Featuring immersive and climactic passages which pulsate between ever-changing forms of hushed intimacy and explosive passion, anthemic choruses and poignant verses, 'Supernova' is the latest single to be taken from the album, an incredible collection of tracks which blends influences from Alternative, Folk, Prog and Pop into a sound somewhere between Jeff Buckley, Pink Floyd and Fleet Foxes.
A New Tomorrow 27/11/19
A New Tomorrow (Video Of The Day) get to share the next chapter in their evolution via their debut full-length album 'Universe' released earlier this month. Formed in London by vocalist/guitarist Alessio Garavello (ex-Powerquest and Arthemis) and bassist Andrea Lonardi, with drummer Tim Hall and guitarist Michael Kew joining later, the band have taken their time honing their sound into the potent mix of uplifting, hard-hitting, Melodic Hard Rock. Harnessing influences from the likes of Alter Bridge, Foo Fighters, Metallica and Green Day, they offer fast and furious riffing coupled with super Melodic hook lines and have an original take on the Hard Rock genre that makes them a breath of fresh air. The band’s love for life and go-getter attitude, both on and off stage, complete the picture of one of the hottestacts to emerge from the UK underground in recent times. Buckle up and enjoy the ride!

Thousand Horses 229 Gig Review/Photo Gallery 24/11/19
"Carry Me' sees Hobby lose the acoustic and Satcher reclaim the Les Paul as the rockometer rises once more. This is Southern Rock and Roll with keys, twin guitar harmonics and a fine solo from Satcher. Back to the new album and the title track brings us another acoustic guitar singalong that had me thinking of 'Copperhead Road'. It has that radio friendly feel and was well received. 'Sunday Morning', from their first album, had a strong key influence, reflecting the church where the song was written whilst 'Preaching To The Choir' has a slow groove intro into a chugging Country number that had the arms waving along."
Today, not only read the whole of Mother's review of A Thousand Horses 229 The Venue London gig from Tuesday night here, but also check out our Photo Gallery here (courtesy of Rockrpix), including special guest Howard Rose.

Marillion RAH Gig Review 23/11/19
"If the aptly named 'Power' truly epitomised Hogarth's stage presence, then 'Beyond You', taken from 1995's 'Afraid Of Sunlight' duly emphasised Trewavas' outstanding bass guitar credentials. Roars of approval welcomed the opening bars of the title track of 1989's 'Seasons End', the very first album to feature Hogarth, the frontman duly celebrating his pearl anniversary by getting behind a keyboard, complemented by the big man doing what he does best with another effortless solo, while the audience deliriously clapped along, morphing into yet another standing ovation. A bit of banter with the crowd, saw the MC for the evening, Hogarth, tell one friendly heckler to "shut up - I'm talking", before Steve thanked the sextet (violins, viola, cello, flute, french horn), whom not only added depth to the overall sound but also made a couple of sections really different and special."
Today read the whole of AJ and Mark C's joint take on Marillion at London's Royal Albert Hall on Monday night here, the penultimate night of their thirteen-date 'With Friends from the Orchestra' tour.
Jones & Pearce At Oslo Tonight 23/11/19
"I suspect that many readers of this review will, like me, have been monitoring Laurence’s progress since the release of his early albums. His regular touring allowed us to marvel at his guitar playing, even it felt a bit incongruous to hear songs like ‘Have You Ever Loved A Woman’ sung by a young man who looked like he hadn’t started shaving yet!" That was part of our take on Laurence Jones Band's eponymous studio album released in September and Laurence (Video Of The Day) is playing London's Oslo tonight, the second night of his November/December UK tour with special guest Matt Pearce & The Mutiny (Track Of The Day).

