guitar with Joe Satriani, and refined his skills jamming with high school mates Alex Skolnick, Charlie Hunter, Jude Gold, Joshua Redmond and Third Eye Blind’s Kevin Cadogan. Geoff is one of two students Satriani has said 'Graduated' from his lessons (the other being Steve Vai). In 1994, Geoff recorded and toured with T-Ride and released an album on Hollywood Records. In 1999 he appeared on Snake River Conspiracy’s debut album (Reprise Records) and toured with Monster Magnet and Queens of the Stone Age. In 2003, he formed Stimulator with singer Susan Hyatt, and in 2005 they signed a record deal with Universal Music. Stimulator toured the world with Duran Duran, The Go-Go’s and featured on the Van’s Warped Tour.
Chasing Suffering 30/6/20
Born of a passion to create dark and melodic music, Milton Keynes based British Metal outfit Chasing Ghosts are resurging with the recent release of their EP 'Bring Me Suffering', and the title track/single is today's Video Of The Day. Brooding, atmospheric and full of emotion, it features the sorrowful melodies of Meghan Pettitt (ex The Eden House). The EP is no doubt their biggest and most ambitious record yet, a union of haunting female harmonies and natural sombre strings, resulting in an evolution of all the darker elements in their already present sound since the release of their critically acclaimed debut album in 2018.
Blues On The Radio Double Trouble 30/6/20
Today's latest Blues On The Radio Track Of The Day takes leave of all the new releases and delves back into the past - revisiting their 'go to' albums from the 1930's through to the noughties, including John Lee Hooker & Jimmie Vaughan, Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble, Robert Johnson, Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters and more.
A New Day Now 29/6/20
Joe Bonamassa has always talked with an incredible fondness for the late great legendary producer Tom Dowd, who has a stellar discography, a veritable who's who of Soul, Rock and Blues superstars. Joe was obviously thrilled when Tom signed on to produce his first solo album, 'A New Day Yesterday', twenty years ago. However, as time has gone by, Joe's vocal style, particularly, has changed enormously. He's grown from an adolescent shouter to a very mature and soulful singer. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of 'A New Day Yesterday', Joe wanted to re-do all vocals without losing the original feel of the record. This re-release on Friday 7th August, comes with 3 bonus tracks, produced and written with Steven Van Zandt, the legendary guitarist from Bruce Springsteen's E-Street Band. To complete the new package, the album has been remastered and remixed by producer Kevin Shirley, and rebranded with an appropriate title: 'A New Day Now - 20th Anniversary Edition'.
Spectres Of The Blood Moon Sabbath 29/6/20
Today's Track Of The Day is Hellripper's debut single and animated lyric video for 'Spectres Of The Blood Moon Sabbath' from their upcoming new studio album 'The Affair Of The Poisons' scheduled for release on 9th October 2020 through Peaceville. The single sets the scene for the new album as its themes primarily revolve around the dark and insidious underworld witchcraft and the occult, with some tracks being based on historical events. The single unfurls in an infernal storm of heavy blackened Thrash, given the band has been fast gaining a reputation for whipping up an infectious storm of blackened speed Metal greatness in the spirit of old and are one of the most electrifying young, up and coming Metal acts in the scene today. Inspired by the likes of the old-school legends including Venom, Kreator, Sabbat [JPN] and Metallica, mainman James McBain formed Hellripper in 2014, and with the release of their debut EP 'The Manifestation of Evil' shortly after, the band were already making a very clear mission statement... total fucking mayhem! The band has also announced that they will be touring later in the year to coincide with the album’s release, with some UK headline shows, including London's The Black Heart on Thursday 22nd October, plus further European shows as special guests to Cleveland based Black Rock 'n' Roll/Thrash legends Midnight.
Cut To The Core 29/6/20
Today's Video Of The Day is Empyre's new single 'Cut To The Core', taken from their latest album. 'Self Aware'. Last November we had the pleasure of attending the band's 'Self Aware' album party gig held at London's Water Rats, with support from Jack J Hutchinson. Indeed, 2019 had been the band's most significant year so far, with the likes of Planet Rock and Classic Rock Magazine sitting up and paying attention to 'Self Aware', released earlier in July. In the meantime, Empyre are trying to get out as many tracks and videos online as they can, during Covid-19 times, for your watching and listening pleasure!
Drag Me Back In 28/6/20
Rising star and profound songwriter Laura Evans, who is amongst the new wave of the Country, Blues and Roots music scene, released her new single ‘Drag Me Back In’ last Friday. It definitely brings out a more rockier, edgier side to Laura, and follows on the heels of her last single ‘Running Back to You’, the title track from her EP, which charted and went straight to Number One in the UK iTunes Blues chart. The single also entered the US Blues Chart, peaking at Number 43. Laura co-wrote ‘Drag Me Back In’ with London-born and LA Soul/Blues artist and songwriter Desi Valentine plus producer Nicolas Gruter.
Bitter Better 28/6/20
Expanding on the boundaries of what an Indie-Folk band can be, Laura Cortese & The Dance Cards add a lightness and Pop sensibility on their upcoming album, 'Bitter Better', due to be released on Friday 17th July on Compass Records, of which their song 'Typhoon' is today's Video Of The Day, filmed and recorded before the pandemic in Laura's adopted home of Ghent, Belgium. A stunning lesson in all the ways string instruments can be played – bowed, plucked, percussively - combined with lush vocal harmonies, 'Bitter Better' showcases Cortese and multi-instrumentalist producer Sam Kassirer striving to capture the most adventurous approach to each moment. The result is an 11 track album that incorporates dance-worthy foundational grooves, synth and loops to push the boundaries of the genre.
Shining Black 28/6/20
Featuring singer Mark Boals (Yngwie Malmsteen, Ring Of Fire, Royal Hunt) and guitarist Ölaf Thorsen (Labyrinth, Vision Divine), today's Track Of The Day is taken from Shining Black's self-titled album out on Friday 10th July, which showcases this new duo's cutting edge Melodic Metal songwriting combined with outstanding vocal ability. The roots of their collaboration date back to 2014 when the Italian Metal band Labyrinth replaced their singer (Roberto Tiranti) with Mark Boals, but conflicting schedules put paid to recording plans and they eventually made a new record with Tiranti back on board. However, Thorsen remained in touch with Boals and the two have now created a fabulous debut.

