BBA Voting Closes Tonight! 30/6/16

Yes you have until midnight tonight to study the British Blues Awards finalists here and choose your favourites in each category. Suffice to say that the WRC are supporting this year's awards by sponsoring the Lifetime Achievement Award category!   The presentation to the winners will take place at the Newark Blues Festival on Sunday 11th September. In the meantime check out our Vid Of The Day of BluesRockFest headliner Stevie Nimmo - a finalist in the Best Male Vocalist category!

BBA Track Of The Day! 30/6/16

And talking of the British Blues Awards - today's Blues On The Radio Track Of The Day includes music from the finalists in the 'Song Of The Year' and 'Band of The Year' categories. Host Richard Dunning also featured music from The Rainbreakers (pictured) ahead of their gig earlier this week at The Tuesday Night Music Club.

Cavern Photo Gallery Available! 30/6/16

American Blues Rock guitarist Joe Bonamassa  launched his series of British Blues Explosion concert's, at Liverpool’s famous Cavern Club last Monday - which pays homage to some of his musical inspirations including Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page! Check out today's new Photo Gallery here.

Chris Antonik To Tour UK 29/6/16

Making his debut UK tour, award-nominated Bluesman Chris Antonik (Vid Of The Day) is a rising star of the Canadian Blues scene. During his UK tour - which includes The Bulls Head, Barnes on Monday 18th July - he will be performing songs from his respected back catalogue as well as songs from his forthcoming new album, due for release in 2017. Blending innovative, thoughtful songwriting with stunning Blues guitar work, some music critics have drawn comparisons between Chris and Eric Clapton. Chris was then nominated for Best New Artist in 2011 at Canada's Maple Blues Awards and guests on his second album 'Better For You' included two-time Grammy award-winner Mike Mattison (The Derek Trucks Band, The Tedeschi-Trucks Band), American Blues Music award nominee Shakura S’Aida, Juno award-winners Steve Marriner (MonkeyJunk) and Julian Fauth, as well as Canadian music luminaries Suzie Vinnick and Richard Underhill.

Zamba Blues Band 29/6/16

Exactly a week ago we featured Power Blues band Zamba - winners of the 5th Croatian Blues Challenge - as our Vid Of The Day! So it was nice for us to receive the other day a very kind message from Boris (Zamba) himself! "I wish to thank you so much for making my song 'Love' a video of the day. It means so much to me. It's written for the people and now they could listen to it. I have a new song 'I'll Never Be Your Man' out. Probably gonna make a video for it in the end of the summer. Anyway, I really appreciate everything you did." You're more than welcome Boris - and just to let your music do the talking - today's Track Of The Day is a video of his latest single 'Goin' Home'!

Biff Byford Q&A Session 29/6/16

It is now just under a month until Ramblin' Man 2016! We understand that they've been putting the finishing touches to the site, getting wristbands, signs and other little bits and pieces printed and it's all getting a little exciting. Meanwhile, they've been confirming some new talent over on the Artist Bazaar, confirming some great treats for you to imbibe over the weekend along with unique instruments for you to try out and some killer bikes for you to enjoy. Indeed Saxon legend Biff Byford (pictured at Ramblin' Man last year) will be hosting a Q&A session at the Artist Bazaar on Saturday 23rd July!

Another Brick In The Wall! 28/6/16

American Blues Rock guitarist Joe Bonamassa joined a host of named legends as he received his brick in The Cavern ‘Wall of Fame’ yesterday ahead of his intimate Cavern gig later in the evening - which we were lucky enough to attend! Bonamassa’s free show at Liverpool’s famous cellar club was a thank you to his British fans for the support they have shown him through his career. Joe launched his series of British Blues Explosion concert's, which pay homage to some of his musical inspirations including Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page, the latter two who already also feature in the Cavern’s ‘Wall of Fame’! Check out today's Vid Of The Day with more photos and a review to come.

Rainbreakers At TNMC Tonite! 28/6/16

As well as a slew of superb new releases, host Richard Dunning will also be playing tracks from the Finalists in the 'Song Of The Year' and 'Band of The Year' categories in The British Blues Awards on his Blues On The Radio show here at 5pm tonight. With public voting finishing on Thursday 30th June - this is your final chance to make that decision and cast your votes here. Rich will also be featuring music from The Rainbreakers (pictured) ahead of their show tonight  at The Tuesday Night Music Club, Hooley Village Club, St. Margaret's Road, Hooley Village, Coulsdon, Surrey, CR5 3RB. So a packed show with two hours of the best music you could possibly wish for and very little time for chat!