StoneWire Album Launch Gig Review 21/11/19
"By the time StoneWire made their way on to the stage, the venue was rammed, albeit, reassuringly, by a very young Rock demographic. Sticking to their album launch guns, the 5-piece proceeded to reel off 'Life As We Know It' in its ten track order. A reviewers dream. Album opener 'Monkey Talk', with its awesome 'Slither'-esque riff was well received, the stage presence and powerhouse vocals of German born, and now a Lady Of Kent, Sky, immediately a major factor, and one that would be a common denominator for the rest of their set. Hunter heralded 'One For The Road' by raising her hands and clapping in the air, before the shades wearing Annable launched into another mean riff, doing a fair impersonation of Faith No More's Jim Martin not only guitar-wise, but visually as well. "Hello everybody" enthused Sky - "we're only eight tickets short of a sell-out" as she deservedly gave those gathered a thumbs up before introducing the Southern Rockin' slide of 'FTM', their very first single from the new album."
Today read the whole of AJ's StoneWire/Dead Writers (pictured) review from Islington's Hope & Anchor in London last Thursday here plus check out our updated Photo Gallery (courtesy of Bruce Biege) here.

Airbourne Newcastle Gig Review 20/11/19
"What can you say about Airbourne that hasn't been said already? Probably nothing to be honest, they just continue to give and give epic performances, like they did tonight and it's not just about the music, it's becoming a full show laced with Aussie based humour, a bar on stage, Joel being the bartender, mixing the drinks, passing them around the band, pouring beers and hurling them in plastic containers into the crowd like the 'Golden Over' in the Ashes, and for one lucky lady who caught one, Howzat! Maybe it's a way of taking a breather, as they bloody earned it, but it works. Four lads making music, having a ball doing the kind of stuff some of us dream of."
Today read the whole of Tony Burgum's Airbourne review from Newcastle's O2 Academy from Sunday here plus check out our Video Of The Day and our Photo Gallery here.

Mojo Preachers White Rabbit 16/11/19
"The lyrics are definitely are cut above the average (which is not to damn with faint praise), which add to what is a very well recorded and sophisticated sounding collection. The author of the band’s self-description must have been having a Psychedelic experience when they wrote the line quoted above. This is simply good music – check it out." That was part of our take here on Mojo Preachers 'Man Made Monster' CD released earlier this year, and out into the ether comes a rehearsal take and a great cover of the iconic 'White Rabbit' which is today's Video Of The Day.
Islington Life As We Know It 15/11/19
Following their performance at Hard Rock Hell 13 last weekend, which rocked the place, StoneWire played Islington's Hope & Anchor last night, their album launch for 'Life As We Know It' released earlier this month. With great support from Dead Writers, StoneWire draw from many wells - fusing elements of Classic Rock, Blues and Southern Rock to create a melting pot of addictive melody and biting riffs. Together, frontwoman Sky Hunter's soaring powerhouse Rock vocals and gravely Blues tones and StoneWire's conscious whole-band chemistry and synergy, all give the brew a distinctive tang that has built up their fan following. Sky is complemented by Gaz Annable – guitar, Duncan Greenway – guitar, Steve Briggs - bass and Rob Glasner – drums. The band are also returning to London on Saturday 7th December at The Cavern, but in the meantime, with a review and Photo Gallery to come, check out today's Video Of The Day.
Vambo Monarch's Tonight 15/11/19
"Thank you to our dear friend 'Mother' over at Wrinkly Rockers Club for his super review of 'Vambo'! ''The new offering is a remarkably sophisticated collection of work with unexpected diversity and a huge maturity for a young band. And importantly still has the excitement of a freshman offering. The production is excellent, courtesy of Ray Stiles (Mud/The Hollies), which is evident as the album wends its way through assorted influences.'' That was Vambo's very kind Facebook response to our recent review of their self-titled debut CD here, and the guys are playing a free album launch party in London at Camden's The Monarch tonight supported by Miguel Montalban.

Goodbye June/Wolf Jaw Gig Review 14/11/19
"Goodbye June are a family-affair formed by three cousins in the wake of the tragic death of the lead guitarist’s Tyler Baker’s brother who passed away in the month of June. There is no mistaking their Nashville roots from their bourbon-soaked sound to their Country music-inspired leather with tassels attire. But this isn’t sentimental Country, this is music with a harder edge and Loudon Milbourn high-octane vocal style could compete with Axl Rose when it comes to scale and pitch."

