Fleetwood Mac - Rock Of Ages! 31 May 2015

Maybe Fleetwood Mac will still be doing what they do 20 years from now. It wouldn’t surprise me writes Wrinkly The Silver. They lived through peak self-destruction, through the decades when bands were losing members left and right to the side effects of 20th century music culture, lived through the years when fame sounded a lot like a death knell. They endured more fractures in public than many people have to deal with in private. But Fleetwood Mac were lucky. They made it out.

You can read the remainder of Wrinkly The Silver's superb review here - in the meantime our Vid Of The Day is footage from the O2 Arena, London gig.

Chantel On Route 66 Tonight! 31 May 2015

Just a reminder that you can hear 2014 WRC Award Winner and BluesRockfest headliner Chantel McGregor being interviewed here on Pure Radio 107.8FM at 6pm tonight. Yes it's now just under five weeks to go so listen to Rory Auskerry's Route 66 show to find out what's lying in store on Independence Day!  Tickets for Bluesrockfest at The Red Lion in Gravesend are on sale here for £15 in advance (£18 on the door). And if you don't manage to listen in tonight then don't panic - we will feature the podcast as Track Of The Day later this week!

Beale On The Blooooze Again! 31 May 2015

No live guests on our latest Blues on the Marsh Track Of The Day but as usual Kevin 'Marshman'  Beale promises "a whole lot of that there Blooooze music!" A truly international show as always - most of which forms one new London band comprising French, Italian, Greek and British musicians - The Wang Dang Doodle! There's also Anne McCue, Billy Price and Otis Clay, The Black Sheep, Blues Engine, Bobby Messano, Charles Wilson 'The Crown Prince of Soul', Dave Hunt, Doug MacLeod, Guy Tortora, King King (pictured), Root Doctor, Sugarman Sam & The Voodoo Men, Victor Wainwright and The WildRoots, Magic Dick and Jay Geils - plus some classics from T. Bone Walker, Elmore James, Dr. Ross, and Larry McCray. Phew!

Rock And Roll! 30 May 2015

Was it a case of 'Dazed And Confused' or a 'Whole Lotta Love' as the WRC took in 'Hats Off To Led Zeppelin' at The Brooklyn Bowl last night under the the umbrella of the O2 Arena, London. The advance hype was not only were they the official UK No.1 Tribute to the Gods of Rock and Roll but are also the only Tribute act in the UK officially endorsed by Marshall amplifiers and they are managed by none other than Warren Grant .. for the uninitiated, his father Peter was Led Zeppelin's manager! Anyway for starters our Vid Of The Day is from last night's gig - but watch out for more pics and a review coming shortly!

Legends Of Rock! 30 May 2015

Saturday offers a plethora of quality gigs starting with our friends Nazareth who are playing Legends Of Rock at East End Park, Dunfermline alongside Big Country. Staying in Scotland, our old mucker Larry Miller (pictured) is not only playing the O2 ABC Glasgow tonight but is also playing Back Stage at The Green Hotel, Kinross tomorrow night (no doubt WRC member Keith Baxter will be ecstatic). Meanwhile at Camden Rocks, WRC favourites Eureka Machines (our Track Of The Day) are playing The Cuban at 6.30pm plus our friends Walkway are on at the Jazz Cafe at midday. Phew!

"Keep Rocking Girls & Boys!" 30 May 2015

Alternatively if you just want a night in listening to great music then tune in to Rock On The Ridge between 8pm and 10pm here tonight! Hosts Bob & Jules tweeted us on Thursday "Have a great show lined up for Saturday, more later. Keep rocking boys and girls @WRINKLYCLUB" - so there you have it - and if you want to help us increase our Twitter following to a nice round 500 then please go here!

Don't Keep Us From The Gallows Pole! 29 May 2015

Yes tonight is WRC gig night - all roads leading to the Brooklyn Bowl under the O2 Arena, London big top. It's the WRC's first visit to the new BB venue plus it's the first time we have seen 'Hats of To Led Zeppelin' - so we are eagerly anticipating a great evening. Give us a shout if you are going or if you see us there - in the meantime today's Track Of The Day is another HOTLZ acoustic track - the classic 'Gallows Pole'!

The Perfect Storm! 29 May 2015

Today's Video Of The Day is another Virgil & The Accelerators vid taken by Steve Borkowski at their Red Lion, Gravesend gig at the beginning of the month. For ticket information on all the bands that are playing simply go here and remember if you are a WRC member just go here where you can not only get a £3 discount off your ticket but you can find all the other current members offers including Ramblin' Man!

