Joining host Richard Dunning in the Croydon Radio studio here at 5pm tonight - prior to her showcase gig at The Tuesday Night Music Club, Hooley Village Club, St. Margaret's Road, Hooley Village, Coulsdon, Surrey, CR5 3RB - is Karena K (todays Vid Of The Day). They'll be chatting about all manner of musical things and Karena will be playing some of her favourite tracks. Then of course there'll be the usual mix of IBBA albums of the month, the greatest new releases and a few classics. Two hours of the best Blues around!

JJ Grey & Mofro Photo Gallery 31/5/16

As promised, today we have Mr. Rockrpix John Bull's Photo Gallery here, following JJ Grey & Mofro's gig at London's Union Chapel on Saturday night.  Following the release of their uplifting new album 'Ol’ Glory' - we think John's pics truly reflect JJ Grey’s intensely charismatic live performance, combined with the incredible musicianship of Mofro!

Sizzling Track Of The Day! 31/5/16

The sun has been out, Route 66 host Rory Auskerry has been at a BBQ and the tunes are sizzling hot on today's Track Of The Day! Check out new tracks from Albany Down (pictured and who are playing London's 100 Club tonight), Albert Castiglia and the Honey Island Swamp Band. Also on the show, Rory celebrates the birthdays this week of two members of the Rolling Stones; Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood, and two members of Led Zeppelin; John Paul Jones and the late John Bonham. There's also a really cool track from Tasmanian rocker Rob Tognoni and classic tunes from Jeff Beck, Chuck Berry, Lonnie Mack and Aerosmith.

One AC/DC Ticket Going Spare! 30/5/16

With just six days to go to AC/DC's gig at The Olympic Park, London, this Saturday 4th June - the WRC has one standing ticket going spare. So if you would like the opportunity of seeing Angus & Axl (check out today's Vid Of The Day) - then please e-mail us at wrinklyrockers11@aol.com for further information.

Bringing The Brits Back Home! 30/5/16

Today's Black On Blues Track Of The Day is an all British affair! This week's playlist includes The Dave Thomas Band, Robin Trower (pictured), Ritchie Dave Porter, Paul Jones, Paul Rose, Mike Vernon and John Mayall!

Cool Gig Guys! 30/5/16

That was the verdict of Mr. Rockrpix John Bull following JJ Grey & Mofro's gig at London's Union Chapel on Saturday night.  Their uplifting new album 'Ol’ Glory' contains 12 new songs that feature the deep, soulful blend of Blues, Rock, Folk, Funk, Gospel, gritty R&B and personal, Southern-inspired narratives that have become synonymous with JJ Grey & Mofro. Watch out for more of JB's pics over the coming days!

Speaking Frankly! 29/5/16

"Picking out individual songs for special mention is difficult, but 'Bad News' was a typically thunderous piece of no-nonsense rock ‘n’ roll, with rock hard riffs and powerful vocals, reminiscent of early Black Sabbath. 'Comedown', the band’s latest single, was a cautionary tale from the edge with a message of empowerment.  The Franklys played it with an electrifying swagger and metallic crunch.  'You Go I Leave' started with a steady, rhythmic beat, soon complemented by a powerful guitar riff and strong, wailing vocals, building up to a creative crescendo."

Robin Live On The Marsh! 29/5/16

Today's Track Of The Day is the Blues on the Marsh show originally broadcast by host Kevin Beale on Friday night. The Marshman's playlist this week includes The Hitman Blues Band, Hot Tin Roof, The Blues Rebels,  Junior Parker, Beige Fish, Richard Townend and The Mighty Bosscats, Royal Southern Brotherhood, Kaz Hawkins, La Bedoune, Kyla Brox, Toronzo Cannon, Will Johns, Matt Andersen, The BluesBones, Howlin' Stone, Poplar Jake And the Electric Delta Review Band, Guy Clark and Corey Dennison. There's also track from BluesRockFest's Robin Bibi (pictured) who is live in the Channel Radio studio this coming Friday at 7pm.