Never Mind ‪#‎Brexit‬. We're Gonna ‪#‎RocksIt‬! 28/6/16

That was the message from Route 66 host Rory Auskerry ahead of Sunday night's show. As we know - Rory is a man of his word as today's Track Of The Day testifies! Check out  new tracks from the Jimmy Bez Blues Band, Mollys Daggers and Jared James Nichols (pictured) plus classic rock hits from Steve Miller Band, Deep Purple (1968-1976) and Van Halen.

Mersey Beat! 27/6/16

Unlike some WRC members - we can't pretend that we were at London's Borderline nor Poole's Mr. Kyps in 2006 to see some American guitarist named Joe Bonamassa. Although to be fair, we were at Shepherd's Bush Empire for that wow moment in February 2008 and consequently went to see Joe again at Liverpool's Carling Academy in July that same year. Eight year's down the line and many gigs later, including The Royal Albert Hall, we are returning to Liverpool and its iconic Cavern Club  - as we have the privilege of seeing JB at an exclusive gig tonight. So watch out for a review, photos and vids over the coming days!

Inglorious At Big Reds Tonite! 27/6/16

If there is a down side to seeing Joe tonight (surely not?), then not only are we missing the England game (probably a good thing) but we are also missing Ramblin' Man Saturday Main Stage openers Inglorious tonight (see our Download Vid Of The Day) at the first of two 'Road to Ramblin' Man' FREE gigs at Big Reds on Holloway Road, London. The second gig is Sunday's Blue Stage's Tax the Heat on Friday 15th July.

Mailman Brings More Blues! 27/6/16

This week's Black On Blues Track Of The Day includes Guy Verlinde, Jack Roberts Band, Jason Vivone & The Billy Bats, Lol Goodman Band, Monkey Junk, The Ragpicker String Band and BluesRockFest's very own Robin Bibi (pictured)!

Welcome To Fat City! 26/6/16

"The venue lended itself perfectly to the interaction between the band and the punters - with the mighty Bishop delighting his army of fans by pointing to them and occasionally high-fiving! The recently released new single 'Not For Sale' with it's reminiscent opening 'Lizzy' riff - re-enforced the undoubted quality of the forthcoming 'WTFC' before they went for another classic from 'SS' - La Mano De Lucifer - Bishop's haunting guitar intro leading us down the garden path to more on stage horseplay complemented by compulsory head-banging! The title track 'WTFC' showcased the tightness of the band - highlighting the extraordinary bass and drums of the brothers Figueroa. If there is a frontman with better vocals or stage presence than Yeagley - then I have yet to see him - simply hypnotic - weaving and rocking his mic stand back and forth - cue his harmonica intro on 'The Necromancer'."

Download On Sky Arts Tonight! 26/6/16

The bad news is that part 1 of Sky Arts' coverage of this year's Download Festival was actually broadcast last night! The good news is that part 2 featuring headliners Iron Maiden and Rammstein, as well as Korn, Jane's Addiction and Deftones - is on at 9pm tonight! Anyway, check out Saturday headliners Black Sabbath's Vid Of The Day plus our review here and photo gallery here.

There's also music from Kris Barras, the Kaz Hawkins Band and all-time WRC favourites Nicky Moore & The Blues Corporation (pictured).

The previous evening the WRC witnessed a brilliant night of high octane Rock at the O2 Academy, Islington, from three great but different bands. With a review to come - check out today's Dirty Thrills (pictured), The Bad Flowers and Crobot Photo Gallery here. OMG!

Landslide Margin! 24/6/16

Blending Funk, Blues, Metal and good old-fashioned Rock 'n' Roll into a howling vortex of dirty groove Rock, Crobot specialise in endless good time Rock hooks that sound as inspired today as they would have on AOR radio in 1974! Anyway, the O2 Academy Islington punters last night cast off their 'Referendum Blues' with a massive "yes" vote on an evening which also saw impressive support from both The Bad Flowers and Dirty Thrills. With a review and more pics to come - check out today's Vid Of The Day!

Blues Club Open Its Doors 24/6/16

This week's Blues Club Podcast Track Of The Day has another two hours of non-stop Best in Blues with More Music and Less Chat. Mostly Blues with Rock, Acoustic, R&B/Soul, Jazz, Swing, UK IBBA Presenters' Picks, New Releases and favourite Classic Tracks - the play list this week features Buddy Guy, Stevie Nimmo, Little Boys Blue, ANA Popovic, Royal Southern Brotherhood, Catfish, Big Wolf Band, Tinsley Ellis, Josh Hoyer & Soul Colossal, Richard Townend & The Mighty Bosscats, RootBone, Bahama Soul Club, Matty T Wall, Wily Bo Walker, Kaz Hawkins Band, Brenda Boykin, Cry Baby and The Hoochie Coochie Boys, Kris Barras Band (pictured), Julie Rhodes, Allen Toussaint, Elam Mcknight, The BluesBones, The Blues Spiders, Two Blue Band, B. Vote Crobot! 23/6/16