Stonewire At Hope & Anchor Tonight 14/11/19
StoneWire released their long-awaited album 'Life As We Know It' at the beginning of this month, and following their performance at Hard Rock Hell 13 last weekend, they are not only playing Islington's Hope & Anchor tonight, but are also returning to London on Saturday 7th December at The Cavern. The band draw from many wells - fusing elements of Classic Rock, Blues and Southern Rock to create a melting pot of addictive melody and biting riffs.

Doors open at 8.15pm with music from 9-11pm. WRC members are reminded that they can use their cards to get discounted admission.
Dee Rock/Brian Downey Gig Reviews 13/11/19
"The stand out track for mine from 'Backroad Symphony', and for me personally, it was worth paying the fiver to hear this on its own, even though we missed part of it. Even if it was good for us that Dee Rock was on first, the unfortunate flip side, I suppose, understandably, was the number of punters there to see them. Although those lucky enough to witness their set, immediately warmed to the USA/UK seven piece consisting of the cowboy hatted, dreadlocked and shades wearing Dee on guitar and vocals, more than ably supported by guitar, bass, keys, violin, drums and backing vocals/tambourine. The all too short set also included the Southern Rockin' 'Ripples On The Moon' from his 2010 album 'The Road Ain't Long' and the inspirational 'Southern Summer Night', the soulful 'Long Way Home' and the native American roots Rock of 'Wild Mustang', all from his latest album, plus also the heartfelt 'Other Side', which Dee poignantly dedicated to a dear friend of his."

House Of Shakira's Radiocarbon 13/11/19
Due to be released on Friday 6th December, 'Radiocarbon’ is the ninth studio album by Swedish Melodic Hard Rock act House Of Shakira (today's Video Of The Day). With Pontus Norgren (of Hammerfall) on production duties, it shows them operating at the top of their game. Originally formed in Stockholm in the early 1990’s, House Of Shakira have a unique sound that stands out amongst other bands in their genre as they craft Melodic Hard Rock of the highest quality with vocals that soar, melodies that rise and guitars that link everything together, making for a great listening experience. The diversity of their music and lyrics means that the band do not fall under the standard classification of Hard Rock and they have a truly cross-genre Rock appeal. Their motto is to “try every idea with an open mind", meaning that each member of the group contributes their personal ideas: writing the lyrics, rhythm patterns, chord changes and crafting those special melodies.
Rock On The Ridge Riot 13/11/19
Today's Rock On The Ridge Track Of The Day includes music from Palace Of The King, Laura Cox, Electric Black, Quiet Riot, Goodbye June, The Rocket Dolls (pictured), In Flames, Scorpions, Buckcherry, Small City Blues, Ozzy Osbourne, Tygers Of Pan Tang, Rival Sons, Wayward Sons, Jeff Lynne, GK 1974, Seven Past Sunset, Far Suns Fall, Empty Trail, Dirty Honey, Sweet Crisis, Small Town Titans and on their Introducing Stage, two in a row from Building Giants.
HRH 13 Day 3 Review 12/11/19
"Penultimate act, and truly an icon, is German songstress and iron maiden, Doro. It is no stretch to call the blonde bombshell the queen of Heavy Metal. Dressed to seduce in classic black leather and studs, the most notable thing of Doro's look is not the glamour, the Rock outfit or the dark eye make up, it's the warm smile and total enthusiasm. We are watching an artist who really knows her game. The lyrics won't win any awards, its typical fist pumping stuff with repetition and chanting the name of the game. She exhorts the crowd to raise their fists, in her Teutonic lilt, which the gladly do. It would be like pantomime if it wasn't so Shakespearean. 'Night Of The Warlock' is a theatrical masterpiece."