Barnstorming Pics! 29/5/16

As promised today we have our photo gallery here from the barnstorming Barnstormers gig at the Turk's Head Twickenham on Friday night. Rock classics including 'Sweet Home Alabama', 'Superstition' and 'Alright Now' filled the night air on a beautiful Summer's evening by the River Thames!

Ol' Glory! 28/5/16

Celebrated soulful ensemble JJ Grey & Mofro (Track Of The Day) are playing London's Union Chapel tonight following the release of their uplifting recent album 'Ol’ Glory'. 'Ol’ Glory' contains 12 new songs that feature the deep, soulful blend of Blues, Rock, Folk, Funk, Gospel, gritty R&B and personal, Southern-inspired narratives that have become synonymous with JJ Grey & Mofro. A true Southern renaissance man, JJ Grey’s intensely charismatic live performances, combined with the incredible musicianship of Mofro, have connected with audiences all over the world. 'Ol' Glory' was recorded at Retrophonics Studio in Saint Augustine, FL, where Grey has tracked many times.  An avid surfer, Grey often spent the mornings at the beach and the afternoons recording, a formula that has proven very effective in creating inspired recordings!

Road To Twickers! 28/5/16

The WRC were lucky enough to be invited to a behind doors gig in Twickenham last night. Needless to say it was a briiliant evening which not only featured The Barnstormers consisting of Michael Schenker's Temple Of Rock singer Doogie White, former FM favourite Andy Barnett, former Praying Mantis drummer Benjy Reid and seasoned bassist PJ Phillips but also our good mate Dave 'Bucket' Colwell (Bad Company) and 1987 Wimbledon champion Pat Cash on guitar (check out our Vid Of The Day with a few more pics to come as well).

Get Along To Defest This Weekend 28/5/16

We might be wrong but we have a sneaky feeling that there will be no WRC Award winning Rock On The Ridge show tonight! The good news though is that you will probably catch Bob & Jules at this weekend's Defest at DeStafford School playing fields in Caterham, Surrey -  2 days of music and fun for the whole family. Why not go down - gates open midday!

Blues Club Sponsor Stevie Nimmo! 27/5/16

Following on from our recent news that Vape Pod were our very first BluesRockFest band sponsor - we're delighted to announce that our mates at The Blues Club Podcast are our second band sponsor - kindly supporting headliner Stevie Nimmo! So what better way to celebrate this than by featuring Stevie as our Vid Of The Day and the latest Blues Club Podcast as our Track Of The Day? And just a reminder that BluesRockFest at Leo's Red Lion is on Saturday 24th September and there are still a few remaining Earlybird Tickets on sale here for £15 (instead of £20).

Rebels Stick To Their Guns 27/5/16

We announced last Sunday news of another WRC Promotion featuring Broken Witt Rebels here at The Proud, Camden on Thursday 20th October. In the past few weeks, the buzz around the self-released, Birmingham Blues Rock band has reached a deafening roar. So much so that the band have rushed out new single 'Guns' to capitalize on fan driven interest. It all started when a live version of previous single 'Low' was uploaded to their Facebook page, within four days the video had amassed an impressive 130,000 views. This caught the attention of viral content geniuses Buzzfeed, who invited the band into their offices to play a live streamed gig for their 1.3m strong Facebook group, part of their Music Breaks Series. Just when it seemed like it couldn’t get any better, the 'Guns' video was elevated to the front page of YouTube - the video amassing over 100,000 views in less than one day!

"So, How Far Will Sari Go? ........ 27/5/16

....... Somewhere towards the top of the glass ceiling of the Blues, for certain, as she is a genuine talent.” Not only was that WRC correspondent Darren Weale's verdict on New York Blues Hall of Fame singer and songwriter Sari Schorr following her Surya, London, showcase gig at the end of 2015 (pictured) - but this WRC strapline is currently being used on Sari's promotional material for this year's UK tour! We're not worthy! Sari and her band The Engine Room's new album is out in August which features Walter Trout, Oli Brown and Innes Sibun. Sari and the guys are also playing London's 100 Club on Tuesday 7th June with Tommy Castro.