"Yeagley's vocals, stage presence (and harmonica on 'The Necromancer')  were immense, Jake's antics were reminiscent of Animal from The Muppets playing bass, Bishop is literally huge (and more importantly plays a mean guitar) whilst Paul's driving drums pulled it all together. Bravely, they did play some new stuff though - particularly towards the tail end with 'Edge Of The Sun', 'Hold On For Dear Life' and 'Upon A Pale Horse' - but finished off an awesome night returning to 'SS's 'Fly On The Wall'." That was part of our review the last time we saw Crobot at The Underworld last November (pictured). Tonight we get away from the 'Referendum Blues' by seeing them live at the O2 Academy Islington supported by The Bad Flowers (Vid Of The Day) plus Dirty Thrills who we introduced in August last year!

Lifetime Achievement Award For WRC 23/6/16

Well that's not entirely true! Suffice to say that the WRC are supporting this year's British Blues awards by sponsoring the Lifetime Achievement Award category!  You have until next Thursday 30th June 2016 to study the finalists here and choose your favourites in each category. The presentation to the winners will take place at the Newark Blues Festival on Sunday 11th September.

Jared James Nichols Hits Route 66! 23/6/16

On this week's Route 66 show, host Rory Auskerry chats to Wisconsin bred guitarist Jared James Nichols about his tour with Walter Trout, his new single and album plans. Today's Track Of The Day also features a new track from Swedish rockers Brain and Rory gives the new Jeff Beck single a second spin too. Along with this week’s music news, there are classic tracks from Meat Loaf, The Kinks, AC/DC (pictured), Dire Straits, The Beach Boys and Fleetwood Mac.

U2 Tribe Set List To Be Auctioned! 22/6/16

We think that a mention of this year's Wrinklystock V taking place at the Mick Jagger Centre, Dartford on Saturday 26th November is well overdue!  Headliners Limehouse Lizzy continue to keep the spirit of Celtic rock icon Phil Lynott and his band Thin Lizzy alive, well and dominating stages worldwide. Meanwhile, special guests U2 Tribe, have not only been entertaining audiences all over the UK and Europe since 2010, but the band members are also passionate U2 fans! They will also be auctioning their set list in advance of the night to raise money for our nominated charities. Watch this space! Anyway, make sure you order your tickets now priced £22 here in order that you don't miss out!

Croatia Qualify! 22/6/16

During a week where both the 2016 Euros footie continues and Mr. Rockrpix was deservedly mentioned in despatches by Sari Schorr no less - it was  perhaps fate that Mr. Bull contacted us recommending Croatian Blues! "Have a listen to this guy … Boris Zamba from Croatia - really liked him when I saw him in Italy, when he was at the Blues Challenge (pictured). Need to get him over here!" Given today's excellent Vid Of The Day John - we're sure that Wrinkly and WRC Promotions are already on the case mate!

Knockin’ On The Blues Door 22/6/16

This week's Black On Blues Track Of The Day is another popular Blues women special featuring Malaya Blue (pictured), Markey Blue, Amanda Pearcy, Slinky, Angel Forrest, Shirley Johnson, Eden Brent and Val Starr & The Blues Rockets.

Ferra's Allstars In Town! 21/6/16

The last time Dave Ferra played The Tuesday Night Music Club he was 'assisted' by some rather fine musicians including Dudley Ross doing his best Albert Collins (see our Vid Of The Day). Whatever happens tonight at 8.30pm at the Comrades Club, 194 Brighton Road, Coulsdon, Greater London, CR5 2NF - you know it's going to be fun when Dave and his Allstars are in town! Get on down there!

Friends Old and New on ROTR! 21/6/16

Bob & Jules signed off on Saturday night with another awesome Rock On The Ridge show before a well earned vacation! 100 Up! 20/6/16

What a great night we had at London's 100 Club just under two weeks ago with headliners Tommy Castro & The Painkillers plus acoustic support from Sari Schorr & Innes Sibun. Anyway, today's Track Of The Day is our June Wrinklycast - an interview with Sari backstage before her set (during Tommy's soundcheck).  Take ten minutes out and listen to amongst other things -  Sari's Jazz influences, an exclusive re: her new album plus how the New Yorker misses her pet dogs! With a review still to come, please also check out our Photo Gallery here.

