They were also recently joined by bassist Michael Gilbert and some of their song themes include unrequited love, drug addiction, social afflictions and fearful political etiquette.

Good Luck Waterboys 29/7/20

The Waterboys recently released their second single ‘The Soul Singer', accompanied by today's vibrantly Psychedelic Video Of The Day, yet another taste of their highly anticipated new album, following their dramatic epic ‘My Wanderings In The Weary Land’, which was released last month to great acclaim. It’s an exuberant blast of uptempo Pop ’n ’Roll which opens 'Good Luck, Seeker' – the remarkable 14th studio album due to be released on Friday 21st August, from one of the most creative, loved and literate bands of the last four decades. 'Good Luck, Seeker' draws together many glistening strands of The Waterboys’ weird, wondrous journey, and its 14 songs are populated by unrepentant freaks, soul legends, outlaw film stars and 20th Century mystics, drawing inspiration from The Stones, Kate Bush, Sly and Kendrick as well as frontman Mike Scott’s very own musical past!

Dukes Of The Orient Freakshow 28/7/20

Formed in 2017 by English vocalist/guitarist John Payne (ex-Asia, GPS) and American keyboard player Erik Norlander (Last In Line, Lana Lane, Rocket Scientists), Dukes Of The Orient's ‘Freakshow' is due to be released next Friday 7th August, of which, 'The Monitors', is today's Video Of The Day. It's the second album by the Prog AOR duo, and Payne’s powerful arena-seasoned vocals carry soaring melodies and lush harmonies over the sea of classic synthesisers and keyboards, artfully painted with Norlander’s signature sonic palette. Payne and Norlander had worked together in 'Asia Featuring John Payne', an offshoot of the British Progressive Rock group which Payne was a member from 1991 to 2006, when Asia's original lineup reunited. Following lead singer John Wetton's death, Payne and Norlander formed DOTO as a vehicle to release new material, both out of respect for Wetton, and to distinguish themselves from Payne's former band.

Celebration Decay 27/7/20

Seminal US Bay Area Melodic Power Metal band Vicious Rumors are set to unleash their searing new studio album ‘Celebration Decay’ on Friday 21st August, and in advance they have already released earlier this month their first single from the album, ‘Death Eternal’, to be followed by their second single, ‘Pulse Of The Dead', on Friday 7th August. It's the follow-up to 2016’s highly acclaimed ‘Concussion Protocol’, and ‘Celebration Decay’ is the band's lucky thirteenth studio album - an even more more accomplished successor, which packs an even harder musical punch. Originally when they set off on tour in 2018, Vicious Rumors mastermind Geoff Thorpe, long-standing drummer Larry Howe, new vocalist Nick Courtney plus new guitarist Gunnar Dügrey had only planned twenty concerts to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their 1988 classic ‘Digital Dictator! As they say, the rest is history, as Vicious Rumors march on, including a three part mini documentary on the making of ‘Celebration Decay', the first episode of which was aired at the end of last month.

The Clovis Limit Pt.2 27/7/20

Multi-talented, pigeonhole-defying guitarmeister and multi-instrumentalist, Mike Ross recently released his first sweet-sounding single, and today's Video Of The Day, 'The Loser', from his excellent new, genre-crossing 10-track solo album ‘The Clovis Limit Pt.2’, which itself is due out on Friday 30th October. Listeners may well detect the piquant flavours of Humble Pie and similar ingredients in the sound and feel of ‘The Loser’, yet it has less of Mike’s trademark Heavy Blues electric guitar fuzz and drive than many of the tracks on the new album, but that just gives the limelight to his other facets. Indeed, it’s a fine, original song, which begins the roll-out of fresh material from a new album that’s remarkably strong on multiple fronts: a showcase for Mike’s songwriting and musicianship on multiple instruments. The close-knit sound that this impressive, multi-tracked, approach produces belies its one-man-band origins! A man wearing many hats, with aplomb and a grin, Ross is also the vocalist and producer, and he whistles too!

From The Van 27/7/20

Like many musicians and bands around the world, members of Montreal's Heavy Stoner Rockers Paradise have been separated from one another as a precaution to the Covid-19 pandemic. Not able to see each other to have regular jams along with postponements of performances, the band, consisting of Fred Crew Grr (guitar), Matt Hias (drums), Fred Kelly (bass), R.L. Black (vocals) and Frank Kelly (lead guitar), has adapted to the state of the world and continues to promote their heavy and winding arrangements of Corrosive Rock with the creation of a new quarantine video series entitled "From The Van". Today's Track Of The Day is their first FTV video, 'Away From You', taken from their new eponymous album released in March, that sways on the line between Hard Stoner Rock and Pure Heavy Metal.