Go Your Own Way! 28 May 2015

Yes Fleetwood Mac were back at the O2 Arena, London, last night on the latest leg of their 'On With The Show Tour' and our very own roving correspondent Wrinkly The Silver was their to witness it with Mrs. WTS in tow! What makes this tour all the more special is the return of Christine McVie, who has been absent from the band now for sixteen years, along with Stevie Nicks on vocals, Lindsey Buckingham on lead guitar, John McVie on bass and, despite undergoing countless band member changes over the years, drummer Mick Fleetwood has remained a constant. Fleetwood Mac have continued to share quality rock music with fans for almost fifty years now and their classic album 'Rumours' routinely creeps up in the ‘Best Albums of All-Time’ - so watch out for WTS's take on the gig over the coming days. In the meantime our 'Video Of The Day' was taken on the 2014 American leg of their tour.

Hats Off To Led Zeppelin! 28 May 2015

Officially our next WRC gig is the Foo Fighters in June - but hey, we couldn't wait that long - so we have sneaked in a bonus gig this Friday - our first visit to the Brooklyn Bowl in London!  And it's none other than the Official UK No.1 Tribute to the Gods of Rock and Roll! Yes - 'Hats Off To Led Zeppelin' are proud to be the only Tribute act in the UK officially endorsed by Marshall amplifiers and they are managed by none other than Warren Grant .. for the uninitiated, his father Peter was Led Zeppelin's manager! Anyway give us a shout if you're going and in the meantime our Track Of The Day is HOTLZ's cover of 'Going To California'.

Get Stoned At The Eel Pie! 28 May 2015

We very much doubt that you will ever see them at The Mick Jagger Centre, Dartford, but tonight punters at The Eel Pie Club, The Cabbage Patch, 67 London Road, Twickenham TW1 3SZ will get a chance to 'Get Stoned' on two hours of nostalgia as The Rollin' Stoned play the best of '64-69'! The Rollin' Stoned have been endorsed by Keith Richards’ mother as ‘outstanding and suitably fit stand-ins for the Stones’ and have also been described by The Times as "The nearest thing to the real article" and have been revered by both Stones fans for their authenticity and the real Rolling Stones who booked them for the band's birthday! Doors open at 8.30pm and the music starts at 9pm. WRC members are reminded that they can use their cards to get discounted £11 admission.

Hard Rock Recalling! 27 May 2015

Other than seeing Bruce Springsteen live at Hyde Park in 2012 - another highlight of the day was catching South Carolina Rock band Needtobreathe earlier in the proceedings - and yes if you look carefully - they are actually on that Hard Rock Calling poster! Anyway the guys are back tonight at The Koko in London and our Vid Of The Day is dedicated to them - taken at The Borderline almost five years ago.

Chantel McGregor Radio Interview! 27 May 2015

If you listened to yesterday's 'Track Of The Day' (and if not - why not?) - then you would have heard Rory Auskerry mention that on his Route 66 show next Sunday at 6pm he will be interviewing BluesRockfest headliner Chantel McGregor! Watch this space for more details on Sunday and also when we make Rory's podcast available as our Track Of The Day!

Loose Moorings Left In Limbo! 27 May 2015

Well actually 'Left In Limbo' and 'Dunluce' to be precise. Yes today's 'Track Of The Day' is a couple more of Vic Wintergreen's live recordings of Loose Moorings awesome gig at The Red Lion, Gravesend at the beginning of May. Enjoy and don't forget the guys are returning to The Red Lion when they support Larry Miller on Friday 28th August.

Allez AC/DC! 26 May 2015

Hands up if anyone is going to see AC/DC in Paris tonight? The bad news is that the WRC won't be there - even worse news is that their American Independence Day Wembley gig clashes with BluesRockfest - but don't worry - Gravesend is going to be a blast! Anyway, let's turn back the clock to the last time we saw AC/DC just over six years ago at Wembley - when we took our life in our hands in the mosh pit - with our Vid Of The Day (we were just to the right)!

The Who Ramblin' On! 26 May 2015

And it will be exactly six years ago to the day that we saw AC/DC at Wembley when we take in The Who at Hyde Park in a month's time! Not only that, but exactly a month later, a healthy WRC contingent will be heading towards the Ramblin' Man Festival in Maidstone to see Greg Allman, Marillion, Ian Anderson and Joanne Shaw Taylor to name but a few on Sunday 26th July. GIve us a shout below if you're going to either!