Road To Ramblin' Man! 20/6/16

We hold our hands up and admit we missed Inglorious (Vid Of The Day) at Download! The good news is that to celebrate some of the cracking up and coming talent we will see at Ramblin' Man Fair - we bring you news of the launch of two 'Road to Ramblin' Man' gigs! The first - Saturday Main Stages openers - Inglorious who will be playing on Monday 27th June. Second up, Sunday's Blue Stage's Tax the Heat will be gracing the stage on Friday 15th July. Both shows are at the one and only Big Reds on Holloway Road, London, and are FREE ENTRY!

Don't Forget The Horn! 20/6/16

With all the talk about BluesRockFest - do not overlook the fact that WRC Promotions has a bonus gig the following day - Sunday 25th September - at The Horn in St. Albans. The line-up includes two bands from the previous day - namely 2015 WRC Award winners The Mentulls and Blacktop Deluxe - the added bonus being the superb Rainbreakers who graced BluesRockfest last year. To purchase tickets please go here.

Deep Blue Sea 19/6/16

Times they are a-changing. In November last year, 2014 WRC Award winners Little Devils decided to re-group. Yoka and Ray left the band, whilst bassist and main songwriter Graeme Wheatley (pictured) continued with Sara on drums and guitarist Chris Walker jumping in. Due to other commitments, Sara stepped down to be their deputy drummer and Dave Powell (Adele, Mumford & Sons etc.) joined on the hot seat plus Muzz whose powerful voice brings a new range to Little Devils songs - her soulful feel defying her tender age. So, new line up = new band = new name - it's a sea change, ladies and gentlemen, so say hello to the ...... Deep Blue Sea - today's Vid Of The Day!

McCullough & Gallagher On The Marsh! 19/6/16

It might well sound like a firm of solicitors but both Henry McCullough and Rory Gallagher were featured on Friday night's Blues On The Marsh show. Today's Track Of The Day also includes music from  Dana Gillespie and the London Blues Band, Kjell Gustavsson Rhythm and Blues Band, Hitman Blues Band, The Blue Chevvys, Jimy Grahame, Kaz Hawkins, The Mighty Mojos, Albany Down (pictured), Richard Townend and The Mighty Bosscats, Elles Bailey, Ramblin' John Jennings, Uphill by Uphill, Al Lerman, Honey Island Swamp Band and Dino Baptiste.

Jolly Replicants! 19/6/16

Make a note in your diary for next Saturday 25th June when The Replicants play the Jolly Farmers at 7 Purley Road, Purley, Surrey CR8 2HA from 9.30pm - midnight and it's free entry! The guys recently played the Caterham Street Festival (pictured) on the Beat on the Street stage outside Butlers in the High Street!

Earlybirds Lucky 13!! 18/6/16

Don't forget that midnight 30th June is the final deadline for BluesRockfest Earlybird Tickets on sale here for £15 (instead of £20). So you have just 13 days left to purchase your ticket and save yourself a fiver - once they're gone they're gone! We're also delighted to announce that our official Festival sponsor at this year's BluesRockFest on Saturday 24th September at Leo's Red Lion, Gravesend - is Strongbow!

No More A Secret 18/6/16

Talking of BluesRockFest, Richard Dunning's guest earlier this week live in the Croydon Radio studio, ahead of his appearance at The Tuesday Night Music Club, was BluesRockFest's very own Robin Bibi. Today's Blues on The Radio Track Of The Day celebrates the launch of Robin's new album 'No More A Secret' with a chat plus play tracks from the album which is due out on Friday 8th July. There's also of course  time for the IBBA albums of the month and a whole stack of new releases - two hours of great music, chat and all the news of the Blues!

Hatz Get Close In Kettering! 18/6/16

Following the launch of their new album 'Get Close', our mates Geoff Carne & The Hatz (our Vid Of The Day),  are playing the Kettering B&M Festival today. The West London based duo consisting of Geoff Carne (guitar and vocals) and Mick Hatz (drums and percussion), are putting a fresh new feel on the Rock/Blues genre with their exciting original material (with a couple of covers).  See you there!

"Rammstein Shaded It" 17/6/16

Today we complete our 'Drownload' coverage thanks to another Wrinkly - Rob - who endured the whole weekend! "Just got back. Enjoy the rain at "Downpour"? Me, I added to the wrinkles by camping. It was grin and bear it time. Thought Rammstein shaded it just from Sabbath with Iron Maiden getting the bronze (my opinion). Enjoyed all the bands I saw, but too old for all the rain and mud. Food and beer a bit pricey but great atmosphere."  Thanks Rob - there you have it! Anyway check out today's Vid Of The Day, read our review here and see our photo gallery here.