Peter Green 26/7/20

Peter Green, the dexterous Blues guitarist who led the first incarnation of Fleetwood Mac, sady passed away yesterday, aged 73. The legendary guitarist and singer founded the group alongside Mick Fleetwood, John McVie and Jeremy Spencer in 1967, and despite his latter demons, he was still ranked as one of the greatest guitar players of all time. Indeed, he was responsible for many of the band's early hits, including 'Black Magic Woman', 'Albatross' and today's Video Of The Day, 'Oh Well'.

Brothers Osborne All Night 26/7/20

Six-time Grammy nominees Brothers Osborne will release their third studio album, 'Skeletons', on Friday 9th October, and the duo recently played one of its tracks, 'All Night', as part of “CMA Summer Stay-Cay”, which is today's Track Of The Day. Dion CD Review 25/7/20

"You can find yourself asking yourself why they bothered. Happily, that is not remotely the case here. There are probably two reasons for that: firstly, these are all great songs that would sound good recorded with a bunch of anonymous session players – Dion has written this collection over a period of 3-4 years (with long time co-writer Mike Aquilina) and they reflect writing skills honed over six decades (in one case revisiting the title number for non-released 1965 album ‘Kickin’ Child’) - and secondly, rather than being the dreamchild of a business exec’ looking to cash in, the collaborations began in an organic, non-planned manner, with happy results.”

Today read another one of our great album reviews, as Simon Green gives you his take here on Dion's CD 'Blues With Friends', which was released last month, plus check out our Video Of The Day.

All Gone Wrong 25/7/20

Following their critically acclaimed 2019 album, 'City Night', legendary British Blues Rock band Savoy Brown release their exciting new album, 'Ain’t Done Yet', on Friday 28th August via Quarto Valley Records, of which 'All Gone Wrong' is today's Track Of The Day. Led by guitarist/singer/songwriter Kim Simmonds, who formed the band in 1965 in London, Savoy Brown is one of the longest running Blues Rock bands in existence. Blues Rock became the catch-all phrase in the late 1960's to describe the band’s music along with that of their contemporaries, and they helped spawn the 1968 UK Blues Rock boom and later opened the eyes of many 1970's American teenagers to their own home territory Blues artists.

Pete K Mally Sit-Down Livestream 25/7/20

Be warned that comedian, DJ and author Pete K Mally, is streaming The Pete K Mally Stand-Up Show Show at 7pm on Friday 14 August, and if you use the limited code PETEK2020, you can get a discount off your ticket here. Pete spent his youth defending his love of Classic Rock and Metal, and he gets the hump when High Street stores are flaunting AC/DC , Iron Maiden and Ramones t-shirts as simple fashion accessories (we've earned these stripes). He is a regular compere at Rock festivals and recently supported Wayward Sons and The Last Great Dreamers before lockdown. Now in his forties he openly listens to Poison and is unashamed in this (a little).

Big Town Out Today 24/7/20

Today heralds the release of Geoff Carne & The Raw Rox Band's ‘Big Town’ album, a ten-song collective, of which the second track on the album, 'Hold On', is today's Video Of The Day. This release not only follows on from the full studio production of Geoff Carne & The Hatz's 'Caught on the Outside', with its Tom Petty vibe, at the start of this year, but the single was also released prior to longstanding drummer Mick Hatz announcing his retirement in February. Since then vocalist/guitarist Carne has released three acoustic EP's, and to bring the versions to life, Geoff’s producer Paul Mex reached out to experienced session musicians,  the Raw Rox Band, namely Jim Black – bass guitar, Zoki Jovanoski – drums, Bob Calvert – keyboards and Arby ‘Slash’ Rockman – lead guitar.

In addition, this Friday 24th July at 6pm CT (UK midnight), The Revivalists will also be performing live here at the NOLA Drive-In Livestream.

Living Embr 23/7/20

Today's Track Of The Day is Doom quartet Embr's new video for ‘Where I’ve Been’  taken from their recently released debut album ‘1823' via New Heavy Sounds. Undoubtedly an expert blend of tonal heft and melody, Embr are four musical kindred spirits who have delivered a crushing, yet beautiful debut. Musically, it could be categorised as ‘Doom’, however, it’s obvious that the U.S. band have range, drive and a desire to add to the genre, to broaden it whilst staying true to its core fundamentals. The vocal talents of Crystal Bigelow absolutely soar and strengthen the music, whilst her range, patterns and harmonies transport the band’s music skyward. Mark Buchanan (guitar), Alan Light (bass) and Eric Bigelow (drums) also keep everything tight and weighty. Massive drop-tuned guitars, chest rattling low end, pounding drums, fuzzy distortion, it’s all there. But they also add in synths, a bit of Grunge and Alt Rock flavours.