'Til The Dawn 26/5/16

"Born Healer's 'Til The Dawn was bought on recommendation of a friend, so I started to listen with an open mind and oh boy what a cracker. It begins with 'Pressure Valve', a song which sets the scene for the album, from the opening drums the journey that you get carried away on by stupendous guitar work and accompanied with haunting vocals, that are reminiscent of an early Elkie Brooks, leaves you wanting for more."

Read the rest of WRC member Stuart Broderick's Born Healer 'Til The Dawn' CD review here plus check out our Track Of The Day.

Frankly My Dear ... 26/5/16

All roads lead to The Borderline tonight to see The Franklys (Vid Of The Day) - an all girl rock 'n' roll band based in London - 50% Swedish, 25% British, 25% American, 100% rock ’n’ roll! This four piece force of nature features a rhythm section as solid and driving as an army tank, which consists of all-American drummer Nicole Pinto and home grown talent Zoe Biggs on bass.  Fronting up the quartet like a pair of firecrackers are Swedish pair Jen Ahlkvist (lead vocals and rhythm guitar) with her bitter sweet and ever so edgy vocals, and Fanny Broberg (lead guitar), contributing double-barrelled screaming guitars and melodic guitar hooks, lending a rich variety to the styles and sounds that cascade off the stage. Support is from False-Heads + King Korea.

Just Under 2 Months To Ramblin' Man! 26/5/16

As the nights are drawing in and the days are getting longer, we are now only just 2 months away from the gates opening to Ramblin' Man Fair 2016. It's set to get bigger and bigger with the announcement of their Artist Bazaar along with their Ramblin' Man Food Fair. Also there's a Friday night pre-show gig at the Maidstone Leisure Centre with WRC favourites Leogun opening the show for Outlaw Country Stage's Hogjaw and legendary Thin Lizzy men Ricky Warwick & Damon Johnson. The show is a stones throw from both the campsite and Glamping at The Ranch and is selling out fast!

A Design For Life 25/5/16

"The Manic Street Preachers have gone back 20 years to celebrate their triple platinum selling game changing record 'Everything Must Go' that scored them their first commercial success, and the mood is one of some kind of homecoming.  Gritted teeth ode to the working class 'A Design For Life' arrives straight after James Dean Bradfield plays the rest of the band onto the stage with 'Elvis Impersonator: Blackpool Pier', rousing the crowd to their feet in an instant."

Read the rest of Wrinkly The Silver's Manic's Royal Albert Hall review here plus check out today's Vid Of The Day.

Flying Solo! 25/5/16

Bad news was that there was no Jules on the WRC Award winning Rock On The Ridge show on Saturday night - but the good news was that Bob was there. Today's Track Of The Day has tracks from Rory Gallagher, The Stone Roses, Alice Cooper, Blacktop Deluxe (pictured), Grand Magus, Blue Oyster Cult and new music from Luna Kiss and Davy's Gripp, plus loads more!

Hatz Add New Tour Date 25/5/16

Just to let you know that Geoff Carne & The Hatz have added another gig to their tour promoting their new 'Get Close' album. So make a note in your diary of Didcot Live Beer, Cider & Music Festival in Oxfordshire on Saturday 11th June or go to the their LastMinuteBandz page here.

The Bad News & The Good News ... 24/5/16

Unfortunately Ruby Tiger has gone down with a viral infection resulting in the loss of her voice. As such she has had to pull out of her show at The Tuesday Night Music Club tonight. At this late stage it was impossible to schedule an alternative artist (and more importantly give them the promotion they deserve) - so there will be no TNMC this week. We  wish Ruby a swift recovery but the good news is that next Tuesday 31st May at Hooley the magnificent Kareña K (Vid Of The Day) and her band will be performing and the WRC will be there!