Thank God It's Friday! 17/6/16

It's Friday so today's Track Of The Day must be The Blues Club Podcast with two hours of non-stop Best in Blues with More Music and Less Chat. Mainly Blues with Rock, Acoustic, R&B/Soul, Jazz and Swing, New Releases, Classic tracks, UK IBBA Presenters' Picks and more - the music this week includes Keb' Mo', Stevie Ray Vaughan, Tommy Castro (pictured), Stevie Nimmo, Darran Poole & Rootbone, The BluesBones, Tinsley Ellis, Shaun Murphy, Kaz Hawkins Band, Kris Barras Band, Cry Baby and The Hoochie Coochie Boys, Little Boys Blue, Lisa Mann,  Billy Walton Band, TBelly, Albert Castiglia, Marino De Silva, Red Butler, Richard Townend & The Mighty Bosscats, Tape Five, Rhythm Zoo, Nina Simone, Club Des Belugas, Mario Biondi, JoJo Effect, Al Lerman, Paul Carrack, Nick Moss Band, Guy Tortora,  Kat Kings,  B. B. & The Blues Shacks and more.

Bandits At The Venue Tonight! 17/6/16

After a hugely successful 2015 on both sides of the Atlantic, wowing crowds from LA to London, Jess And The Bandits have enjoyed partying with their fans up and down the UK in 2016 and tonight are playing at 229 The Venue, London. With their debut album 'Here We Go Again' having reached number six on the official country charts, they returned to the recording studio in January to work on new material for their new 'Sophomore' album. On their second headline tour in April, the band treated their fans to new material without the wait. Expect more of the same tonight!

Drownload MudFest! 16/6/16

"However, the undercard highlight of the day was purely fortuitous - and we had the rain to thank for that. It was now pissing down so we headed back to the cover of The Dogtooth - which coincided with the sound check of The Shrine from Venice Beach, California. Billed as Psychedelic Violence Rock and Rollers - if lead singer and guitarist Josh Landau's sound check anecdotes were as good as their set then we were in for a treat. With Courtland Murphy on bass and Jeff Murray on Drums, the guys smashed it with a nod to Sabbath, Lizzy and The Who from their latest album - the appropriately named 'Rare Breed' - the set ending with Landau being lifted on his back into the crowd still playing an amazing guitar solo. Mental - but we loved it. Do not miss them if you get a chance."

Read the rest of AJ's 'Drownload' review here, plus see our photo gallery here and our Vid Of The Day.

Route 66 In A Spin! 16/6/16

On this week's Route 66 Track Of The Day, host Rory Auskerry spins a new track from Jeff Beck (pictured with ZZ Top) and Rock Alliance plus live music from Michael Schenker's Temple Of Rock, John Mayer and the BluesBones.

The WRC reached another milestone yesterday with our 1,500th follower on Twitter! So if you're not following us at the moment then why not help us head towards the 2,000 mark!

Download Catch Up! 15/6/16

The bad news was that we missed last Saturday night's Rock On The Ridge Download special because we were err .. at Download! The good news is that we can now catch up as today's Track Of The Day is that very same show featuring Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Deftones, Rival Sons, Raveneye, Ingorious, Scorpion Child, Black Peaks, Nightwish, Grand Magus, Jane's Addiction, Monster Truck and more! Also watch out for our Download 2016 review coming shortly.

Voodoo Rockin' The Blues 15/6/16

Given everything that has been going on recently at Wrinkly Towers, we could be forgiven for not mentioning another WRC Promotion taking place on Saturday 3rd December at Leo's Red Lion in Gravesend. Well let's put that right straight away as Sugarman Sam & The Voodoo Men (one our LastMinuteBandz) are headlining this Christmas gig with support from The Voodoo Sheiks. Tickets are available here.

Belushi's Blues Business 15/6/16

Blues Business, who opened at our very first BluesFest in 2013, are playing a showcase gig at Belushi's in Camden, London, from 7pm this Sunday 19th June. Special guest saxophonist Dale Gabbard will also be  joining the band from Tampa, Florida's, premier band Blue Dice. The guys had the pleasure of the Blue Dice 'Horn' section playing with them on their Tampa, USA, tour back in 2012!

Download From The Heavens! 14/6/16

OK it was wet, wet, wet but Download was a first and another off of the bucket list for the WRC as we took in both Saturday and Sunday at Donnington Park. With a review to come - today we set the scene with our photo gallery here which tells the story of an unforgettable weekend - warts and all!

Springsteen Magic 14/6/16

"There’s no point in trying to convert anyone to the virtues of Springsteen they are there for all to see – regular followers know he will take to the stage with little fanfare and deliver around 4 hours of Springsteen magic. The great thing is that no two concerts are the same except for the fact it is clear that even at the age of 66 he still has boundless energy, amazing enthusiasm and a genuine love for his fans new or old. Tonight was to be no different as he engaged continuously and at close quarters with the fans who adore him. I detected that The Boss may not have been very well but did he moan about it - not once because it was the fans night out and nothing was going to spoil that."