Today's Track Of The Day, 'Longinus', is the latest single from Deathcore act Clockwork Sky, which has been unleashed via One Eyed Toad Records. 'Longinus' represents the Hertfordshire band’s heaviest release to date, which also makes a powerful impact lyrically. Recorded at The Practice Roomz Studio, Stevenage, the single was mixed and mastered by the band’s own Steven Cela. This level of hands-on-control has granted Clockwork Sky the creative freedom to produce a track truly representative of their creative mindset and musical vision, setting the bar for releases going forward.

Following on from his 2006 debut ‘Changed Priorities’, this new album took some time to assemble, due to Jim’s FM commitments to touring all over the World, including playing at some of the world’s biggest and most prestigious Rock festivals, and supporting top-flight Rock icons, as well as his recording and touring commitments with some of the UK’s top talent. Having also accumulated over two decades of experience as one of the UK’s most in demand session players, ‘Ballad of a Prodigal Son’ has a very different sound and feel to his debut though. It’s less ‘acoustical’, and indeed Jim has called on a wealth of friends and colleagues in its making, that really showcases where he is today as a guitarist and songwriter.

Based in Chicago and Las Vegas and cleverly named for their mutual affection for Elliott Smith and Tom Waits, their exuberant members endured storied journeys before finally forming what they each consider the best project of their career. Indeed, EWFNO is the result of three separate long and winding roads that converged at just the right time. Inspired by the ups and downs of decades spent in the music industry, they reflect the hope and heartbreak that can only come from lives lived on the road, on the charts and on stage. With songs such as 'Sick of It All' and 'Loathing', as hopeful and catchy as they are dark and aggressive, Brian Troch, Jenny Franck, and Jeff Tortora have sculpted their many adventures into a sound and story fit for the multitudes.

Leontas Black Magic 23/6/20
While uncertainty distills throughout the live-music industry and beyond, British Camden-Town based Rock/Blues Rock-duo Leontas, think Black Keys, White Stripes, Rival Sons, have taken isolation as an opportunity to conjure their latest single offering of percussion and riff-driven excellence; Black Magic, with today's captivating visualiser Video Of The Day to accompany. Built around the construct of a bad relationship, ‘Black Magic’ is a reflection of the dark side of the magic present, when the rose tinted glasses are firmly on, self-destruction ensues, but the intensity causes hunger for more. With over 100 live shows/festivals under their belt, worldwide media/radio support, and thousands of streams off the back of such a modest discography, Alex (vocals/guitar) and Scott (drums/vocals) continue to evolve their dynamic and energetic sound, proving that two minds, multiple amps, and a drive to sound louder, more aggressive, and more expressive, are all the ingredients needed to deliver their unique “tight sound brimming with swagger.”