Released back in February, it's a true stormer of a track in pure Clarke fashion – Rock n’ Roll doused in the influences that run through Gilby’s veins. In the world of Rock, Clarke needs no introduction. From crunching legendary chords on his beloved Gibson Guitar with Guns N’ Roses, to getting down into the snakepit with his GNR buddy Slash, or creating pure, heartfelt Rock music as a solo artist - Gilby has done it all!

We All Fall Down 21/7/20

Bedford trio, The Scruff, released their new single, ‘We All Fall Down’, at the end of last month. Pairing heartfelt lyricism with propulsive Ska-imbued rhythms, the track is an infectious yet meaningful ode to a friend struck down by illness. It follows the band’s previous single, ‘Vultures’, released earlier this year, and together they form the first taste of what to expect from The Scruff in 2020 as they set their sights on their debut album. They bring a Punk-fuelled energy matched with a contagious Indie-Pop sheen and dexterous songwriting. The band truly come alive onstage and have paved the way with impressive and equally chaotic live shows, as seen at Reading and Leeds, Isle Of Wight and The Great Escape festivals among many other shows. The band will be returning to the road as soon as the current live situation allows.

A memorable and uplifting slab of Hard Rock, it's an artistic alliance borne out of a longstanding friendship between Danger Danger singer Ted Poley and guitarist Steve Brown of Trixter, which was always going to make the Melodic Rock community rejoice. Also written and produced by Brown, the band is rounded out by bassist Greg Smith (Ted Nugent, Alice Cooper) and drummer Chuck Burgi (Rainbow, Blue Oyster Cult, Bon Jovi).

Calgary’s powerful, Symphonic Progressive Metal band Osyron unleashed their new album 'Foundations' earlier this month, and one of its five tracks, 'Ignite', is today's Video Of The Day. The album is an immersive exploration of Canadian history and identity, speaking on topics on the country's colonization to the mistreatment and recognition of Aboriginals to the country's participation in global warfare. Although it is not a conceptual release, it does bear a consistent theme across nearly the entirety of the record. For fans of Nightwish, Dream Theater and Wintersun; the group consists of vocalist Reed, guitarists Krzysztof Stalmach and Bobby Harley, bassist Tyler Corbett and drummer Cody Anstey. Bridging the gap between traditional European Metal and the music of their homegrown contemporaries, Osyron has a distinctive sound, all of their own.

A semi-autobiographical lyric shared by Betts and Allman, ironically this is the only song on the album with band collaborator Stoll Vaughan as its sole author. Vaughan wrote the song alone, though namechecking detailed parts of Betts’ and Allman’s life, respectively. Musically it evokes the group’s affection for The Band and the Grateful Dead.

Not a band you can second guess, unpredictable Kent Punks Riskee and The Ridicule follow-up their first lockdown release in May, the seething anger of the Brexit-baiting single ‘Blue Jacket’, with their own respectful take on New York Pop singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey’s award-winning 2013 smash-hit, ‘Young And Beautiful’, which is today's Video Of The Day. This, however, is no guilty pleasure for the band, who are longtime fans of Lana’s work. Despite being isolated from each other at the time, the band still managed to create a video, by recording their individual parts at home, allowing their former bassist David Thomas to collate them together with footage from one of the bands early hometown gigs.

Blues Club Bosscats 17/7/20

Today's latest Blues Club Podcast Track Of The Day is another two hours of non stop Best in Blues and beyond with More Music and Less Chat, featuring new releases, classic tracks and UK IBBA Presenters' Picks, including music from The Della Grants, Catfish, Anthony Geraci, Wily Bo Walker & Danny Flam, Lachy Doley, Pink Floyd, Marcus Lazarus, Susan Angeletti, Kenny Blues Boss Wayne, Peter Karp, Richard Townend & The Moscow Bosscats, Laura Evans, The Isley Brothers, Crooked Eye Tommy, Beth Hart & Joe Bonamassa, Johnny Burgin, Chris Farlowe and many more.

An Ongoing Mutiny 16/7/20

Matt Pearce & The Mutiny recently released physical and digital tracks from their exclusive tour EP: ‘An Ongoing Thing: Demos, Acoustics and Covers’. Previously only available at the band’s live gigs, the current disruption to touring, combined with fans hunger for more music, has inspired Matt to make the EP more widely available, for a limited time only, giving music-starved fans a chance to revel in the Mutiny! The EP includes five tracks: ‘Got A Thing Going On’, ‘Do What You Do’, ‘Some People’ (acoustic) - all written by Matt; plus live gig favourite covers: ‘Strange Relationship’ (Prince) and ‘Oh Well’ (Fleetwood Mac). Consisting of Matt (vocals, guitar), Joe Lazarus (drums), Joe Mac (keyboards), Kelpie Mackenzie (bass), Daliah Sherrington (vocals) and Terry Edwards (saxophone), together they deliver these songs with skill, passion and gusto.