Read the rest of Wrinkly's Springsteen Wembley Stadium review here, check out our photo gallery here plus our Vid Of The Day!

It’s Cookin’ In Alaska! 14/6/16

Today's Black On Blues Track Of The Day includes tracks from Ben Hemmings, Georgie Bonds, Guy King, Howlin Matt, Joe Rusi, John Jackson, Josh Smith and Last Chance Saloon.

Mud, Mud, Glorious Mud! 13/6/16

Sorry but it's all down to the mud gremilins that today's update was only posted this afternoon! As they say, all good things come to an end - and who better to bring the curtain down on Download 2016 than Iron Maiden! Despite the apalling weather, Bruce & the boys signed off in style on a day when we also took in Saxon. Anyway,  check out today's Vid Of The Day, watch out for pics tomorrow plus a brief review later this week.

Sunday Bloody Sabbath! 12/6/16

As it turned out, given their recent announcement of a farewell tour in January - it wasn't Black Sabbath's anticipated swan song on The Lemmy Stage at Download in the end last night - but it was still worth the trip up the M1 to see these rock and roll hall of fame residents! On a day that the weather was so unkind, we took in Rival Sons, Slaves (US), Megadeth and The Shrine (pictured). Check out today's Vid Of The Day, watch out for pics tomorrow plus a brief review later this week.

Maiden Over! 12/6/16

To be honest. tonight is the very first time that the WRC have seen Iron Maiden live as they headline Download's 'Lemmy Stage'. If it's as good as their last album 'The Book Of Souls' then we are in for a treat. Also on the WRC itinerary today are The Franklys (pictured), The Temperance Movement, Halestorm, Disturbed and Saxon

Stand & Deliver! 12/6/16

According to The Marshman, Friday night's show was not only in the bag but one of the best he'd done!! Of course, Kev was right as this week's Blues On The Marsh Track Of The Day included tracks from JD and The Short Shots, Ian Anderson, Ben Hemming, Howlin' Stone, Khalif Walters, Sammy Kershaw, The Blue Chevvys, Wily Bo Walker feat. Danny Flam and Friends, Benjamin Bassford, Terri Odabi, Tinsley Ellis, John Long, Chris Duarte Group, Tim Lother and Holga HoBo Daub, The Blind Boys of Alabama, The Deep Blue Sea (Graeme Wheatley), Rootbone, Ida Bang and The Blue Tears, Albert Castiglia, Corey Dennison, Shirley Johnson, Lady A, Mescalito Blues, and Katie Webster and Black Cat Bone.

Saturday Bloody Sabbath! 11/6/16

The first time the WRC saw Black Sabbath was at the Killburn Gaumont State in London in November 1975. We were six rows from the front and our ears are still ringing! The last time we saw Sabbath was at British Summer Time in Hyde Park in 2014. Well Ozzy and the boys are headlinining 'The Lemmy Stage' at Download tonight and we will be there as we also attempt to take in Inglorious (Vid Of The Day), Scorpion Child, Megadeth and Skindred. Give us a shout if you are also going!

Sunshine Valley! 11/6/16

Further to last month's official launch of the new Blacktop Deluxe (Track Of The Day) line up - we're delighted to announce that their sponsor at this year's BluesRockFest on Saturday 24th September at Leo's Red Lion, Gravesend - is Sunshine Valley Holiday Villa (pictured) - based in Clermont, Florida! And don't forget that there are still a few remaining Earlybird Tickets on sale here for £15 (instead of £20).

Fox In The Box 11/6/16

It was good to hear recently from our old mucker Wrinkly The Silver Fox who also saw AC/DC at London's Olympic Park last Saturday night. Not only did WTSF go with Replicants lead guitarist Stu O'Brien (hope your head is better now Stu) but a few days later he also went to see Foreigner at the London Palladium - check out his excellent pics here.

Let There Be Rock! 9/6/16

"Late on, the rest of the stage blacked out, and Angus Young turned 'Let There Be Rock' into a staggering display of endurance. Dripping with sweat, the Glasgow-born guitarist writhed on the floor like a Scots salmon, playing his guitar  as if his life depended on it. Mesmerising is the only word I can find to describe it.. He was everywhere, throwing himself around, duck-walking on top of the speaker cabinets and generally being Angus. Brilliant..."