Star Tours! 24/5/16

As promised on this week's Route 66 Track Of The Day - check out a couple of tracks from the new solo Eric Clapton album 'I Still Do'. Host Rory Auskerry also plays new tracks from Doomsday Outlaw, Welsh guitarist Bedwyr Morgan and Sussex based Blues guitarist Sam Jefferson. Along with the music news, Rory spins some John Fogerty (pictured by the WRC at Hyde Park in July 2012), Queen, Slash, Tony Spinner, Ted Nugent and Bob Dylan. Oh, and Chewbacca makes an appearance in poorly masked attempt at becoming a viral internet sensation!

Reading Festival Tickets Still Available! 24/5/16

Just to clarify that the two Reading Festival weekend tickets one of our WRC members wants to sell, as he now cannot make the gig, cover Thursday to Sunday inclusive, with an option for early entry on the Thursday! The Festival takes place between Friday 26th August – Sunday 28th August in Richfield Avenue with Foals headling the main stage on Friday, Red Hot Chilli Peppers (pictured) on Saturday and Biffy Clyro on Sunday. Please message us through the contact box below if you are interested and we will put you in touch.

Time To Reinvent Tradition! 23/5/16

"You must have seen that Toyota Advert featuring Primal Scream and 'Movin On Up'? The one with the audience going wild as the band rock out on stage playing with their cellos and double bass?  We're challenged to "redefine fun" and "it's time to reinvent tradition". The irony was not lost on me as Dick Dynamite strolled on to the Borderline stage last Monday with his double bass in tow - supported by his Doppelgängers - namely Loz Hawkins on guitar and Aitor 'Sleepy' Gonzales on drums. Their frenetic delivery was very much in line with their Facebook profile "sociopathic bastards from a planet on the far side of the sun. Some say they play music, the truth is much more sinister..." but the intense Phsycobilly from the half-naked DD&TD's went down well with their home town crowd as they beat the s**t out of their last CD 'Dead Man Walking'. More like waking the dead but definitely redefining fun!"

Motor Bikin' 23/5/16

The WRC were delighted to receive from American author Kimberly Bright, a copy of her Chris Spedding bio.  The book is available on Amazon as a Kindle edition, but Kimberly has kindly said that we are more than welcome to share our copy with any WRC members who are interested in reading it - although as a thank you, we will remind you that tips are welcome via PayPal! Sometimes described as "to the left of Dave Edmunds and to the right of Brian Eno" and "the best guitarist you've never heard of", Spedding has played on over 200 recording sessions for a wide spectrum of flashes-in-the-pan and renowed artists such as Paul McCartney, Donovan, Elton John, John Cale, Katie Melua and Bryan Ferry. As a producer he has worked with the Sex Pistols, Dee Dee Ramone, the Nils, and the Cramps. He also found time to enjoy Top 20 success in the UK with his own 1975 hit 'Motor Bikin' (our Vid Of The Day). This biography of an underrated, reluctant guitar God will make you reconsider what you think about Rock music!

Cruising Down The Blues Highway! 23/5/16

Today's Black On Blues Track Of The Day is another Blues Women special. The incredible line-up this week includes Diana Rein, Debbie Bond, Bridget Kelly, Anni Piper, Beth McKee, Amanda Pearcy, Ebony JoAnn and

Candy Kayne (pictured).

"They Didn't Seem All That Wrinkly To Me" 22/5/16

We had this very kind Facebook posting from Big Boy Bloater following his knock out gig at the 100 Club last Sunday: "Heeeey, here's another great review of Sunday night at The 100 Club - this time by the well named Wrinkly Rockers Club (although I did an interview with them before the show and they didn't seem all that wrinkly to me!). ENJOY! Cheers for the support WRC - much appreciated!" Cheers Bloater - and as promised - today's Track Of The Day is our May Wrinklycast interview  - warts and all! Hope you like it!