KWS At The Bush Tonight 12/11/19
"Kenny Wayne Shepherd's set lasted just over two hours from opening track 'Woman Like You', a cover of Buffalo Springfields' 'Mr. Soul' through a seriously rocking setlist that included his version of 'Voodoo Child'. Nice." That was our take on Kenny Wayne Shepherd on the Outlaw Stage at this year's Ramblin' Man Fair in July, and KWS returns to the South of England tonight, halfway through his November UK tour at London's O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire, following the release of his new album ‘The Traveler' via Provogue, in May earlier this year.
TNMC Black Market Tonight 12/11/19
Today's Blues On The Radio Track Of The Day features new music from Marcus King (pictured), Sayer & Joyce, Marco Cinelli & Danny del Toro, Connie Lush, Joe Bonamassa, Biscuit Miller and The Mix, Kathryn Hobgood Ray, The Lewis Hamilton Band, Miss Bix & The Blues Fix, Boogaloo Grey Cooper and Billy Price, not forgetting a couple of tracks from Black Market III ahead of their show tonight at The Tuesday Night Music Club, The Comrades Club, Coulsdon CR5 2NF.
HRH 13 Day 2 Review 11/11/19
"Penultimate band on stage 1 are the fabulous Gun. All dressed in black, the Glaswegian rockers are another seasoned, professional, tight and frankly just brilliant five piece. The Gizzi brothers - Dante on vocals and Jools on guitar - are just damn cool. Dante's infectious smile is picked up by the now rammed audience and his banter, in that broad Clydeside accent, is so easy on the ear. Not something you often hear said about the Glaswegian drawl. The tempo and the temperature soar as hit after hit are poured out from their forthcoming greatest hits album. Hits like 'Don't Say It's Over', 'Welcome To The Real World' and 'Steal Your Fire' showcasing over 30 years of Rocking. Another regular of the festival scene, their superb set is only marred by some VIP based altercation that sees Dante visibility upset by the unnecessary fracas. As a Glaswegian, you don't need to see your home sport on your travels. He's a man of loving life and tonight we all loved it with him. Well, most of us anyway."

Songs The Night Sings 11/11/19
Released last Friday, ’Songs The Night Sings’ (Track Of The Day) is the second album by The Dark Element featuring vocalist Anette Olzon and Finnish guitarist and songwriter Jani Liimatainen, and takes up where their self-titled 2017 debut left off, with immaculate vocals from Anette and fabulous anthems written by Jani. Ever since word about The Dark Element first got out, fans were frothing with anticipation. And no wonder, considering the talents involved. Anette is widely known for her two hit albums by Nightwish, while Jani has recently been busy in Insomnium and Cain's Offering (alongside Stratovarius singer Timo Kotipelto) but had also made a deep impression on power Metal fans following the twelve years he had spent in Sonata Arctica after co-founding that band.
Metalite Heroes Return 10/11/19
Two years after their exciting debut 'Heroes In Time', the Swedish Melodic Metal renewers Metalite return with new singer Erica Ohlsson and their AFM debut album 'Biomechanicals'. A richer production, stronger songwriting and an elusive and mysterious aura, distinguishes 'Biomechanicals' from everything you already know about Melodic and Symphonic Metal. Futuristic and glimmering, that differentiates lyrically from the rivalry, Metalite's expert use of electronic elements, influenced by the Trance era of early 21st century, sees sphaeric layers mix with flirring sequences and stoic beats, that fit like a second skin for this massive, melodic and outrageous catchy soundwall.
Hailz Pist! 10/11/19
Riff juggernaut Pist, who released their new album ‘Hailz’ last Friday through APF Records, have shared a guitar play through video for new single ‘If I Was You...’ which is today's Track Of The Day. The Bury, Lancashire, based quartet’s album features seven tracks that see them taking a step away from the Stoner-Doom label they were tagged with. ‘Hailz’ is a record that will grab the attention of fans of Orange Goblin, Kvelertak, Motörhead, Entombed, Uada and Black Breath, making Pist one of the standout bands in the current UK underground heavy scene. Consisting of Dave Rowlands - vocals, John Nicholson - guitars, Mike Collins - bass, & backing vocals Andy Hunt - drums, the band will be touring next year, including London's The Dev on Friday 20th March.
Glorious War 10/11/19
After gaining notoriety across the Alt-Rock scene culminating in their 'Young Beauties and Fools' album winning the 2018 Juno award for Best Rock Album, The Glorious Sons’ incisive new album ‘A War On Everything’ (Video Of The Day) gets a UK release on Friday 6th December. The daring 14-track collection is rife with vulnerability and searing insight into universal truths about anxiety, sadness and isolation in the 21st century, coupled with raw soulful lyrics. Hailing from Kingston, Ontario, the band currently continue on their lengthy European tour following their recent UK leg.
HRH 13 Day 1 Review 9/11/19
"Act of the night were Cloven Hoof. The veteran NWOBHM 5 piece hailing from the Midlands sound exactly like what they are. Iron Maiden and Judas Priest are both bands that spring to mind. Marshall amps and Gibson LTD guitars, strong wailing vocals, black leather and pentagrams. It's classic yet still fresh. Frontman George Call struts a la Dickinson/Halford in front of hugely powerful sound. It's just a shame that the arena didn't showcase either the sound or the show in it's best light. But a great set well received."