The instrumentals keep a highly Progressive Rock guitar style to the fore, with songs that explore stories of lives lived and lives only just begun.
Radio Hum 22/6/20
Egomunk recently released the video for his new song ‘Radio Hum', and today's Track Of The Day finalises a trilogy of visuals to accompany his 'Only One' EP. ‘Radio Hum’ is a dark unnerving track which builds through a blend of pulsating beats and interchangeably brooding, dissonant and infectiously melodic guitar lines, set against half-spoken, hauntingly hollow and distorted vocals which address the battle of inner demons. The video is a haunting animation, which has been created by Robert Beebe who has previously worked on iconic horror film Saw among others. The EP also includes the single ‘Islands’ that highlights loneliness and caring for the elderly, delivering an important message for these current times, and as such Egomunk announced all profits of the single were to be donated to Age UK.

Lonely Robot Album Review 21/6/20
"The Silent Life' is a deeply sublime arresting atmospheric ballad. A beguiling sonic bed of delicately shimmering cellos peppered with decorative piano arpeggios, support raw, emotionally exposed and vulnerable euphonious vocals as they delicately glide over the top with a strong sense of purpose and respectful grace. “For in the endless street parade, there's beauty in her silent ways, she's living life to observe, never speaks a single word, and in tooth by tooth she builds a smile, and lives the silent life." A tastefully restrained and technically proficient melodic guitar solo, reminiscent of David Gilmour or Steve Rothery, tingles the senses and is quit simply stunning!"
Today, read another one of our self-isolating album reviews, as Steven C. Gilbert gives us his take here on Lonely Robot's 'Feelings Are Good' CD that is not only due to be released on Friday 17th July, but is also today's Video Of The Day.

Guns for five years and recorded one album with them.

Bad Touch CD Review 18/6/20
"Plenty of Southern Rock swagger and foot stomping runs right through the album from the opener ‘Come A Little Closer’ to the closing number ‘Something About Your Kiss’. An interesting choice of cover version comes in the form of ‘I’ve Got The Music In Me’, originally recorded by Kiki Dee (possibly a breaker into mainstream radio). It’s the ballad ‘See You Again’ that makes for the stand out track, falling a little more mid-Atlantic, similarly with the following track, ‘Before I Die’.”
Today read another one of our self-isolating album reviews, as Geoff C. this time gives you his take here on Bad Touch's new CD 'Kiss The Sky', which is due to be released tomorrow, plus check out our Video Of The Day. Faith Over Family 17/6/20
Today's Video Of The Day, ‘Faith Over Family’, is the debut offering from James Billett, the man with the balls to walk away from a decade-long songwriting career, from the guidance of none other than Elton John, from the praise of Noel Gallagher and writing sessions with John Legend. Released at the end of last month, with the rest of the EP following on Friday 31st July, accompanying the heartbreaking narrative is a video which is nothing short of breathtaking. Set amongst the cinematic landscape of Iceland, the video is more of a short film, with beautiful cinematography and a fully realised narrative and characters. The story is soundtracked by James’ whispered tones, sliding guitars and brushed drum beats, crafting a song which sounds like it’s etched on an old LP getting dusted off in a record shop in Nashville.

Kenny Roby knew from the start there would be a lot to say for his first solo album in seven years, the emotionally and musically expansive 'The Reservoir', due to be released on Friday 7th August from Royal Potato Family, of which Roby has just released his single 'History Lesson'. So much had changed in his world and the world at large since his stately 2013 LP, 'Memories & Birds', an exquisite reflection on the experiences and apprehensions of crossing over 40. Roby's iconic Alt-Country band 6 String Drag had reunited for runs of spirited shows and two barreling, wise Rock 'n' roll Records. And then, of course, there was the wider social upheaval of the last decade. Indeed, there was plenty to process for a new collection of songs. These 16 tunes collectively summon the wealth of Roby's experience, as a human being and as a musician.