Cooking With Maceo 16/7/20

Funk legend Maceo Parker released his first new studio album in eight years, namely 'Soul Food - Cooking With Maceo', at the end of last month, and it's the first album on the Mascot Label Group new imprint, The Funk Garage, of which 'Cross The Track' is today's Video Of The Day. He has played with each and every leader of Funk, starting with James Brown throughout the 1960's and beyond, then jumping aboard the Mothership Connection with Parliament-Funkadelic, as well as a decade long collaboration with Prince. 'Soul Food - Cooking With Maceo' blends raw, old school Funk with the flavours of the New Orleans school of music. The funky flavour of the city weaves its way through the album as Maceo and the band take on iconic songs of the Mississippi masters such as Dr. John, The Meters and Allen Toussaint as well as takes on Aretha Franklin, Prince and Maceo’s long-time hero and Ray Charles saxophonist, David "Fathead" Newman.

Stonedead 2021 - Alive & Kicking 15/7/20

The news that we’ve all been probably expecting, but dreading, was finally announced at the beginning of July, given current Government guidelines, when it was confirmed that Stonedead was being postponed until Saturday 28th August next year. The good news, however, is that it will return to Newark Showground bigger and stronger in 2021, having secured the same line-up, namely headliners Black Star Riders, with special guests Terrorvision and Gun, plus Tyketto, Kris Barras Band, Blaze Bayley, Tygers of Pan Tang, Myke Gray featuring Kim Jennett and opening poll winner Dead Man's Whiskey. See you at the bar in 2021!

Push Through The Water 15/7/20

Innovative British Rockers Cypher16 recently released their second new single, and today's Track Of The Day, of 'Push Through The Water', taken from their upcoming second full-length album, 'It's A Long Way Back (From This Road)'. A refreshingly original Rock band, Cypher16 harnesses Metal with a hint of Modern Industrial to create a truly massive sound. Consisting of Jack Doolan - vocals/ guitars, Will Cass - guitars/vocals, Rich Hinks - bass and Declan Doran - drums, the band’s debut album, 'The Great Surveyor', was released in October 2015 to rave reviews. Indeed, the band is also known for its epic music videos, filmed at famous landmarks such as Battersea Power Station ('Lonely Road') and The Natural History Museum ('Open the Dark Door'), where the band was given unprecedented access for an entire night, in 2017!

Take Me Away 15/7/20

Rock singer-guitarist Ayron Jones recently shared his explosive debut single ‘Take Me Away’ via Big Machine/John Varvatos Records, accompanied by a powerful lyric video, which is today's Video Of The Day. The single is influenced by the weight of his past and the struggles that shaped Jones’ art, and equally inspired by diverse musical influences to create a style uniquely his own. Jones’ tumultuous childhood, marred by parental addiction and abandonment, laid the foundation for the song’s themes. The gritty, genre-blending artist is an amalgam of the incredibly rich musical history of Seattle - the city that has helped to shape who he is as an artist and person. Indeed, part of the fabric of his Seattle atmosphere, Jones has opened for Guns ’N’ Roses at the Gorge and B.B. King, building early critical acclaim independently.

Enuff Z'Nuff Album Review 14/7/20

"The gears are stepped up swiftly on ‘Drugland Weekend’, with some rocking lead guitar licks from former Kiss man ‘Ace Frehley’, whilst ‘Broken Love’ sees the last of the impressive guest list, which features Brian Ray, a regular in the Paul McCartney Band. This dreamy Rock tune leads us to play out with ‘Go’ and ‘Winding Road', both in true Enuff Z’Nuff mid-pace Melodic Rock style. Not a bad apple in the bunch, the fanbase will be more than happy, the proof is in the pudding and as Mr. Dio once hailed to Mr. Blackmore - "Long Live Rock ‘n’ Roll.”

Today read another one of our lockdown album reviews, as Geoff C. this time gives you his take here on Enuff Z'Nuff's new CD 'Brainwashed Generation', which was released last Friday, plus check out our Video Of The Day.

Between A Breath And A Breath 14/7/20

Dyble Longdon is a collaboration between iconic vocalist Judy Dyble (ex Fairport Convention, Trader Horne), who sadly, we learnt on Sunday, has died after a long illness, and Big Big Train songwriter and frontman David Longdon, and they release their highly anticipated album 'Between A Breath And A Breath' on Friday 25th September. The album contains seven original compositions with all lyrics by Judy and music and production by David. The songs are, at times, haunting and, at others, beautifully fragile. As well as Judy (vocals, autoharp) and David (vocals, acoustic and electric guitars, mandolin, piano and keyboards), they are joined by Jeff Davenport (Jade Warrior, drums) plus Longdon’s Big Big Train bandmates Danny Manners (double bass), Rikard Sjöblom (accordion), Rachel Hall (violin), Greg Spawton (bass guitar and Moog Taurus pedals) and Nick D’Virgilio (drums). Other featured musicians are Dave Gregory (ex-Big Big Train and XTC, guitar), Andy Lewis (Paul Weller, bass guitar), Luca Calabrese (Isildurs Bane, trumpet) and Dave Sturt (Gong and Steve Hillage, fretless bass).