Beck To Route 66! 26 May 2015

"I promised you some ZZ Top and I'm not one to make promises I can't deliver!" Yes with just one month to ZZ Top at Wembley thanks for the dedication on Sunday night's show Rory! Our Route 66 Track Of The Day also includes the latest release from Jeff Beck 'Live+' featuring four tracks from the ex-Yardbirds guitarist. There's also classic's from Derek & The Dominos, Oasis, The Beatles and Wishbone Ash plus birthday celebrations for Bob Dylan, Stevie Nicks and Noel Gallagher.

Nil Points! 25 May 2015

OK so none of us like actually admitting that we watch the Eurovison Song Contest - but hey - what's this - a host country band actually playing their own instruments? Surely The Makemakes from Austria were in with a sniff? The moral of the story I suppose is if you sound a bit like Coldplay, you wear a hat like that and you set fire to your piano then you are bound to end up with nil points! Personally I liked our Video Of The Day but does that you tell you more about my taste in music or Eurovision? The jury's out! And as for that UK entry ...... AJ.

Introducing ... Todd Wolfe Band! 25 May 2015

"Imagine some power trio mixed into a Texas Blues foundation and overlaid with trippy psychedelia - that's the essence of Wolfe's music!" That's what 'Hittin' the Note Magazine' wrote about the latest band in our 'Introducing ....' feature! Yes our Track of The Day' is the Todd Wolfe Band with Roger Voss on drums, Justine Gardner on bass and ex-Sheryl Crow guitarist Todd on vocals. The trio are currently on a European tour - tonight it's Germany (Klein-Erzgebirge e.V. Richard-Wagner-Straße 2Oederan 09569 - to be precise) where their new album 'Long Road Back'  is available at all shows on the tour.

Board The Mule Train Tonight! 25 May 2015

If you're looking for a Bank Holiday gig tonight then you might be lucky and pick up a ticket to Gov't Mule's one-off show at the O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire. The Southern Rock jam band will be celebrating their 20th anniversary by bringing their dynamic live experience to London, drawing on a repertoire of over 300 songs which makes every Gov't Mule show unique. And if you're going then give us a shout and let us know how it went!

Route 66 To Wembley! 24 May 2015

Exactly one month to go now until ZZ Top and special guests Thunder (see our 2011 High Voltage Vid Of The Day) play Wembley Arena. And the WRC are hoping to meet up for a beer before the gig with our friends from 'The North' including Route 66 presenter Rory Auskerry. Needless to say we tweeted Rory to request a ZZ track on his show tonight and he tweeted back "Just try and stop me!" So make sure you listen to Pure Radio 107.8FM here between 6pm and 8pm! And if you're also going to the gig then drop us a message below!

Ramblin' Man WRC Offer! 24 May 2015

Talking of High Voltage - if its successor Ramblin' Man is half as good then the Festival taking place over the weekend of 25th & 26th July at Mote Park, Maidstone, Kent, is a must see! And it's still not too late to take advantage of our offer to save WRC members the cost of their booking fee e.g. £5.50 on a £60 ticket. Go here for ticket information to see bands of the calibre of Scorpions and Greg Allman - then simply contact us below with your ticket requirements and we will get back to you. JV Today At Tilfest! 24 May 2015

Don't forget to follow him on his own excellent website here 'Danger Canadian Content'. And if you too would like to have a new WRC t-shirt then simply drop us a line below.

Today's 'Track Of The Day' is a live recording of Loose Moorings 'Ride' performed at The Red Lion, Gravesend, on Friday 1st May when the band supported Virgil & The Accelerators. Also don't forget that Loose Moorings will be returning to The Red Lion to support Larry Miller on Saturday 29th August - ticketing details to follow!

Reach For the Sky! 19 May 2015

Our Vid Of The Day features Giles Hedley & The Aviators - namely Sam Kelly, Christophe Pélissié, Richard Sadler and of course Giles himself - who are currently touring to full houses everywhere. And there's a reason for that - they're amongst the most entertaining bands you could hope to see! So make sure you're amongst the audience tonight at Richard Dunning's Tuesday Night Music Club at in St. Margaret's Road, Coulsdon, Surrey CR5 3RB at 8.30pm.