Talking of lockdown, it was good to hear recently from one our many valued contributors, namely, Martyn Boydon. Whatever your political persuasions, Martin was so incensed by the whole Dominic Cummings saga, that he wrote a song about - the Punky sounding 'Clearly Wrong' by Life Sentence, which is today's Track Of The Day!
Black Orchid Empire CD Review 14/6/20
"The technical ability and production on this album along with great song writing brilliance has to make any Rock/Metal fan give it a little stream. We prefer the river version, but definitely 9/10 for pure enjoyment. We have an idea what’s coming for a 10 score, so keep your eyes on these guys. Never has there been a better time to be part of the Empire so if you get a chance after Covid - get along to see Black Orchid Empire live and release some of that lockdown tension.”
Today read another one of our self-isolating album reviews, as Darren King this time gives you his take here on Black Orchid Empire's new CD 'Semaphore', which was released on Friday, plus check out our Video Of The Day. Remember, if you are currently kicking your heels and you fancy doing a self-isolation CD review, then don't be shy, just e-mail us at wrinklyrockers11@aol.com

The Mercy Kills 13/6/20
Hailing from Melbourne, The Mercy Kills are back with a re-worked version of band and live crowd favourite, 'Alive' (Track Of The Day), taken from their 2013 debut album 'Happy To Kill You', that has been remastered and re-released as a single for those reaching out digitally in Covid-19 isolation. Mix two parts dirty Rock with two parts Sleaze Punk and you get this four shot cocktail featuring Mark E (vocals/guitar), Jen X Costello (bass), Nathalie Gellé (guitar) and Josh Black (drums). Their tastes in music, the desire to write great songs and blast out a killer live show are key factors shared by these Aussies, who took their name from a line in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, "It was a mercy killing".
Goldray Feel The Change 13/6/20
Following the release of their critically acclaimed debut album, ‘Rising’ in 2017, Kenwyn House (Reef) and Leah Rasmussen (EMI, Bedrock, Renaissance) aka Goldray, return with an eight-track Psych-Rock fuelled second album ‘Feel The Change’, on Friday 31st July, of which their recent single is today's Video Of The Day. Their new music exudes their inspiration and passion, as testified by 'How Do You Know', which builds through the entirety of its four-minutes demonstrating Rasmussen’s huge range and power vocally, ending with a massive crescendo. Plus ‘Oz’ - the other double a-side single - a monster seven-minute-plus track driven through House’s incredible guitar playing, is an ambitious journey of Rock and Psych, building with power, then dropping into a feeling of surreal psychedelia only to be slapped back in the face with the thunderous riff!
Bob Moore 12/6/20

Bleed These Tears 12/6/20
Badass Rock band, Kings County, out of Orlando, Florida, is back today with their latest single, 'Bleed These Tears', together with a striking new Video Of The Day, that will blow you away. The track was produced by Grammy Award winning producer/engineer Chuck Alkazian (Pop Evil, Soundgarden, Tantric) at legendary Pearl Sound Studios (Asking Alexandria, Eminem, Filter), and it also features Ted Nugent drummer Jason Hartless plus a kick-ass solo from Ratt guitarist Jordan Ziff. Originally slated to be a live performance and conceptual video, the band, consisting of Rob Dexter (vocals, bass), Steve Bell (guitars, vocals), Joe Lopez (drums) and Bill Kania (guitars, vocals), decided to take it to the next level with an old creepy doll lyric video, given the current health situation.

Give Me A Reason 11/6/20
LA rockers Bullets and Octane’s brand new single and today's Video Of The Day, 'Give Me A Reason', is an audacious anthem with a hooky chorus that shines, which is taken from their new album, 'Riot Riot N Roll', that was released at the end of last month through Bad MoFo Records/Cargo Records UK. Backed up by their strong songwriting abilities, dedication and determination to their craft, 'Riot Riot N Roll' also features 'Ain’t Gonna Be Your Dog', co-written with ex Buckcherry guitarist Keith Nelson. Bullets and Octane toured extensively for their previous album 'Waking Up Dead', reminding us that music can still be straight to the point, efficient, honest and exciting, so brace yourself for this next chapter.
Red White & Blue 11/6/20
Today's Track Of The Day, 'Red White & Blue', is the first single from the new Ron Keel Band album 'South X South Dakota', recently released by HighVolMusic/HVM Entertainment. The song was a Top 30 hit for Lynyrd Skynyrd in 2003, shortly after the 9/11 attacks, and Keel feels the song resonates just as loudly now as it did then. His Southern roots run deep, having been born in Georgia and gotten his start in Nashville before landing on the Sunset Strip in the middle of the 80’s Hollywood heyday. Evolving into what has become known as the Metal Cowboy, Keel has spent most of the past two decades combining his passions for Heavy Metal and Country music into a hybrid style that sounds surprisingly like… you guessed it: Southern Rock!
Monsters Of River & Rock 10/6/20
Adrian Smith, the legendary lead guitarist of 100-million-album-selling band Iron Maiden, is well known in the Maiden community as a fisherman, and a former cover star of coarse-fishing bible the Angler's Mail (biggest chub of the season, August 2009). In his first, very personal, riverside memoir, 'Monsters of River & Rock', out on Thursday 3rd September, Smith takes us with him on his incredible journey, through the highs and lows of life on tour, and on the river-bank, as his fishing gear travels with him across the world. Charming, funny, and moving in equal measure, 'Monsters of River & Rock' is the ultimate fishing-fantasy armchair read, and is also the story of a Rock star in a fast-moving world who seeks peace and tranquillity at the water’s edge – wherever he is.
The Ritual Begins At Sundown 10/6/20
The legendary guitarist and songwriter of The Doors, and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Robby Krieger, will be releasing his first solo album in 10 years on Friday 14th August, namely ‘The Ritual Begins At Sundown’, of which his new song, 'Hot Head', is today's Video Of The Day. Returning for his 9th solo album and his first since 2010's Grammy nominated ‘Singularity,’ the album also features Frank Zappa alumnus Jock Ellis (trombone), Sal Marquez (trumpet) and Tommy Mars (keys), as well as AeB Bryne (flute), Vince Denim (sax), Chuck Manning (sax), Joel Wackerman (drums) and Joel Taylor (drums).