Generation Antichrist 13/7/20

UK Thrashers Onslaught release 'Generation Antichrist' on Friday 7th August, their seventh album, inspired by a world, so full of hatred, megalomaniacs and political madness. Led by founding guitarist Nige Rockett, if you like your Thrash Metal brutal and extreme, then this is definitely the album for you! Well overdue, 'Generation Antichrist' follows five years of touring, not only promoting their last studio album 'VI', but also the 30th Anniversary of their 1986 'The Force' album. With their dominant groove, plus new vocalist Dave Garnett on board, the band are storming back to where they belong, ripping up the form book along the way! Also consisting of Wayne Dorman (guitars), Jeff Williams (bass) and James Perry (drums), it's time to add another gem to their legacy and unleash a new beast in 'Generation Antichrist'!

Gypsy Who Sold The World 13/7/20

During lockdown, a number of bands have aired acoustic or social distancing videos and Iron Maiden legacy band, Gypsy’s Kiss, are no different, as they have produced three acoustic versions of their original tracks plus an exceptional cover of David Bowie's ‘The Man Who Sold The World’, which is today's Track Of The Day.  The classic, which is receiving a great deal of attention, will be featured on their ‘Acoustic Lockdown’ EP due for release later this year, with the band also currently working on their debut album, due for release early next year. Maiden founder/bassist Steve Harris and David Smith were founder members of Gypsy’s Kiss and in April 1974 they had their first paying gig at the Cart and Horses, Stratford, when they were orginally named Influence. Smith had been asked to reform the band many times over the years and finally did so for a charity festival in March 2018.

Pain Of Salvation's Panther 13/7/20

Firmly at the forefront of the Progressive Rock and Metal scenes for nearly three decades now, and one of modern Rock’s most acclaimed live acts, Sweden’s Pain Of Salvation return with a new studio album entitled 'Panther', due out on Friday 28th August worldwide via InsideOutMusic, of which the opening track from the album, ‘Accelerator’, is today's Video Of The Day. Consisting of Daniel Gildenlöw – lead vocals and lots of stuff, Johan Hallgren – guitar and vocals, Léo Margarit – drums and vocals, Daniel Karlsson – keyboards, guitars and vocals and Gustaf Hielm – bass and vocals, it's the follow-up to 'In The Passing Light Of Day', that previously entered the official sales charts in numerous countries upon release in 2017.

Origin Of The Lugubrious 12/7/20

Master Charger, a hard-working, heavy, fuzzed-up 3-piece Stoner act from the Midlands, are set to release their third album, 'Origin of the Lugubrious', on Friday 21st August, and it's their first on Stoned Rocka Recordings. Widely known on the live circuit as a formidable powerhouse with a reputation for delivering bone-crushing sets over sublime Stoner grooves, they bring a unique blend of ballsy, bluesy, groove fuelled, doom-laden and at times jammed out Rock ‘N’ Roll Sludge. This was later dubbed as a “Satanic Blues Rumble” when a fan best described the band’s sound after a show they played at Birmingham’s O2 Academy, which has since stuck! Formed in 2006, the band released their first full-length album 'Unity In Black' in 2011, followed eventually, in January 2016, by 'Eroding Empires'.

Yeah Yeah Yeah Nigel 12/7/20

Last Friday, Nigel Barker released his brand new single 'Yeah Yeah Yeah', and he has a brand new video to go with it, which is today's Video Of The Day! The song is a gritty, accomplished, mesmerising track and is the second single release from his forthcoming new album 'Five-The Fifth Album' which comes out later this year. It follows the earlier release, in May of 'Telling My Troubles To Strangers' which saw thousands of views of its video within days of its release and airplay in countries throughout Europe and the USA.  Nigel Barker has, until now, been a hidden gem of the UK music scene, and this exciting, unusual and wholly original artist is a real master Bluesman and a phenomenal songwriter who's music straddles, Blues, Americana, Rock and lo-fi Pop.

Fools 12/7/20

Last month singer/songwriter Jonny Ong released the accompanying video to his new single ‘Fools’, which is today's Track Of The Day. It's the latest release from Jonny, the new name who is blasting onto the Psychedelia scene, and is an outpouring of emotion, with a full and varied instrumentation, making Ong a force to be reckoned with. This multi-instrumentalist hails from Singapore and melds traditional approaches with Western-influences. During his teenage years, Jonny not only found a deep obsession for Psychedelic music, but he was also inspired by a busker in Amsterdam to pick up the Handpan.