Two New WRC Promotions Announced! 22/5/16

After a few glitches WRC Promotions had to cancel our Summer Mini-Fest at Leo's but promised we would announce something exciting in the near future and we like to carry out our promises! Therefore, we are absolutely delighted to announce that Broken Witt Rebels (our Vid Of The Day and who will be at this year's Isle of Wight Festival) will be appearing under the WRC banner on Thursday 20th October at The Proud in Camden and on the following night at Leo's in Gravesend! Supporting them on both shows will be the Kris Barras Band who have just released their critically acclaimed 'Lucky 13' album. And if that isn't enough - local favourite Damo Fawsett and his band Big River will be on the bill at Leo's! Tickets for the Camden gig are now on sale here and for the Leo's gig here.

Physical Graffiti - Slowhand 22/5/16

No this is not the new Route 66 logo pictured - in fact this piece of graffiti was actually spotted on the walls of Pure Towers this week by host Rory Auskerry! Anyway, tune into the show here tonight at 6pm to find out more plus you can also listen to a track from Eric Clapton's new album 'I Still Do'.

"Four An Lovin' It !" 21/5/16

That was the recent message from Blacktop HQ! Yes May saw the official launch of the new Blacktop Deluxe line up after some teasing, pre-launch and shots - mostly taken during their studio time in April. The signature brand of guitar-driven Blues Rock remains - with singer/guitarist Keith Howe at the forefront of the action but now flanked by another six-stringer, GB Bartlett, adding nitrous to the fuel line. So expect an added... dose of lead guitar when it comes to this year's BluesRockFest and the Blacktop solos! But this machine is four-wheel drive, and powering from the back is the new rhythm section of Jamie Fyffe on drums and Dean Kennedy on bass. Indeed, the new line up have not only already recorded a new single to be put out soon as a free download via the band website, but they have also been nominated in the 'Emerging Artists' category of this years 'British Blues Awards' - How cool is that?

And Now For Something Completely Different! 21/5/16

Well who are we to turn down a rallying call for ageing rockers, prog rockers, the mildly curious and Tull fans everywhere especially in the north of England? Cold Flame have announced a new Jethro Tull (our Vid Of The Day) tribute show - a welcome return for the band - live in concert at The New Roscoe music venue in Leeds on Sunday 5th June at 8pm. Cold Flame throw caution to the wind in a two hour special featuring the band performing the flute driven prog rock blues of Tull. Expect to hear a selection of Tull electric and acoustic classics mixed with rarely heard delights. Locomotive Breath here they come. Advance tickets are now available here.

Award Nominee Delivers! 21/5/16

On the evidence of last night's Blues On The Marsh show, you can tell why The Marshman has been nominated for the third year running in the British Blues Awards! Anyway Kev certainly delivers on today's Track Of The Day with tracks from Hitman Blues Band, Howlin' Stone, The Bluesbones (Nico De Cock), Kaz Hawkins Band, La Bedoune, Poplar Jake and The Electric Delta Review, The Blues Rebels (Andy Watts), Hot Tin Roof, the four IBBA Picks of the Month, Kyla Brox, Matt Andersen, Toronzo Cannon and Will Johns. There are no less than two world exclusives from John Schiessler (Beige Fish) and Richard Townend and The Mighty Bosscats  plus two birthday celebrations for Taj Mahal and Big Joe Turner and a track remembering the late great Guy Clark.

Full House At Borderline! 20/5/16

The WRC bumped into our (old) mates Dom O'Riley of Shooter fame and ex-Bad Company guitarist Dave 'Bucket' Colwell at the JOANovARC Borderline, London, launch party gig on Wednesday night. Congratulations to 'Bucket' who recently got married and you've guessed it - the happy couple booked the excellent JOANovARC for their wedding reception - praise indeed. Anyway watch out for news of an interview with Bucket over the coming weeks plus his Full House gig at The Half Moon on Thursday 4th August. In the meantime check out both our gig photo gallery including Lilith And The Knight and Fire Red Empress here plus we turn back time with our Vid Of The Day!