Country Rock Church 9/6/20
There’s a lot of current talk about the crossover between Country and Rock, which makes now the perfect time for the ground-breaking 'The Outsiders' by Eric Church and his band to be getting a re-issue via Snakefarm Records this Friday 12th June. The most successful Country album of 2014, it's a true statement of intent, defining the North Carolina story-teller’s view that song-writing shouldn’t be restrained by convention or by style. Indeed, ‘The Outsiders’ was boldly blurring those Rock/Country lines six years ago, with tracks such as ‘That’s Damn Rock & Roll’ plus the title song showing that Eric and his band needed no encouragement to move into the Rock ‘n’ Roll fast lane.
Worlds Beyond Paralydium 9/6/20
Initially known as The Paralydium Project, Paralydium's first EP release in 2015 was highly regarded in the Progressive Metal community, and it's long awaited follow-up, ‘Worlds Beyond’ (Video Of The Day), out this Friday 12th June, will be one of the Prog Metal albums of 2020. Founded by John Berg, the guitarist wanted to create a mindbending sound comprised of an innovative mixture of hard hitting heavy riffs, textured landscapes and powerful grooves. With influences ranging from Symphony X and Pagan’s Mind to Seventh Wonder and Dream Theater, this debut album shows that they have swiftly developed their own sound and recorded a set of expertly crafted melodic, rhythmic and powerful songs.

This Friday 12th June, guitar legend Steve Hackett releases a remastered edition of the much-lauded 'Genesis Revisited: Live at The Royal Albert Hall' album, of which 'Dancing With The Moonlit Knight’ is today's Video Of The Day. Originally recorded at a sold-out show in October 2013 and released through Inside Out Music in 2014, it was about time this unforgettable gig featuring all the Genesis classics and special guests like Ray Wilson, Amanda Lehmann, Roine Stolt, John Wetton and others, receives a proper vinyl release. In addition to that, this 2020 remaster will be made available as a digital album, too, allowing all Hackett fans to revisit this great event.
Caligula's Horse Rise Radiant 8/6/20
Caligula’s Horse, a leading light in contemporary Progressive Metal worldwide, released their fifth album ‘Rise Radiant’ last month via Inside Out Music, of which their third single, ‘Valkyrie’, is today's Track Of The Day. Comprised of 8 tracks, it's produced by the group’s Sam Vallen, and mixed by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Devin Townsend Project, Leprous), and the record is their most focussed and potent artistic statement to date. Hailing from Brisbane, ‘Rise Radiant’ is an uncompromising exploration of the human experience dressed in vivid musical colour and virtuosic performances. It is an anthem for the regeneration of self-belief, an exploration of the themes of legacy, and a rallying cry for survival.
Haxan CD Review 7/6/20
"High energy female Hard Rockers Haxan have a message for their Rock mothers Girlschool. They’re saying “Were taking your 80’s Rock ‘n’ Roll, mixing it up with some 70’s Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow (featuring Ronnie James Dio), dressing it up for the present and pronouncing we’re going to be the new kids on the block!”
Today read another one of our self-isolating album reviews, as Geoff C. this time gives you his take here on Haxan's new CD 'White Noise', which is due to be released on Friday 24th July, plus check out our Video Of The Day. Remember, if you are currently kicking your heels and you fancy doing a self-isolation CD review, then don't be shy, just e-mail us at wrinklyrockers11@aol.com