Anvil Live Stream 11/7/20

With an overwhelming response to the success of Anvil's recent virtual Independence Day live stream concert, organisers are offering all the fans who missed it, and the fans who watched it, an opportunity to watch it all again here. The Canadian band performed this first live stream from Quebec City, which was organised by District 7 Production and L'Anti Bar & Spectacles. Back in February, the Heavy Metal band released a new album 'Legal At Last' celebrating the legalisation of recreational cannabis use in Canada. To support the album, the band had a tour planned in the UK and Germany, with an assortment of other stops along the way. Unfortunately, like everyone else, Covid-19 stopped the tour in its tracks, hence this live stream.

ILS Curse 11/7/20

After their first acclaimed 'Pain Don't Hurt' EP released last year, Portland, Oregon, Noise Rock band ILS have just released their ten-track debut album 'Curse' via Pogo Records, of which 'No Luck' is today's Video Of The Day. The four-piece Disaster Chic band consists of Tom Glose (Black Elk) on vocals. Nate Abner (The Days, The Nights) on guitar. Tim Steiner (Passerby) on drums and Adam Pike (White Orange) on bass.

He is also currently recording a new solo album.

Next Friday 17th July will hold a musical surprise as Metal legends U.D.O. will publish an album in collaboration with the official Concert Band of the German Armed Forces (Musikkorps der Bundeswehr), entitled 'We Are One‘. The German Rock band, including icon Udo Dirkschneider (the original voice of Accept with worldwide hits such as 'Balls To The Wall‘, 'Metal Heart‘ etc.) together with the renowned Concert Band under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Christoph Scheibling, is a unique worldwide musical project. Released through AFM Records/Soulfood Music, the title of the album has been the driving force for its 15 new songs, developed and arranged by U.D.O. together with Colonel Scheibling, plus former Accept musicians Stefan Kaufmann and Peter Baltes, who have been part of the songwriting, as well as German Armed Forces' composers Guido Rennert and Alexander Reuber.

Today, Brighton five piece Indie-Punk rockers Creature Creature release their debut album, 'Two Finger Tantrum', through their own label Creature Eats Records, and their latest single from the album, 'The Early Days', is today's Video Of The Day. With its anthemic attitude, it would fit perfectly in a Guy Ritchie film or Peaky Blinders. It's British stiff upper lip at its finest! Creature Creature consist of Scully – vocals, Zeus – guitars, Dave Cobley - bass, Seb Cole – keys and Matt Hill - drums, and are for fans of Royal Blood, Dinosaur Pile-Up, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes.

Vambo Burn 9/7/20

"Fast Car' was followed by a stonking Zep medley including 'Good Times Bad Times' plus 'Moby Dick', before Steve Price, on his Mapex drum kit, and bassist James Scott kept the powerful groove going on the "Sliverish" sounding 'Down Little' Mama'. After Jack's retrospective slapped wrist, for his tour announcement faux pas, they closed with one final original 'Total Jeopardy' (not their latest single 'World of Misery' surpisingly), before they finished the set with "their favourite song" - Deep Purple's 'Burn' - the band well and truly nailing this classic with their Hungarian axeman showing off his chops credentials one final time. A great young band, with their debut album set to be released this year, the writing is very much on the wall. Vambo Rules!" That was part of our take on Vambo at London's Boston Music Room just under a year ago, and this week the guys have released their live rendition of Deep Purple's 'Burn', which is today's Track Of The Day.

Dude (I Totally Miss You) 9/7/20

Norwich Progressive Modern Metallers Apollo Stands have been busy during lockdown with a home studio cover of Tenacious D’s 2006 classic, ‘Dude (I Totally Miss You)’, released last week through One Eyed Toad Records, and today's Video Of The Day. Taken from the 'Minds' EP released back in February, and not being deterred by quarantine restrictions, the band recorded their parts separately in home isolation. Indeed, the song demonstrates both the band's fun-loving side and their technical prowess, as lead singer Ry Haze channels his inner Jack Black, whilst guitarist Olly Smith lends his own interpretation of the track’s blistering solo.

Genesis Revisited Rescheduled 8/7/20

Due to Covid-19, Steve Hackett has re-scheduled his UK dates, for his Seconds Out + More World Tour. It will now begin next year on Friday 10th September at the Leicester De Montfort Hall, although the good news is that the tour will now be extended by an additional eight shows including a third show at the London Palladium. The show will feature the 1977 Genesis live album 'Seconds Out' in full, plus more! Steve will be joined on the tour by regular musicians Roger King (keyboards), Jonas Reingold (bass), Rob Townsend (saxes/flutes) and Nad Sylvan (vocals), plus Craig Blundell on drums and percussion. Steve’s autobiography, A Genesis In My Bed, is also due to be published on Friday 24th July, where Hackett talks candidly about his early life, his time with Genesis, and in particular his personal relationships with the other four band members, with great insight into the daily goings on of this major Rock band.