Rival Sons Brixton Review 7/11/19
"From Long Beach, California, USA, this is now the Rival Sons tenth year, and they are busy constantly crossing the Atlantic, touring their home country or over here in Europe. Those that are maybe unfamiliar with this act should imagine taking Led Zeppelin and Free in a collaboration, then producing for these times, where you can find the big riffs blended within a soulful (even Gospel at times) underbelly. To introduce anyone to this act, play ‘Open My Eyes’ as a taster, which indeed was duly dropped into the latter half of tonight’s show."
Today read the whole of Geoff C's Rival Sons gig review here from London's O2 Brixton Academy on Sunday night, plus check out today's Video Of The Day.
Downey Underworld Tonight 7/11/19
"The crowd lapped it up, as the mastermind behind the drums, Brian Downey; counted in the songs keeping the rhythms tight, with Wilson on bass. With his big curly hair and engaging smile Matt Wilson certainly looks the part, but he very much has his own powerful stage persona and completely owns the stage. The energy of the band went from strength to strength, 'Still In Love With You' soared with Grace and Edgar's guitar playing feeding off each other in dual guitar harmonies with high octane solos sweeping every head banger into the sleaze driven funky mood of 'Johnny The Fox'. The band didn't miss a hit, including all those well-known Lizzy songs that even a non-rocker would know, 'The Boys Are Back In Town', 'The Rocker' and 'Don't Believe A Word'." That was part of our take on Brian Downey's Alive & Dangerous at Nell's Jazz & Blues in February last year and the boys are back in London tonight, this time at Camden's The Underworld supported by Rebecca Downes (Track Of The Day).
Dee To Rock Dublin Castle Tonight 7/11/19
Following the release of his new album 'Backroad Symphony', back in May we introduced you to Nashville artist Dee Rock and Dee completes his UK tour in London tonight at Camden's The Dublin Castle. Rock's Lone Star roots run deep, tracing his family from the time of Davy Crockett and Jim Bowie at the Alamo, to today. Both of Dee's parents are music lovers and raised their children on a soundtrack ranging from Motown to Grand Ole Opry, with artists like BB King, Ray Charles, Johnny Cash and The Allman Brothers. All of that great music has shaped Dee Rock's style and sent him down the road he's on. Rock has found success in both sides of the music industry ~ on stage and off ~ from producing artists and song writing for various record companies including Virgin, EMI and Capitol Records, to writing the soundtrack for the Warner Bros. film 'Divas'.
Electric Academy Tonight 6/11/19
"Just the eight tracks then, with a running time of 35 minutes, from a kickass band with badass sound. But definitely a case of Hard/Blues/Stoner Rock quality not quantity, with oodles of extra scope for taking all these classic tracks that extra mile during their killer live shows. A consummate win win and a real Mother of a Rock album. Hail Mary." That was part of our take here on Electric Mary's new CD 'Mother', released earlier this year, and the Melbourne Rockers are playing London's O2 Academy 2 Islington tonight.
This Is Hell 6/11/19
Burnt Out Wreck, featuring Gary Moat (ex-Heavy Pettin', Mothers Ruin), released their second album 'This Is Hell' last month and the first single taken from the album, 'Dead Or Alive', is today's Video Of The Day. Gary created the band in the Summer of 2016, and after penning songs for their debut album, ‘Swallow’ was released in early 2017. After plenty of promotion and hard work touring the UK, the band returned to the studio to record this follow up, a fierce, hard rocking album with a heavy punch. 'This Is Hell' sees the band featuring Gary - lead vocals, Alex Carmichael - bass, Paul Gray - drums, Adrian Dunn - lead guitar, backing vocals, Miles Goodman - rhythm guitar, backing vocals, take a big leap forward, ratcheting up the pace with this foot stomping, ball busting Hard Rock album that'll give the best of them a run for their money! You can also catch the band on the road, including next year's Great British Rock and Blues Festival in Skegness on Tuesday 7th January.
Rock On The Ridge Heroes 6/11/19
Today's Rock On The Ridge Track Of The Day features Airbourne (pictured), Deaf Rat, King Creature, Wolfmother, Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons, Western Sand, Mason Hill, Buffalo Fuzz, Deadly Shakes, Black Stone Cherry, Mountain, Tainted Lady, Gallows Circus, Everyday Heroes, Hollowstar, Strangers Know More, Buffalo Fish, David Smith (Gypsy's Kiss), Troy Redfern, Mike Ross, Nothing More and Alter Bridge.