I Am Korny 7/6/20
Whatever it is I Am Korny got in exchange for his soul at the crossroads: his new album 'Sleep Ain’t Paying My Dues' released last Friday, and today's Track Of The Day, speaks of a very striking bargain. The phantoms and the dreamers, the heroes, and the villains, the brave and the desperate all find their home in his songs. His is the music of an outlaw perceiving his otherness, not as a burden but a crown. Thus, every maverick since the dawn of Rock ’n’ Roll is walking by his side. Just like Nick Cave, like the Black Keys or Alberta Cross, I Am Korny is distilling the American dream and the American nightmare, the promises of the West, and the myth of that endless land into murder ballads about the underbelly of love.
Stephen Norman Priest 6/6/20
"Signing off with 'Fox On The Run' they return for the mightiest of encores and staples of every partygoers repertoire - 'Blockbuster' and 'The Ballroom Blitz'. 'Blockbuster' was the Sweet’s only UK number 1 but is probably eclipsed by the Blitz, the finest air guitar track in the land, as the track of the night." That was part of our take last Christmas at Andy Scott's Sweet gig at London's Islington Assembly Hall, and despite the absence of original bass guitarist Steve Priest, who died on Thursday at the age of 72, the night was testament to the band's undoubted musical legacy and longevity - indeed they were much more than a Glam Rock band. Therefore today's Video Of The Day is dedicated to Priest. "Are You Ready Steve?"

Ash Return 5/6/20
It was definitely a case of old suspects on a new course when Ash Return released their debut album 'The Sharp Blade Of Integrity' at the beginning of last month. After the sudden end of Miozan, it become obvious to four members of the band that giving up was not an option, although to continue under the same name wasn't even up for debate. However, out of the ashes, Ash Return were determined to remain true to the classic Hardcore style of the late 80's, in that the new sound would be combined with classic Metal influences à la Iron Maiden. Consequently Tank, Kniffel, Gerrit and Outso found frontman Johnny from true Metalheads Gloryful, subsequently inventing their own brand new genre, "Swordcore", and now are ready to escape the ashes, as testified by every single one of the album's stylistically wide-ranging songs.
Doughnut Pyramid 5/6/20
Experimental UK Pop-Proggers Kitten Pyramid, aka Scott Milligan, return with a surprise new song, and today's Video Of The Day, 'Doughnuts', which is also appropriately National Doughnut Day, plus the first track to be taken from their second album 'Koozy!', due out next March. Seven years on from their acclaimed self-released debut 'Uh-Oh!' and five years since the ambitious 'High Five Scuba Dive' EP, 'Doughnuts' sees the Burton-on-Trent singer-songwriter-and-all-sorts-of-other-thingser, drop a reflective hymn to the importance of real people, ordinary lives and the march of time. Starting with soft chanting by Scott's family-and-friends choir, the track then follows a simple piano melody through subtle steam-engine percussion and 'A Day In The Life' drums, building to a brass and strings-laden climax, as Milligan details the "same old, same old" waiting for trains, domestic humdrum, the bedtime routine.

A real master Bluesman and a phenomenal songwriter who's music straddles, Blues, Americana, Rock and lo-fi Pop, Nigel recorded, produced and mastered all parts himself on this innovative track at his own Wonderland Studios West.
Rews Album Review 2/6/20
"The album continues as it started with crunchy thumping base lines and anthemic vocals, which does, however, present a danger of the tunes seeping into your sub-consciousness resulting in involuntary insomnia and humming along at 4am! ‘Love Hate Song’, ‘Monsters’ and ‘Play Dead’ are all capable of doing just that. The album finishes with a subtly more refined track - ‘Habits’ with a slightly less intense vibe, which concludes the album nicely and encourages me to flick the “Repeat Play” button to the on position."
Today read another one of our self-isolating album reviews, as Chris Bourlet this time gives you his take here on Rews' second album ‘Warriors’ out on Friday 7th August via Marshall Records, plus check out our Video Of Of The Day.

The track was co-written with long-time producer Kevin Shirley and songwriter Pete Brown, known for his many collaborations with Cream and Jack Bruce. Bonamassa has long been influenced by the Rock 'n’ Roll royalty that came out of the 60's and 70's, and when fans hear 'When One Door Opens' they’ll feel it more than ever. Recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studio in London, the impact of the history and culture of those studio walls is captured entirely in this song.