Thundermother's Heat Wave 8/7/20

Thundermother have released on AFM Records their new single, and today's Video Of The Day, 'Sleep', with Guernica Mancini giving this striking Rock ballad a unique touch with her beautiful Blues-soaked voice, ahead of the band's highly anticipated new album 'Heat Wave', due for release on Friday 31st July. Touring relentlessly, and with three albums under their belts, these Swedish ladies from Stockholm are the breathing and living embodiment of Rock ‘n’ Roll. Founded in 2009 by guitar-heroine Filippa Nässil, the band started their steep rise on the international stage after singer extraordinaire, Guernica, joined two years ago. Driven by the hard-hitting pounding of drummer Emlee Johansson, these heavy rocking girls are sticking it to anyone claiming that Rock ‘n’ Roll is a male domain!

The Sleep Eazys CD Review 7/7/20

"Fans of Bonamassa are going to lap this up and, given the overall quality of the songs and the powerful arrangements, it should appeal to pretty much anyone that enjoys melodic music played with passion. Well done also for reviving a dying genre, the guitar instrumental album! ”

Today read another one of our great album reviews, as Simon Green gives you his take here on The Sleep Eazys CD 'Easy To Buy, Hard To Sell', which was released back in April, plus check out our Video Of The Day.

Calum In The Moonlight 7/7/20

Alternative Rock and Roots cellist, singer and multi-instrumentalist Calum Ingram launches his long-awaited double A side 7 inch vinyl single 'Dancing In The Moonlight' and 'Demon Eyes' on Friday 31st July. Calum’s unique rendition of the Thin Lizzy classic is a fun, positive and empowering answer to the strange climate the world seems to be in at present. Prepare yourself for a journey like Rory Gallagher meets 70’s Brit Pop and Blues. Both tracks demonstrate a genre fluid sound sifting through Pop elements and Blues breakers style cello riffs. From the moment you first hear Calum’s 'Dancing in the Moonlight' you’ll be brimming with optimism at this fun-loving Rock cover!

Spirit Of Wildfire 6/7/20

In that can-do spirit, following the resounding success at the end of last month of Spirit of Wildfire 2, Great Music Stories is planning another radio festival weekend for later this Summer: one that this time will support wellbeing issues and donations for a mental health charity. Bands can submit their interest in the festival and to get to be involved here. Spirit of Wildfire 2 was conceived and run by GuyB's internet station Great Music Stories Radio. With traditional festivals off the table for 2020, GuyB decided it was time to host a full 3-day radio festival, sending an open invitation to bands, managers and PR's. Within 72 hours, 50 bands had confirmed their interest: finally ending up with an amazing 63, who performed 20 minute sets and gave interviews, including Toby Jepson, The Quireboys and Sari Schorr!

Pineapple Thief's Demons 6/7/20

The Pineapple Thief release their new album, 'Versions Of The Truth', on Friday 4th September via Kscope, and today's Video Of The Day, ‘Demons’, is the first track to be taken from the upcoming CD. Combining sweeping soundscapes with infectiously pensive choruses, it's a swelling and expansive journey from subtle ambience to immersive climaxes, underscored by exotic orchestral flourishes and carried by emotive vocals. Produced by the four members of the band – vocalist Bruce Soord, keyboardist Steve Kitch, bassist Jon Sykes and drummer Gavin Harrison – 'Versions Of The Truth' marries a stellar musical breadth to a spectrum of emotions that run from anger and confusion to sadness and regret and even glimmers of hope. Due to the current Covid-19 situation, the band’s planned headline tour for Autumn 2020 has now been rescheduled for next year, including London's O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire on Saturday 30th October.

"For fans of grown up guitar based instrumental music this album is a must. Geoff has managed to apply his extraordinary guitar playing talent in a tasteful, playful and intelligent way, creating something bang up to date, with great production and complex enough to warrant repeated listening. You may well get pleasantly lost in this work.”

Today read a debut album review, as Slowhand (no, not Eric Clapton), gives you his take here on Geoff Tyson's new CD 'Drinks With Infinity', which is due to be released on Friday 31st July, plus check out our Video Of The Day.

The Game Is Over 5/7/20

Today's Track Of The Day is 'The Game Is Over', the second song to be taken from Evanescence's 'The Bitter Truth', their first album of new original music in nine years, which will be released incrementally throughout 2020. A guitar-driven anthem, the iPhone-shot, neon-nightmare of a video is an effects-laden look at the emotional havoc that the current situation has wrought. The band are also set to tour Europe next year alongside Within Temptation, including London's The O2 on Monday 4th October.