Jerad Finck's New Kids 4/11/19
Jerad Finck's new single 'New Kids' is not only today's Track Of The Day, but it's also a song which speaks for itself. It's a socially conscious anthem from the self-proclaimed philosopher and musician which has already sold over 50k downloads, debuted on Billboard and amassed over two million Spotify streams. In Jerad’s own words, this song is “aimed at my generation” and speaks about standing up and standing together in the face of adversity. The song was remixed by popular UK duo Seawaves - which currently has nearly 200,000 Spotify streams and was released in support of Everytown for Gun Safety, a non-profit organisation which advocates for gun control against gun violence, an issue which is very important to Finck.
Mojo Preachers CD Review 3/11/19
"One of the distinctive elements that sets the group apart are the really nice vocals from Sophie Lindsay (also responsible for the attractive artwork) which are strong and authoritative yet also soothingly melodic; in fact her singing is reminiscent of Christine McVie (it is almost impossible to listen to the opening vocals on second track, ‘Tattooed Heart’, without expecting to hear a ‘Mac song to follow) with a bit of an added Jazz feel (not to suggest that she sings flat and kills the melody like most Jazz vocalists)."
Today read the whole of Simon Green's review of Mojo Preacher's 'Man Made Monster' CD here, which was released earlier this year, plus check out our Video Of The Day.
Dan Reed Network Tour 3/11/19

The Sun Rises Here 3/11/19
Guitarist, singer and songwriter Neal Casal sadly passed away on 26th August, and a rarely seen video for the song 'Reason' from Casal's 1998 album, 'The Sun Rises Here' is today's Track Of The Day, including a poignant ending segment with Neal and his father discussing his Rock 'n' Roll dreams. He was celebrated most recently for his work with Ryan Adams & The Cardinals, Chris Robinson Brotherhood and Circles Around the Sun, however, prior to this, he recorded and toured prolifically as a solo artist and Casal's entire solo discography of nine albums, that were previously unavailable on digital music platforms, have now been released.
Vambo CD Review 2/11/19
"Having seen Vambo live a number of times, my expectations for their debut eponymous album were soon shattered on first listening. The four piece are a lively bundle of rocking excitement on stage so I was expecting a rough and ready Rock album, full of vim and vigour. In contrast the new offering is a remarkably sophisticated collection of work with unexpected diversity and a huge maturity for a young band. And importantly still has the excitement of a freshman offering. The production is excellent, courtesy of Ray Stiles (Mud/The Hollies), which is evident as the album wends its way through assorted influences."
Today read the whole of Mother's review of Vambo's self-titled debut CD here, which was released last Friday, plus check out our Video Of The Day.