The Church Of Big Boy Bloater 19/5/16

"It’s not actually ‘Rocket Surgery’ is it? Well actually it was as BBB&LT’s delved back to their first album with this fast mover plus also ‘Sweet & Brown’ – the guys getting up a full head of steam by now as – “Hallelujah” – we were welcomed to “The Church Of Big Boy Bloater” – cue the gospel interaction with the Bloater congregation. “You guys are good” being Preacher Bloater’s response. The 100 Club was now rockin’ and yes we were ‘Insanely Happy’ bopping away to this track again from ‘The World Explained’.  And the day after Eurovision 2016 – even if the intro to ‘Big Fat Trap’ sounded a little bit like Abba’s ‘Ring Ring’ – Bloater went on to prove he is the “King Of Twang” on this belter from BBB&TL’s debut album."

Read the rest of our Big Boy Bloater & The LiMiTs 100 Club review here plus see our photo gallery here.

George On The Radar 19/5/16

Blues On The Radio host Richard Dunning was delighted to welcome Sunderland legend George Shovlin to the studio earlier this week ahead of his showcase gig with The Radars at The Tuesday Night Music Club straight after the show. George played some of his favourite songs and spoke about his plans for world domination with The Radars. And as if that wasn't enough, Rich exclusively reveals on today's Track Of The Day the finalists in the 'Band Of The Year' category at this year's British Blues Awards plus of course there's also some great music taking up the majority of the show!

White Trash! 18/5/16

JOANovARC - a four piece force of nature - release their epic and empowering single 'White Trash' on Friday 10th June through Red Vixen Records. The lyrics for 'White Trash' express how JOANovARC have overcome many hurdles, always carried on striving to achieve their dreams and never given up. Describing themselves as ‘Puss In Boots’ JOANOvARC recorded 'White Trash' at the legendary Rockfield Studios, with producer Gil Norton (The Pixies, Foo Fighters) encapsulating and distilling perfectly JOANovARC’s live energy. Today's Vid Of The Day tell’s the tale of a woman fulfilling her dream and making a choice to change her life - released in advance of JOANovARC’s forthcoming debut album later this year. And yes - we will be at the official label launch party at The Borderline in London tonight with Lilith And The Knight and Fire Red Empress also on the bill!

Today's Track Of The Day also takes a look at the week’s music news, celebrates some important Rock and Blues birthdays and host Rory Auskerry spins a couple of ‘first plays’ with new tracks from The Rides and Dan Patlansky (pictured).

100 Up For Big Boy! 16/5/16

Big Boy Bloater and The LiMiTs released their new album 'Luxury Hobo' at the end of February and the band began their tour this week which included a show at the iconic 100 Club in London last night. With a fascination for textures and subtle narratives 'LH' sees Bloater in a tougher, deeper and more expressive mode following a bout of depression in 2013 which has led it to take a lot darker and personal tone. His Tom Waits-esque gravelly vocal delivery, coupled with the distinctive and dynamic guitar style has seen him build on the Blues foundation offering insights into rockier territories, aided and abetted with his ability to weave story-telling around barbed observations. Watch out shortly for a review, more pics and  an interview - but in the meantime check out our Vid Of The Day.

Hillbilly Moon At Borderline Tonight! 16/5/16

The suave Hillbilly Moon Explosion released their new album ‘With Monsters and Gods’ last Friday and all road leads to The Borderline, London tonight as part of their new tour. THME’s last single 'My Love For Evermore' has become a phenomena with dozens of fans comparing tattoos on the band’s Facebook page with the songs inspiring at least 30 cover-versions and nearly seven million of views on Youtube! A half-English 4-piece hidden away in the unlikely habitat of Switzerland, they’ve honed their craft without distraction for many years.  Searching for the right sound, they’ve previously recorded in San Diego, Camden and Tooting, but for this album they went back to the local Swiss studio where they made their early Rockabilly albums, allowing more time to get it spot on!

Remembering Candye 16/5/16

This week's Black On Blues show is dedicated to the late, great Candye Kayne who sadly lost her long fight with cancer last week. As well as tracks from Candye - today's Track Of The Day also includes music from Anthony Charles & The Blue Dolphins, Big Walter Horton, Charlie Sales & The Blues Disciples, Chris O’Leary, Crooked Eye Tommy and Curtis Salgado.