We Love You! 9/6/16

What a great night we had on Tuesday at London's 100 Club with headliners Tommy Castro & The Painkillers plus acoustic support from Sari Schorr & Innes Sibun. Sari not only kindly allowed the WRC to interview here backstage before the gig (during Tommy's soundcheck) but she also posted yesterday the following tweet which we very much appreciated: "@WRINKLYCLUB thank you for your continued support and for coming to the show last night. We love you!" Anyway with that interview and a review to come, in the meantime check out our Photo Gallery here

Down & Out On Route 66! 9/6/16

Today's Route 66 Track Of The Day features the excellent new album from Albany Down 'The Outer Reach' (pictured) which is out this Friday 10th June. Host Rory Auskerry also talks to lead singer Paul Muir about this third album release, their ongoing tour and plans for the future. Also on the show, a new track from Christopher Shayne, a Blues Rocker from young guitarist Quinn Sullivan plus Rory celebrates the birthdays this week of ZZ Top drummer Frank Beard, Steve Vai and Boz Scaggs.

President Castro! 8/6/16

Our third WRC gig in four days and the standard was still very high! Last night we got a bargain two for one at London's iconic 100 Club with headliners Tommy Castro & The Painkillers plus acoustic support from Sari Schorr & Innes Sibun (see today's Vid Of The Day).  Respectively, both the American Blues, R&B Rock guitarist and singer, and the Blues Hall of Fame singer and songwriter, entertained a very appreciative audience. Watch our for a review, an interview and more pics shortly.

Thanks Wrinklies You Rock! 8/6/16

The WRC were delighted to hear from Pieces of Mind guitarist Vic Johnson after they were featured on BBC Four’s 'The UK’s Best Part-Time Band' last Friday night. We first introduced you to the guys in February 2015 when the band celebrated their 50th anniversary with a great new album of original stuff entitled 'Born At The Bosco' (pictured). Vic kindly messaged us "Hi thanks for the posting on your website and your comments. The show was awesome, the sound lighting, editing, everything! Rhod Gilbert was on The Graham Norton show on BBC1 and used a clip of us playing and the interviews we did to promote the show!! We had some great comments too!! Two national channels in one night!!! Got to be made up with that!!! Thanks Wrinklies You Rock!"

Bruce Springsteen Photo Gallery 7/6/16

Further to the amazing antics of 66 year old Angus Young the night before at London's Olympic Stadium, we witnessed the ultimate showman in the form of another 66 year old - Bruce Springsteen - at Wembley Stadium on Sunday night. The Boss was on stage for three and half hours and was the consumate of cool. Anyway, check out today's photo gallery here from another beautiful Summer's evening plus watch out shortly for a review from Wrinkly.

Habit Forming! 7/6/16

With all the gigs going on over this weekend, it's probabably fair to say that music is a bit of a drug for the WRC! Therefore it's most appropriate that were off to see headliners Tommy Castro & The Painkillers (see today's Vid Of The Day) at London's 100 Club tonight! The American Blues, R&B and rock guitarist and singer is supported by Blues Hall of Fame singer and songwriter Sari Schorr who's new band The Engine Room release a new album 'A Force Of Nature' on Wednesday 17th August on Manhaton Records which features Walter Trout, Oli Brown and Innes Sibun. Step forward The Boss himself with the usual 3 hour plus set at a very hot Wembley Stadium last night. Watch out shortly for Wrinkly's review plus more pics but in the meantime check out today's Vid Of The Day.

AC/DC Photo Gallery 6/6/16

Love him or loathe him - Guns N' Roses Axl Rose certainly stepped up to the plate alongside Angus and the boys for a memorable night of drivin' Rock - the very first gig at London's Olympic Stadium. Check out today's photo gallery here from a beautiful Summer's evening plus watch out shortly for a review from Wrinkly The Silver.

Todays Black On Blues Track Of The Day features another ever popular Blues women special. This week's playlist includes Eliza Neals, Lisa Biales, Jane Lee Hooker, Shaun Murphy, Michelle D’Amour And The Love Dealers, Diana Rein and Funkyjenn.

Marriage Made On The Highway To Hell 5/6/16

Suppose it's fair to say that the jury was out in advance of last night's AC/DC gig at London's Olympic Park given the shoddy nature of the departure of lead singer Brian Johnson in favour of Guns 'N' Roses frontman Axl Rose. Some said that Axl's ego was too big for the band - other's said that Rose's voice would be better suited to Bon Scott's era. Consequently tickets were returned (it wasn't sold out) but on the other hand the voyeurs in us had to check out this marriage made on the highway to hell - and who could not turn down this two for one offer? Anyway with a review and more pics to come have a gander at our Vid Of The Day.