Stick It In The Wrinkly Album! 19 May 2015

Talking of Mr. Dunning - the picture alongside was taken at last week's LIttle Devils' album launch and has been added to our Photo Gallery from the night. That's Richard at the back with Blues On the Marsh's very own Kev Beale far right with Devil's lead singer Yoka Qureshi in front of Richard. Not only that but if you go to the review here you will also have the pleasure of seeing Richard and Kev 'Dad Dancing' - we thought it was too cruel to make it our 'Vid Of The Day'!

Great Gig In The South! 18 May 2015

A small but appreciative Red Lion, Gravesend, audience were treated to not one but two great performances on Friday night in the form of The Rainbreakers and The Mentulls. The Rainbreakers, a Shropshire based 4 piece, influenced by classic artists such as Free and Jimi Hendrix whilst embracing newer acts like The Black Keys and Gary Clark Jr, recently released an EP 'Blood Not Brass' to rave reviews. WRC favourites The Mentulls were midway through their Spring UK tour and this week announced details of their highly anticipated 3rd album 'Reflections', produced by King King sticks man Wayne Proctor. The usual Friday night traffic on the M25 looked like it was going to cause the night to dissolve into chaos, however by pushing back the start times by 30 minutes, everything was able to proceed smoothly. I arrived just as The Mentulls were about to soundcheck so was treated to a 'sneak peek' as to what was to come and knew that we were in for a good night. With The Rainbreakers set up and soundchecked, it was time to kick off, albeit a little later than expected.

This was my first time seeing The Rainbreakers and I must say they were a great band, playing with style and enthusiasm, their original material fitting nicely alongside covers of Free's 'Fire & Water', Gary Clark Jr's 'When My Train Pulls In' and the oft covered 'Bright Lights, Big City'. These guys are definitely on their way up and we look forward to welcoming them back on July 4th to open BluesRockFest. After a short break The Mentulls take to the stage. Although the band had only played the venue six months previously, I was surprised at the change in the band. Guitarist Andrew Pipe's confidence on stage had clearly grown, throwing shapes all over the stage whilst pulling off breakneck speed runs and solos, Jamie Pipe played bass parts and juicy fills on his Hammond organ, while Nick Coleman has matured beyond just keeping the beat and at one point in the set gives Jamie and Andrew a well deserved break in the form of a drum solo. The time that the band have spent touring and recording the new album had enabled them to flourish into a slicker, tighter unit.

Throughout the night we were treated to tracks from the forthcoming album 'Reflections' which is released in July and the previous album 'Time Flies' plus covers which included Starship Troopers (Yes), Just Got Paid (ZZ Top/Joe Bonamassa), Red House (Hendrix) and my personal favourite cover of theirs which is a medley of Philip Sayce Instrumentals. The day was one of great sadness in music in that we lost B.B. King to The Great Gig In The Sky and Andrew dedicated the beautiful 'Reflections' (Vid Of The Day taken from previous nights Maltings gig) to him. On this track in particular, Andrew demonstrates that despite his young age (18!) he is capable not only of the searing, fast solos but also of showing restraint with unbelievable tone, you can tell that he really feels what he's playing rather than just playing notes. The emotion oozes out of every note and this track received the biggest cheer of the night. It seemed like the evening had barely started, but like all good things, it had to come to an end, but luckily those who were there were able to buy pre-release copies of the album and if last nights gig is anything to go by, the album is going to be immense.

On a personal note I would like to thank Vic Wintergreen for his sound skills, Terry Lee for having a gem of a venue, John Bull for the photos and both bands for giving it their all. If you get a chance - don't fail to see either of these great bands. Keep Music Live!

Steve Borkowski

B. B. King RIP 17 May 2015

If a picture can paint a thousand words then today's Vid Of The Day must take us into the stratosphere. RIP B.B.

Cotton-Picking Kev! 17 May 2015

He's a busy man that Mr. Beale. Just a night after he was partying away at Little Devils' launch gig he was hosting another edition of Blues On The Marsh!  Our Track Of The Day features special guests the fabulous Mississippi MacDonald and The Cottonmouth Kings (pictured)! Yihaaa!

Mentulls Roar! 17 May 2015

Similar to Mr.Beale - the WRC were out again for a second night in a row at The Mentulls/Rainbreakers gig at The Red Lion, Gravesend on Friday. Did The Mentulls roar as usual and had the rain from the night before subsided as support band The Rainbreakers (picture courtesy of John Bull) made their Red Lion debut? Watch out for a review, pics and possibly a vid tomorrow!