It Came Outta The 100 Club! 15/5/16

"Robot Girlfriend further reinforces BBB's thoughtful lyrics intertwined with a mean BBB' Blues guitar solo but 'All Things Considered' proves that BBB also has 'Soul' in his locker - again with its soulful backing vocals. BBB&TL's - including Matt Cowley on drums and Steve Oates on bass guitar - literally pick up on the opening pace of 'LH' with the closing track 'Not Cool Man' - once again with it's awesome keys, guitar and lyrics including the line "he's a nose picker" - you can't accuse those guys of not being entertaining!  Well Luxury Hobo is cool man - now a staple on my personal play list - can't wait to see them at the 100 Club!"

Read the rest of Big Boy Bloater's 'Luxury Hobo' CD review here - however, all roads lead to London's Oxford Street tonight - so watch out for a review, pics, a vid and even an interview over the coming week!

One of our WRC members has two weekend tickets he wants to sell as he now cannot make the gig. Please message us through the contact box below if you are interested and we will put you in touch. In the meantime, it gives us an opportunity to go back in time to the 1981 Festival with today's Track Of The Day (via Youtube) and a certain Bruce Dickinson fronting the much underated Samson.

Tadstock 2016 14/5/16

And still on the subject of Festival's - a good friend of the WRC asked us to give Tadstock 2016 a mention - which takes place between 26th – 29th August at Kencot Hill Farm in Gloucester. Since partnering with Cheltenham based charity CCP and their music driven initiative – Studio 340, Tadstock has evolved to extend the support and opportunities available to aspiring young musicians, artists, technicians and a myriad of other roles by providing a professional festival experience for everyone to flourish in. Whilst the festival welcomes friends, families and music lovers from all walks of life and location, Tadstock gives young people supported by CCP the opportunity to showcase their musical talent and expand their knowledge and experience in a safe, inspirational and encouraging environment.

New England Blues Summit Starts Today! 13/5/16

So how many WRC members are going to the New England Blues Summit weekend taking place at Cape Cod Resort & Conference Centre from today? Indeed, the WRC were tagged on Facebook by USA WRC member Dave Riley late last year about the event which includes Friday headliner Samantha Fish and Saturday headliner Joe Louis Walker (today's Vid Of The Day) - who won Contemporary Blues Male Artist at the 37th Blues Music Awards recently - the fifth Blues Music Award of his career and the third time he has won Contemporary Blues Male Artist - the first one was in 1988!

Concert Of A Lifetime! 13/5/16

And on the subject of Festivals happening over on the other side of the pond - a once-in-a-lifetime concert will take place in Indio, California, from October 7th to October 9th when six of the world’s most iconic and influential Rock and Roll artists come together for Desert Trip. The three night concert kicks off Friday night, with The Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan and his Band, followed on Saturday night by Paul McCartney and Neil Young + Promise of the Real, with the weekend coming to a close on Sunday night with Roger Waters and The Who. Friday The 13th! 13/5/16

The bad news is that it's Friday the 13th - but the good news is that the Blues Club Podcast returns with another two hours of non-stop Best in Blues with More Music and Less Chat: Blues, Rock, Acoustic R&B/Soul, New Releases, UK IBBA Presenters' Picks and Classic Tracks. Today's Track Of The Day includes Shaun Murphy, Curtis Salgado, Kaz Hawkins Band (pictured), Joe Cocker and Moreland and Arbuckle.

It’s time for a second round of British Blues Exhibition showcases at The Proud Camden tonight following the success of the first one headlined by Pete Brown on St. Patrick's Day! On this occasion, special guests from the U.S. join top British acts to celebrate the lasting heritage of the Blues - so hop on board the Transatlantic Blues with Union Jack and Uncle Sam to see The Laura Holland Band, Sister Cookie and The Right Reverend Swifty Lezarre - plus Swing Patrol London who will be returning to make sure everybody's dancing! Doors open at 6.30pm.