So make sure you get along and support HRH NWOCR, as they kickstart 2021 with a new positive framework that’s not only all about the music, but more importantly, is all about the fans.

Metasoma Neverhere 4/7/20

Today's Track Of The Day is London based Metal outfit Metasoma's brand new single ’Neverhere’, complete with a stripped acoustic version taken days just before lockdown! Indeed, the spirit of Metal made Vlad A. Iancu (vocals), Voytek Golbiak (lead guitar), Mishiek Es (rhythm guitar),  Jake Thorsen (bass guitar) and Hugo Terv (drums), make their personal pilgrimages from across the globe (Poland, America, France and Romania), to London, to form the band and worship at the Metal alter. From the first chords of Paranoid, across the madness of Motorhead, to the insanity of Babymetal, Metal just won’t die!

The Sinner Takes It All 4/7/20

Having spent the best part of a decade working on various musical projects supporting the likes of Iced Earth, The Damned, Wednesday 13 and The Birthday Massacre; new British Hard Rock group South Of Salem release their forthcoming debut album, ‘The Sinner Takes It All, on Friday 25th September, of which they have premiered a new track, ‘Cold Day In Hell’, which is today's Video Of The Day. This latest track by the Bournemouth band is a stunning representation of the musicality and emotional lyrical themes running through an album full of cult anthems, that have a truly original, but recognizable take on the Rock and Metal genres, with a horror twist.

Kansas CD Review 3/7/20

"The commercial number from the album, and the go for song for mainstream radio, would quite simply be the penultimate track ‘Never'. Opening with subtle piano and violin lines to the vocal rise. Yes, cigarette lighters - sorry I mean mobile phone torches, will be fully switched on for this one. 'The Song the River Sang’ closes out the album, starting in a form of Folky Rock rhythmic charge. One time Yes member Brislin orchestrates and takes lead vocal on this anthemic mash-up.  Kansas have certainly seen the years, but at the very same time, have polished up their sound for today, whilst keeping a careful eye on their iconic past. Carry On Wayward Sons.”

Today read another one of our self-isolating album reviews, as Geoff C. this time gives you his take here on Kansas' new CD 'The Absence Of Presence', which is due to be released on Friday 17th July, plus check out our Video Of The Day.

Moscow Bosscats 3/7/20

Following on from some excellent reviews for their recent 'The Ticket to Memphis', Richard Townend & The Mighty Bosscats are releasing another new album through commercial digital stores on Friday 24th July. Entitled 'Moscow Bosscats', it was recorded live on a trip to Moscow in May last year with a fine bunch of guys at the Rhythm and Blues Club.

Blues Club Incorporated 3/7/20

Today's Blues Club Podcast Track Of The Day is another two hours of non stop Best in Blues and Beyond with More Music and Less Chat, featuring New Releases, Classic Tracks and UK IBBA Presenters' Picks including songs from Larkin Poe, Walter Trout (pictured), Bad Touch, Micke & Lefty featuring Chef, Alexis Korner's Blues Incorporated, Bob Marley & The Wailers, Jarabe de Palo and many more.

Fierce War For The World 2/7/20

Fueled and driven by their core fan base, Fierce Heart is back and have created what is looking like a career milestone - the fantastic new album 'War For The World', of which 'Built For Speed' is today's Track Of The Day. Not only did nine brand new tracks composed for the album come out of writing sessions conducted in Canyon West Studio near Los Angeles, but there's also a fresh take from their 1985 sessions - an all new recording bonus track of one of their classic live staples, 'Out For Blood'! Slamming drums courtesy of the inimitable Nick Forchione and thundering bass by way of Antonio Acevedo, complement the soaring and soulful vocals of Robert Reynolds, plus a brand new guitar inspiration from maestro Rex Carroll to round out the package. Fierce Heart is back, and ready to Rock your world!

Sons of Liberty are to release a limited-edition re-issue on Monday 10th August of last year's debut album, 'Animism', of which their track 'Up Shit Creek' is today's Video Of The Day. So don't miss out on this collector's orange vinyl, gatefold sleeved, numbered 1-100 and signed by the band LP, as when it's sold out it will be available in black vinyl only. The Bristol/South Wales based band consisting of Rob Cooksley (vocals), Fred Hale (guitar), Andy Muse (guitar), Mark Thomas (bass) and Steve Byrne (drums), supported last year's debut with a steady string of gigs including PlanetRockStock and Giants of Rock. Indeed, the band had a full diary of gigs and festivals planned for 2020, but due to Covid-19 this has been put on hold. However, the good news is that during lockdown the band have been writing their next album and planning their 2021 gig schedule!