What A Swell Party That Was! 16 May 2015

"Thanks for braving the elements - luck of the Devils" bass guitarist Graeme Wheatley tweeted us the morning after the night before! Yes the weather was pretty crap as the WRC entourage got soaked walking along the embankment on Thursday night towards Tamesis Dock for 2014 WRC Award Winners Little Devils' album launch. The irony of the name of their new CD 'The Storm Inside' was not lost on us - but its recent critical acclaim was the carrot as we approached the Dutch Barge in torrential rain.

Needless to say the evening improved once we had a beer and Little Devil's came on stage earlier than expected at around 9pm. Another wry smile as they opened with 'Storm Warning' and despite a few sound gremlins - they professionally shrugged that off and then launched into the impressive 'Heavy Weather' (cue another wry smile) that showcased all elements of this four-piece band plus their originality with lead singer Yoka Qureshi playing both the sax and flute. The set list then correlated with the CD as they followed up with 'Wounded', 'Skin Sin', the very catchy 'Deep Inside' and 'Birth Of The Blues' - highlighting the musical (and personal) chemistry between Yoka and lead guitarist (and partner) Ray Qureshi. B.B. would have loved that one.

'A Long Time Ago' (see Vid Of The Day) introduced Graeme on vocals with Yoka complementing on flute, however, the driving force of drummer Sara Shaw as the spine of Little Devils really hit home with the ballad 'The Ghost Of Your Kiss'. Yoka's vocals were back to the fore on 'All About Love' and their single 'My Perfect You' - perhaps this was the  perfect storm! The last track from 'TSI' 'Stand' was sandwiched in between Bonnie Raitt's 'Love Me Like A Man' and 'Orphans Of The Storm' from their 2009 album 'This Is How It Starts' which in hindsight was indeed prophetic given the quality of this latest release. Suffice to say those that had the pleasure of attending the gig had forgotten about the storm outside but had loved 'The Storm Inside'.

"By now it was clear that a busy Cherry Cola’s was going to be packed for The Wild! with Dylan Villain (Lead guitar/Vox), Pistol Pete (Rhythm guitar), Lucas 'Boozus' (Bass/Vox) and & Rowdy Rick Riegs (Drums) from Kelowna, B.C. getting an enthusiastic reception." Anyway to complement Moose's 'The Wild!' review we have consequently made them our 'Vid Of The Day'!

Introducing .... Angelflame 13 May 2015

You wait ages and then three come along at once. Yes our third 'Introducing ...' feature in as many days is London Hard Rock outfit Angelflame who are currently riding high in the top 40 of Reverbnation London Rock Charts! Founded this year, the band consists of  Thomas Erbi - Vocals, Mark R. - Guitar, Joe Almolda - Bass and Arthur Grochowski - Drums. And with influences such as Van Halen, Bon Jovi, Europe, Queen, AC/DC and Led Zeppelin you can see why Angelflame are our 'Track Of The Day'! Also watch out for their gig at the Workshop in Shoreditch, London, on Saturday 30th May.

Better The Devil You Know! 13 May 2015

"You are transported back to the late 60's early 70's with songs that have more than a passing resemblance to Cream, The Doors and The Spencer Davis Group. Those influences added to the Joe Cocker vocals and you have a band that are more than just watchable as borne out by the very appreciative crowd who roared out for more even after an hour set. Normally an hour set by a support band would be drowned out by incessant chatter - not with these guys." Praise indeed - part of Wrinkly's Pearl Handled Revolver review when we saw them (pictured) support Slim Chance at The Borderline sixteen months ago. Anyway we're pleased to report that their third album is taking shape 'If The Devil Cast His Net' soon to be released worldwide in CD, MP3 and vinyl formats! Anyway click here to see a vid of the seminal track from the album -  'Absinthe In Adelaide'.

Hi Ho Silver Lining! 9 May 2015

Every cloud has a silver lining so they say. We had some technical issues with our Route 66 Track Of The Day yesterday and whilst we were trying to sort it out - presenter Rory Auskerry told us he was about to interview seventeen year old Blues guitarist/singer/songwriter Aaron Keylock - and pushed a YouTube clip of Aaron our way. The rest is history and consequently the Vid is our 'Video Of The Day' and the even better news is that Aaron is on the bill at Ramblin' Man. He's also featured on Rory's show on Sunday at 6pm here with the interview  to be broadcast the week after on Sunday 17th May! Phew - bring it on!