Revved-Up Adams! 12/5/16

"Steeped unashamedly in the realms of Dad Rock, the 56-year-old Adams performed a selection of the biggest hits from his 13-album catalogue with remarkable energy, repeatedly high tailing it from one end of the stage to the other during several guitar solos. There were also a few less-well-known, fan-requested numbers and some material from his 13th and  latest album, for form’s sake, all of which were politely received by the crowd. But it was clear, and he didn't do much to hide the fact, that this was a night mostly geared at the revved-up rockers in his catalogue."

And talking of WRC Award winners - not only are The Mentulls on the playlist - but they are also today's Vid Of The Day. Gibraltar Rocks! 10/5/16

Fingers crossed that our usual website service will return to normal tomorrow. However, would you believe that whilst on vacation - Wrinklystock 3 heroes The Bohemians boarded AJ's cruise ship at Gibraltar performing Queen's greatest hits at two knock-out gigs (pictured) in front of four thousand passengers! Consequently our Vid Of The Day takes us back to the MJC, Dartford, in 2013 whilst our Black On Blues Track Of The Day is another Women In Blues special.

Joining Blues On The Radio host Richard Dunning live in the studio last week, ahead of his appearance at The Tuesday Night Music Club, was the great Troy Redfern who starred at BluesRockFest last year. On today's Track Of The Day Troy chooses the music and chats plus Rich has all the great new releases and the Independent Blues Broadcasters Associations picks of the month. A day later than usual - because of our hols - today's Track Of The Day is the latest Blues Club Podcast featuring Joe Bonamassa, ELO, Richard Townend and Rebecca Downes. Halfway To Islington! 5/5/16

"Bummer" was our US correspondent Rick Menniti's reaction to missing Neil Young at a very wet Jazz Fest - take a look at our Track Of The Day to see why. At least The Revivalists made the front page Rick. Meanwhile the WRC are off to the O2 Islington Academy tonight for Halfway To New York's album launch. Check out our Vid Of The Day - 'Bleed' - the opening single from 'Tremor'.

Catfish On The Ridge! 4/5/16

.... Well that's not exactly true - but despite our reduced service this week, today's Vid & Track Of The Day throws up the valued combination respectively of both Catfish (who are playing at this year's BluesRockfest) plus Saturday night's Rock On The Ridge (winners of our 2015 WRC Best Radio show award). Enjoy!

New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival 3/5/16

"Well, it was a wet one. First year I had tickets for all four days, but only made three out of four. Thursday: rained (Jan says a torrential storm) from 11.30am until 3pm. Waded to Jazz Fest at 2pm - got there to hear one last song from Sonny Landreth, settled in for Gary Clark Jr. and the skies cleared. Tedeschi Trucks, with Jimmy Vaughn and Billy Gibbons joining, with horns and  back up singers - counted over 12 people on stage - was a 2016 Jazz Fest highlight. Caught the last few songs of Elvis Costello, including 'Pump It Up', to end the day. All in all a wet but good day."

Read the rest of Rick Menniti's take on last weekend's New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival here plus check out our Vid Of The Day!

Do Not Adjust Your Set! 3/5/16

It was a bit like old times when the WRC took in both Run For Cover (Classic Rock Covers) and Glamstar (today's Track Of The Day) at The George Staples Pub in Blackfen, Kent, last Saturday. And unlike the old days, when we used to review all the bands for the local paper - we took the night off as the WRC are in holiday mode this week! Don't worry - we will still have updates - but expect normal service to be resumed at Wrinkly Towers next Wednesday!

Sound Of Silence 1/5/16

You certainly wouldn't associate Wrinkly The Silver with the sound of silence or indeed being disturbed! Seriously it was good to see the bearded one back gigging at London's O2 Arena for Jeff Lynne's ELO the other night following major back surgery. Suffice to say that WTS thought this Simon & Garfunkel Vid Of The Day cover was epic - and who are we to argue? And if any of you would like to nominate a Vid or Track of the Day - or contribute anything else for that matter - then please get in touch through our message box below!