An Offer We Couldn't Refuse! 5/6/16

"Surely national headlines of a 62 year old’s power being cut off would deserve the intervention of Age Concern? Also given Bruce was on stage at the time with Sir Paul McCartney – could not have Macca sent the proponents of this foul deed to the Tower? Even better perhaps - The Boss could have sent ex-Sopranos star and E Street Band (ESB) guitarist ‘Little Stevie’ Van Zandt around to make the organisers, the Council or whoever was to blame - an offer they couldn't refuse? Indeed Van Zandt later wrote on Twitter, "When did England become a police state?" Be afraid – be very afraid. Anyway, following an epic 3 hour plus set, this was a real Rock ‘N Roll moment, taking me back to the times when The Who’s sound cut out when they reached their allowed decibel level – and hey even Boris (the Mayor that is – not the Spider) described the decision to end the gig as "excessively efficacious" – whatever that means. However, let’s not allow this incident to detract from what was a truly memorable occasion." That was our WRC take on Bruce Springsteen at HRC Hyde Park just under four years ago and we're off to see The Boss again at Wembley Stadium tonight. A review, pics and a vid to come.

Replicants At Caterham Festival Today 5/6/16

If you're not going to Springsteen today then why not head on down to the Caterham Street Festival at 3pm today to see Wrinklystock heroes The Replicants (today's Track Of The Day) who will be on the Beat on the Street stage outside Butlers in the High Street.

For Those About To Rock .... 4/6/16

.... We salute you! Yes all roads lead to London's Olympic Park this evening as AC/DC plus a certain Axl Rose hit the stage at 8.15pm with support from Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown at 7pm.  Although we do hope that Axl's punctuality has improved since that infamous debacle at London's O2 Arena with Guns N' Roses four years ago. Anyway, the last time we saw AC/DC was at Wembley in 2009 (pictured) where we witnessed the mosh pits of all mosh pits and at a time when this website was just a twinkling in Wrinkly's eye! Mosh pits and mobile phone batteries permitting - watch for out for a vid, pics and a review shortly.

Schorr Thing! 4/6/16

The WRC first saw Blues Hall of Fame singer and songwriter Sari Schorr at her Surya, London, showcase gig at the end of 2015 (pictured). Sari and her band The Engine Room's new album 'A Force Of Nature' (see today's Vid Of The Day) is out on Wednesday 17th August on Manhaton Records which features Walter Trout, Oli Brown and Innes Sibun. Sari and Innes are also playing an acoustic set at London's 100 Club this Tuesday 7th June with Tommy Castro. See you there!

No Man's Land 2/6/16

Talking of Bruce - but this time Soord - it’s been a while, but the time has come for WRC favourite's The Pineapple Thief to finally come out of the studio and back into daylight! They have a new album 'Your Wilderness' coming out worldwide on Friday 12th August and recently Kscope released a full track 'No Man's Land' (today's Vid Of The Day) with Porcupine Tree's Gavin Harrison no less on drums! Watch out for more news about the album and future touring plans soon!

Two Hours Of The Best Blues Around! 2/6/16

Today's Track Of The Day sees Karena K joining Blues On The Radio host Richard Dunning a couple of days ago in advance of her showcase gig at The Tuesday Night Music Club. As well as chatting about all manner of musical things,  Karena played some of her favourite tracks plus of course there's the usual mix of IBBA albums of the month, great new releases and a few classics. Two hours of the best Blues around!

Better Late Than Never! 1/6/16

"First up were Lilith And The Knight, a 4 piece hailing  from London with Lilith on Vocals, Adam on guitar, Tom on bass and Francesco on drums. With the captivating Lilith fronting this Hard Rock and Metal band, LATK were just out of the studio where they had just recorded their first EP, which they duly aired on the night including their cracking new debut single 'Wake Up'. Fair play to the band as their infectious antics on stage was passed on to an appreciative audience - even finding time for a cover of Guns N' Roses 'Paradise City'. A great start to proceedings."

Read the rest of AJ's Lilith And The Knight, JOANovARC and Fire Red Empress review here plus check out our photo gallery here and our Vid Of The Day!

Big Bad Wolf! 1/6/16

Big Wolf Band (today's Track Of The Day) are an exciting and powerful 5 piece Blues band from Birmingham who perform a mixture of originals written by front man and guitarist Jonathan “Big Wolf” Earp as well as their take on a few classics. Influenced from an early age by listening to old records of Blues legends such as Pete Green, Albert Collins, Freddie King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, BB King, Gary Moore, Rory Gallagher, Jimi Hendrix and many more - his love for the Blues began. Their news single 'Stop Right Now', originally recorded back in 2014, has been reworked, remixed and mastered by industry legend Jon Astley who has produced, recorded and mastered some the greats of our time like Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, The Who and many more!