Who Are You? 6 May 2015

Given that The Who played there in 1974 and 1976 - the WRC couldn't pass up the opportunity yesterday of putting Wrinklystock IV up in lights! Seriously if you look very closely at the right hand bottom corner of the Valleys big screen you will see our poster promoting our T.Rextasy charity gig! In fact yesterday's game at Charltons ground in South East London raised money for the very same learning disability charities we are supporting at the Mick Jagger Centre on Saturday 21st November. Anyway the bad news was that AJ's team lost 3-2 but the good news was that they raised over £2,500! As The Who would say - "Bargain"!

Strawkites Moonlighting! 6 May 2015

The Strawkites hail from Canterbury, England, and have been on the WRC Prog radar for quite some time now so when we heard about their new video 'Moonlighting' it was a no brainer to make it our 'Vid Of The Day'. Duo Keith and Stewart who produce all their own songs are - surprise surprise - both big fans of Pink Floyd and have been writing and recording their own material for a number of years now and lately have been making their own videos. You can also download 'Moonlighting' for free here!

They'll Be Back! 4 May 2105

There was an icy wind blowing up the Thames Estuary on Friday night but once Virgil & The Accelerators breezed into town no one seemed to notice or care. VATA were back in old Blighty after a brief trip to Europe and they were determined to start the UK leg with a bang at a venue they had never previously played at.

First up were Loose Moorings who had earned the right to the support slot after an outstanding set in support to Blacktop Deluxe at the Fiddlers Elbow in Chalk Farm on Valentine’s night. LM are a very understated band and front man Roy Hudson admitted to those gathered that he "don't talk much". He doesn't have to as he commands the stage without needing any histrionics and the audience are soon with him and the band. Leading off with the excellent ‘Think I'd Be Blue’ from their debut album Loose Moorings I, the guys however soon launch into tracks from their second album - you got it - Loose Moorings II (told you they were understated). Indeed the set includes 7 tracks from what I consider to be one of the albums of the year to date. The new release is so strong that the last four tracks of the set are all from it: ‘Control’, ‘Falling Star’ and in my eyes two that are already classics in ‘Pushin My Patience’ and ‘Magpie’ (see Video Of The Day). An appreciative audience begged for more and venue owner Terry Lee promises a quick return this year - well deserved.

On to the main course and not only was this the first gig of their UK Tour but it was also the first outing for Vigil's new Elvis haircut and Gabriel's new drum kit. I must admit it was an impressive sight as it stood out on stage looking like one of those heavenly visions. If they sounded as good as they looked we were in for a treat. We needn't have worried especially as the sound was being looked after by sound man extraordinaire Vic Wintergreen!! VATA were in no mood to hang around as they launched straight into ‘Take Me Higher’ - the tone was set and the pace never slackened as they powered their way through the heavyweight tracks off their Radium and Army of Three albums. There appear to be many influences that the band draw on and Black Sabbath overtones come through on the excellent ‘All Night Long’. Also for me there were many occasions when Joe Bonamassa influences shone out in Virgil's guitar style especially during the intro to ‘Working Man’ - can't be a bad thing. Add to that a pinch of Bad Company in ‘88’ and you have something for everyone. They finished off with the amazing ‘Silver Giver’ as an encore - the Red Lion had been rocked to its well-established rafters.

The guys are as tight as a you know what and Virgil has you hanging on to every note he plays - I understand the band are leaning away from the Blues tag, I personally think that is a shame as for me there is a place for that genre in their set. It was their first venture to this iconic venue - I don't think it will be their last.

Do You Know This Man? 1 May 2015

"I'm looking forward to seeing them play a full set - who knows maybe we can make that happen in one of our promotions?" That was part of Wrinklys Uriah Heep/VATA Islington Assembly Halls review in February 2013 and just over two years later it's gonna happen. Yes all roads tonight lead to The Red Lion, Gravesend, with headliners Virgil & The Accelerators (our Vid Of The Day) supported by Loose Moorings. Wrinklys review also included "We were amazed to be blown away by a power trio .... the boys trusted the quality of their new CD and reeled them off to a very positive response from the already decent crowd ..... we were treated as a finale to 'Are You Experienced' where Virgil really showed his full range of skills ... a quality set guys and it proved the hype that surrounds these guys is not misplaced". So there you have it - more of the same tonite please although we can't recall the name of the geezer that night pictured on the right of Virgil! Any ideas out there?
